The first caller is the victim, and the second (or the guy who didn't call) is the perpetrator in the eyes of the cops (who also don't know what happened). So even if you deter someone and go on about your business, you MUST call 911 the moment it's safe to do so and make a report. In this sense, your phone is a weapon (for keeping you safe).

I do at least 2 to 4 time a month. I was showed how to shoot at age 8. I am 60 now. In a wheelchair. I will keep USCCA rest my life. I never had to use my gun . I pray I don't. Found out that if you qualify for a public defender, you may request an outside attorney to represent you on the states dime. We had a murder in LaCrosse county, and the murderer did this. Had never heard of it before .... and at one point in life, I let go of my public defender and scraped together $2,000 to get an attorney that is more directed at one field. (defense) Found out, I could have requested outside council and may have wound up with him anyway. I wasted $2,000.

The best choice for the tow truck driver is what the lawyer said. I'm going to call my boss to see I we can do anything about the price. Then pull up the windows, lock the door(s) and call 911. I'm surprised this tow truck driver, especially if he's been doing this job for a long time, didn't use this tactic before this incident. As well, I would not have pulled out the gun. If you don't want to go to jail, while being a licensed, trained, and responsible, gun owner gun owner, you MUIST have a ROCK-SOLID reason for pulling out your gun, especially if you need to use it. A prosecutor really believes that a tow-truck operator would threaten people with a gun for no reason? No way. Everyone knows that people get angry and inclined to violence when their truck gets repossessed for non-payment, this prosecutor clearly thinks the law only exists to protect pacifists and anyone who won't just lay down and let themselves be brutalized they have the attitude "well what do you need the law for? The law isn't to help you, it's to punish you". One reason to consider a small pocket carry is you can get your grip on a sidearm.
chances are if they were acting really aggressively there is a good possibility some of them have a history of some sort of violence wich can come into court if they take the stand as i understand it.
Consider prior to arrival at the scene during the call requesting the tow describing possible tow fees and questioning the client about proceeding given this information.

It has become increasingly dangerous for wrecker drivers when going out for a call. Some States have required that a cop HAS to be out on that call before the driver gets to the vehicle. Check w/Ur town or city to be clear on that & if it hasn't been made a rule talk w/the Chief or the Mayor or Governor. At first It's mainly so the driver can be safe from an oncoming vehicle but now these ppl don't want to pay either so now that's included. My husbands buddy has been attacked several times while he was alone Bcuz the person didn't want to pay for the tow. I know in this video, those thugs didn't want to pay at all.!! There's a lot of new rules in the Towing business, U gotta stay safe. God bless U.

More facts…what was going on….how close were they… what were they doing, physically, that caused you to feel threatened….what were they saying….did you have any other options, etc…. Frankly, I think this is a pretty bad set of circumstances for USCCA to present in a video to discuss what should have been done….my personal opinion… And by the way, I am staunchly Pro 2A and Pro the right to defend yourself….

Dash cam should be standard in all heavy duty vehicles. Should be in all vehicles but commercial vehicles should have cameras with 360 coverage because people are overly litigious and commercial vehicles are an easy target. What tow truck driver doesn’t know local law enforcement? Sounds like there’s more to the story or there’s a history we’re not being told about.
