      @@DerekElliott I'm actually deep into 3d now, using Blender since 2016, dabbled Cinema 4D before that. I'd say do more Logo Animations, and building company signs in Blender. I already make time lapse videos of those, but detailed tuts like yours would help the fans.

    really cool tutorial. One question, is there a reason you used a long focal length instead of an orthographic camera?

    • @DerekElliott
      @DerekElliott  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's all just style preference but I tend to like using a long focal length when I'm trying to be a bit more realistic. Orthographic will remove perspective right away though so if that's all you're after then it's good there. I do use Ortho for more stylized work though.

    Hello everyone!
    So I am newbie to blender
    But I really like the concept making 3d stuff and also l like beautiful UI designs, I sometimes make UI designs for different apps on Photoshop (mobile version, it's pretty old but works)
    So I don't have a powerful pc, I have a laptop with an i3 which also isn't much powerful to probably render these blender stuff
    So I was thinking about getting a vps (as I saw some people on Reddit saying how they render blender stuff on their vps)
    So do you guys have any recommendations of where to start learning blenders and get familized with the tools that would be helpful

    Hey Derek, I would like to create stationery mockups, but I realized that working with this plugin (import image as planes) is difficult to assemble because I would need to define several thicknesses for each component of the mockup, well, I started creating the mockup without the plugin and manually, just using cube and plane and adding solidify with the thickness I want (in this case I was working with the mm unit) but the layout is buggy, if I zoom in, the objects are broken. Is there any way to fix this?
