First glitch I've encountered in a game I think was accidentally changing my ship color in an odyssey 2 game. Another one I barely remember causing a lives underflow glitch in Sonic 2's multiplayer.

I never took advantage of the broken daggar glitch because I didn't know how to use it and I used a gameshark to cheat my way through the game. That being said, my brain was melting because the process for the exploit was so confusing!!!

I was a 100 % sure it was way different for everyone at some point, for me when I did the Broken Dagger glitch I had to save EVERYTIME I got one or the game would crash, it would be interesting to know how it worked on other consoles, thank you for the great work Hidden

Pardon the late reply, I was traveling with little internet 😊 Oh man we worked tirelessly for 2 years to make Dark Cloud Enhanced the BEST version of Dark Cloud out there with new playable characters in villages, a massive NEW 80 thousand word NPC dialogue script, Quality of Life Changes, Sidequests, new weapon effects, even introducing a customization window which can allow you to enhance visuals, tweak music settings and so on! 🌟
@@DarkCloudCompendium How can I play it? And has there been any expansion on the lore, by any chance? I doubt it, but no harm in asking. I've been trying to dig up as much as I can on the lore for cringy weeb-ass tabletop rp campaign ideas. 😂As far as I remember, there's not much about the Fairy King, for example. There's a bit about the Atlamillia, especially in DC2, but how people feel about being enclosed in Atla and remembering that? Not so much. I guess it's not exactly plot-relevant, but that's probably me. I saw so much potential in certain spots, like with the Shipwreck and La Saia.
You know it's funny I'm sitting here playing Dark Cloud 2 the correct way no glitches no nothing and your video pops up on my feed I stop what I'm doing I watch your whole video and I think to myself the first time I ever experienced the broken dagger glitch I was just trying to buy a simple Ice Crystal but I did it too fast I was a kid around this time the game just came out my mom bought it for me on my PS2 and for a long time I didn't know what this broken dagger did so I'm playing the game and I'm up to the point where I just got the serpent sword I put that broken dagger into the X 2 slot and it completely crashed my game the next time I did it I put it in a normal slot and realized that my serpent sword was max level. I eventually upgraded into the Chronicle sword and then eventually I put that into the chronicle 2 sword thank you so much for always being there hidden Castle

I don't remember my first video game glitch. But I do remember falling through the maps when going to the back levels in dark cloud. Sunken ship was bad because I hadn't saved in like 10 hours. Eventually I just stopped going to the bonus areas because of it.

Since DC was one of the first games I’ve played, first glitches I remember are the half dozen audio glitches in the game. The bats in DBC were the worst. They die and you still heard them screeching. Game’s completely full of audio errors
Oh man those bats are worth a video of their own, the bat audio glitch is engrained in our memories 💯 I feel like that's part of the charm for the first Dark Cloud especially, it felt rough around the edges but it wore it's heart on its sleeve 🏞

My first glitch was the Chaos Drive/Anima Reuse Glitch from Sonic Adventure 2. I even remember how my brother discovered and slowly found ways to make it more efficient! He whistled to make his chao come to him, and before the chao reached him, he jokingly "gave" the item by putting it down, and the chao actually caught it, but instead of absorbing the Chaos Drive, it just threw away. So he started to recreate the conditions and managed to consistently get it down by petting the chao and quickly giving, readjusting the position and all that crazy stuff... and he did it all by himself! No internet search was made! And I watched it all :D Later when I got SA2 Battle, it was my turn to try the glitch, and just like him, I managed to find my consistent way of doing it... good times, good times! Btw, it's nice to hear some Dreamcast tunes with Dark Cloud footage. Dark Cloud already does look like a Dreamcast Game, so it goes really well! :)
How did this comment slip through the cracks, APLHAPHK it's always a pleasure hearing from you!🫂😁 Okay okay okay I know EXACTLY the glitch your talking about with the Chao drives I exploited the same one with my Dark Flying Chao; God I loved Chao garden so so much take took over my life for a few good years as a kid! 💯 That's crazy how he did all of that back then, brothers are something else 🙏🏼 Oh absolutely, the Dreamcast was such a special creative little machine, that era of Sega was always my favorite. From Jet Grind Radio, to Skies of Arcadia, to smaller titles like Elemental Gimmick Gear and Toy Commander! I always try to find a way to shoehorn Dreamcast things with the Dark Cloud Compendium The late 90s and 2000s was a beautiful time 🌠

I remember something that happened when I was playing the game like a decade ago. I was in one of the floors of the first dungeon and I ended up constantly falling down and had to reset the PS2. I don't remember if this was at one of those jumps that you use Xiao for or not. I was never able to replicate it but it has stuck in my mind all these years.

