    a year?!?!?!? that's nuts, why was it 100 days from steel to concrete?

    • @ricksface
      @ricksface  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Material and worker shortages during COVID -19 is the main reason to the additional time.

    We love ourselves a good Timelapse video ! If more people in Denver wanted pools we'd record these as well haha

    ONE YEAR TO BUILD A POOL?

  • @celticsfaninthedesert4778
    @celticsfaninthedesert4778 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    Looks like they did great work and the time frame is unfortunately the norm these days. I’m actually in the beginning stages of getting bids from 4 companies also in AZ. Was this under or over 100k if you don’t mind me asking. I’m hoping not to go over and looking at something somewhat similar to yours. Anyways congrats and hope you all are enjoying it

    Wow! Amazing on the time. We used Build Your Own Pool (of Georgia), yes I know a different market all together. Signed the contract on August 10th, we were putting water in ON December 22nd. We asked them to stop for 17 days while we were on vacation as well.

      That's great! A friend of ours went the BYOP route around the same time we were building. They beat us by a month or two but it still wasn't a quick project. We were subject to contractor and material shortages during this build.

    Beautiful end product, btw. So sorry it took so long. I totally feel that. We have several projects going at once here and it has been a major pain in the butt.

      We've been enjoying it for months and very happy with the end result!

    Thanks for sharing this video, makes the wait I’ve experienced feel like a cup of coffee compared to the total time of your project. They did a wonderful job though!

    Looks great, I would like something a little smaller. My backyard is not as big. Would you recommend them overall. There pricing seemed be reasonable here in Arizona

    • @ricksface
      @ricksface  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you asked me that question during construction I would have said no. But after enjoying the pool/spa for a few months we're very happy with the end result. It's exactly what we wanted and they totally delivered.

    Sharp looking pool... But over a year to build a pool???

      The joy of a covid pool. We're already in it this year. It's been glorious.

    Should have dug the trench before the pool. ;-)

    Cost?

  • @waylonwood86
    @waylonwood86 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hey there, I live in AZ and we are literally looking to get something very very similar without the turf. The pool is dead on for our dimensions. I know you are reluctant to answer the question about price, but we have been looking for a reputable company for a while. I would assume this contractor is back up to pace not that the pandemic is mostly in the past. Would you humor me with a roundabout estimate of the cost for this? I am in Glendale and find it really hard to get real estimates. We had 3 contractors come out and gave us wildly differing prices for something extremely close to this build. One contractor said 38k. Another said 110k and the most reputable one so far said about 66k, which includes 32.5x17.5, 3 foot decking around, 2 cement slabs for sunbathing and gravel/landscaping

      I live in Phoenix and one bid was for $83k. Just for the pool, nothing extra.

  • @lathamarea1437
    @lathamarea1437 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    the contractor did a great job, they kept the work area clean and uncluttered..I'd rather have the hot tub on the other end near house, not under that tree..

    • @ricksface
      @ricksface  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks, we are really happy the way it turned out. We thought about switching it around but wanted the baja step closer to the seating and the house.

    How much did this project cost?!

    • @ricksface
      @ricksface  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks for your comment. Because pools are so dependant on options and contractors it's not really relevant to post what we payed. Call your local pool builder and ask about their base packages to get a sense of what the cost would be.

      @@ricksface Why is everyone scared to mention a price! Just SAY IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    • @ricksface
      @ricksface  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@1Interloper just call your local pool company and ask them the prices of their starter package.

    • @fastlane1132
      @fastlane1132 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@1Interloper I agree, transparency is key. I've been pool shopping in Phx and pool of this size with a Jacuzzi would cost $60-$70K, not including the landscaping. However, it's possible he paid less 2 years ago.

  • @daviansdad5938
    @daviansdad5938 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I wonder why you chose the Jacuzzi to be placed under a tree. Was that intentional?

    • @ricksface
      @ricksface  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Totally something we took into account and talked to our neighbors about. RIght now the sissoo tree barely covers the spa, but the shade it provides is really nice. So far the self cleaning system has left the pool spotless every day. We'll just keep the trees trimmed for now.

    Hi- All the plumbing was done on the right side of the pool correct? Was the electrical on the right time? It went by so fast I couldn't tell if it was behind or to the right as well.

    • @ricksface
      @ricksface  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, what you didn't see is they trenched the entire right side and layed in the plumbing for the utilities. All the equipment was housed on the far right side and is now fully enclosed.

      It was built during Covid, not our decision to go so slow.

    • @ricksface
      @ricksface  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It was built during COVID-19 so scheduling and materials was really hard.

    What’s the color on your pool?
    How deep is it?

    • @ricksface
      @ricksface  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The interior finish color was called brilliant blue. It's about 4.5' deep so the bench on the farside is perfect for sitting/playing.

    • @ricksface

      The pool is 12 x 25 feet (3.6 x 7.6 meters) not including the spa.

    Wtf a year?

    • @ricksface
      @ricksface  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Totally our sentiment. But mind you this was built during a pandemic, lots of turnover was happening...we had 5 different PMs. We just had to continually contact the builder through their sales and the services channels until they completed the project.

      I was about to say the same thing! There were weeks/months between work being done. I would have been livid!! I'm glad this is the homeowner's video and not the pool builder's video because if I was the pool builder, I would be embarrassed. I'm glad it worked out in the end for you Rick.
