Can you do a video on some free or small cost forensic tools for home and non profit org?
For at home labs, NEVER give out your home address. Setup a mail box, go once per week and get the devices.
Better yet, don't even register business with Secretary of State, just make sure if you are hired by a lawfirm only choose ones where attorney employees have had liability insurance revoked, they are more desperate and probably will pay more. If it is for a big case lawfirm will likely move locations so should be no problem to have them set up your work area.

Don't we need any certification done through govt. Agency to certify lab as approved digital forensic lab?
Later u can appraise your lab with independent agency ,and start with ISO certification.

Hi, she said Write-Blockers. I researched it a while back. It's a read-only access type thing used during the analysis for forensics. That's my beginner's way of trying to explain it. You will find it easily with some research.
There is no one approach to setting up a home lab. Amber covers some good stuff here.
The first thing to do is decide what type of devices/data you are going to be analyzing as this will determine the types and amount of hardware/software you need.
I would also be very careful if you are allowing open internet access on your forensic workstation. At a minimum, I would recommend limiting inbound/outbound access. Maybe consider only allowing access outbound to specific resources and rejecting all inbound connections unless they are in response to an outbound request (such as Windows updates, tool updates, etc.). Lots to think about. It only takes one wrong click to get infected or allow a bad actor in.

There goes the "undisturbed" evidence making case invalid. In MN state is allowed to illegally shadow copy hard drives at will without consent, just ask the Attorney General maybe they can set you up, particularly in states where the AG has a temper (domestic assault) history.