@@DarkCloudCompendium it makes the playthru so fast. Then you just feed diamonds and pearls (or whatever the weapon needs) into all the best weapons every time they're ready to lvl up again. If only we could get osmond in chapter 1 lol.

Pardon the late reply, I was traveling with little internet 😊 It is possible to get any item in the game through using the glitch item menu however each item's placement would differ plus you cannot see the items you are grabbing which makes it challenging unless you use a GameShark code 🌟
@@mogueraguh Precisely! 🌟✌🏼 Getting access to the item debug menu in the actual game without GameShark codes is such a difficult process that requires opening and closing menus at specific times that I don't even know if I can do it 🙃 😅
When y'all released Dark Cloud Enhanced, like, what, a couple of years ago, I played it a little bit and then haven't played it or the original DC since. I don't know what it is about emulation that doesn't keep me invested like playing on console does.
Hey Dyciane, it's great to hear from you again! It's funny you mention that, I have the same thoughts about PC and Emulation, I love it but it can never draw me in the same way as real hardware does! We are working on getting the Dark Cloud Enhanced Mod Program to be open source and there are a few users interested in making it potentially playable on PS2 hardware to some extent; we'll see what happens with that 🤠
One of the first glitches I remember encountering was in Dark Cloud, I managed to find a point where you can fall out of bounds nearby the dungeon entrance in Queens. Also, something I've found. While playing with an emulator, the broken dagger glitch weakened the weapons instead by forcing the stats into a weird state on the European version.

I typically use Sony Vegas for my own projects on my TH-cam channel, but I was truly amazed by all of the effects and transitions you used. Are there any items from the debug items menu that are fully usable even if theres a chance the game can break. Im only awar of the ones that areunusable

From what I remember I believe there is some functionality to the warp powder but it has a chance of crashing the game and the Flapping Duster is functional if you get it from the debug menu; the rest of the items on the debug menu Crash the game or have no programming assigned to them 💯 Great seeing you again in the comment section ✌🏼

@DarkCloudCompendium Besides never-before-seen footage of glitch items (for me, at least) it's all very fascinating. An old friend of my brothers' introduced me to this number like 20 years ago. I used to watch them beat Ocarina of Time and Final Fantasy, so this was right up their alley. Bought the game in February and played it for the first time since 2005, reached the last dungeon with the Sun Sword before attempting the broken dagger trick. So far I've managed the broken dagger, the early Chronicle 2, and the Flapping Duster. Makes the game even better than the JP version.
I probably should have explained that in the video haha, it's a convoluted glitch people were using to access the broken dagger before they learned how to do the easier broken dagger method we have today 😊

Ngl... I've never used the broken dagger glitch. The only glitch I ever encountered on Dark Cloud was being somehow transported to walk on the ceiling pipes of a Shipwreck dungeon floor. And that was this year. 😂 Which made me unable to exit the level normally as it wouldn't let me drop to the floor. 😅 Honestly, too honest of a player. I tried getting the invisible flapping duster as a glitch you can apparantly get from gaffers shop. But I failed to activate the glitch despite trying to follow the tutorial on youtube. 🫠

You know it's funny I'm sitting here playing Dark Cloud 2 the correct way no glitches no nothing and your video pops up on my feed I stop what I'm doing I watch your whole video and I think to myself the first time I ever experienced the broken dagger glitch I was just trying to buy a simple Ice Crystal but I did it too fast I was a kid around this time the game just came out my mom bought it for me on my PS2 and for a long time I didn't know what this broken dagger did so I'm playing the game and I'm up to the point where I just got the serpent sword I put that broken dagger into the X 2 slot and it completely crashed my game the next time I did it I put it in a normal slot and realized that my serpent sword was max level. I eventually upgraded into the Chronicle sword and then eventually I put that into the chronicle 2 sword thank you so much for always being there hidden Castle

I can't imagine doing the Broken Dagger Glitch by surprise like that, what a shock! Dark Cloud is such a well made game but there's so many little glitches that make it iconic like the bat sound glitch haha!
I don't remember my first video game glitch. But I do remember falling through the maps when going to the back levels in dark cloud. Sunken ship was bad because I hadn't saved in like 10 hours. Eventually I just stopped going to the bonus areas because of it.

