Mobile Device Forensics: Collection and Preservation

In this episode, learn how to properly collect and preserve mobile device evidence. Mobile device evidence may be submitted in a powered-on or off state. Mobile devices that are collected powered-on must be isolated from cellular, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth signals and plugged-in so that the battery does not deplete. This episode walks through the steps of identifying if a mobile device is powered-on, navigating settings of the device (whether iPhone or Android) and collecting mobile device evidence for submission to the crime laboratory.