Oh no that's the absolute worst, I remember the same thing happening with me on the pier of Queens, it's funny because so many other people mentioned in the comments section that they fell through the floor; Level 5 has to fix these colission issues 😂
Since DC was one of the first games I’ve played, first glitches I remember are the half dozen audio glitches in the game.
The bats in DBC were the worst. They die and you still heard them screeching.

I feel like that's part of the charm for the first Dark Cloud especially, it felt rough around the edges but it wore it's heart on its sleeve 🏞

My first glitch was the Chaos Drive/Anima Reuse Glitch from Sonic Adventure 2.
I even remember how my brother discovered and slowly found ways to make it more efficient!
He whistled to make his chao come to him, and before the chao reached him, he jokingly "gave" the item by putting it down, and the chao actually caught it, but instead of absorbing the Chaos Drive, it just threw away.
So he started to recreate the conditions and managed to consistently get it down by petting the chao and quickly giving, readjusting the position and all that crazy stuff... and he did it all by himself! No internet search was made! And I watched it all :D
Later when I got SA2 Battle, it was my turn to try the glitch, and just like him, I managed to find my consistent way of doing it... good times, good times!
Btw, it's nice to hear some Dreamcast tunes with Dark Cloud footage. Dark Cloud already does look like a Dreamcast Game, so it goes really well! :)

Oh absolutely, the Dreamcast was such a special creative little machine, that era of Sega was always my favorite. From Jet Grind Radio, to Skies of Arcadia, to smaller titles like Elemental Gimmick Gear and Toy Commander! I always try to find a way to shoehorn Dreamcast things with the Dark Cloud Compendium

I remember something that happened when I was playing the game like a decade ago. I was in one of the floors of the first dungeon and I ended up constantly falling down and had to reset the PS2. I don't remember if this was at one of those jumps that you use Xiao for or not. I was never able to replicate it but it has stuck in my mind all these years.

@@DarkCloudCompendium it makes the playthru so fast. Then you just feed diamonds and pearls (or whatever the weapon needs) into all the best weapons every time they're ready to lvl up again. If only we could get osmond in chapter 1 lol.

It is possible to get any item in the game through using the glitch item menu however each item's placement would differ plus you cannot see the items you are grabbing which makes it challenging unless you use a GameShark code 🌟

Getting access to the item debug menu in the actual game without GameShark codes is such a difficult process that requires opening and closing menus at specific times that I don't even know if I can do it 🙃 😅
When y'all released Dark Cloud Enhanced, like, what, a couple of years ago, I played it a little bit and then haven't played it or the original DC since. I don't know what it is about emulation that doesn't keep me invested like playing on console does.

We are working on getting the Dark Cloud Enhanced Mod Program to be open source and there are a few users interested in making it potentially playable on PS2 hardware to some extent; we'll see what happens with that 🤠
One of the first glitches I remember encountering was in Dark Cloud, I managed to find a point where you can fall out of bounds nearby the dungeon entrance in Queens. Also, something I've found. While playing with an emulator, the broken dagger glitch weakened the weapons instead by forcing the stats into a weird state on the European version.

From what I remember I believe there is some functionality to the warp powder but it has a chance of crashing the game and the Flapping Duster is functional if you get it from the debug menu; the rest of the items on the debug menu Crash the game or have no programming assigned to them 💯

@DarkCloudCompendium Besides never-before-seen footage of glitch items (for me, at least) it's all very fascinating.
An old friend of my brothers' introduced me to this number like 20 years ago. I used to watch them beat Ocarina of Time and Final Fantasy, so this was right up their alley. Bought the game in February and played it for the first time since 2005, reached the last dungeon with the Sun Sword before attempting the broken dagger trick.
So far I've managed the broken dagger, the early Chronicle 2, and the Flapping Duster. Makes the game even better than the JP version.

The only glitch I ever encountered on Dark Cloud was being somehow transported to walk on the ceiling pipes of a Shipwreck dungeon floor. And that was this year. 😂 Which made me unable to exit the level normally as it wouldn't let me drop to the floor. 😅

I tried getting the invisible flapping duster as a glitch you can apparantly get from gaffers shop. But I failed to activate the glitch despite trying to follow the tutorial on youtube. 🫠
