Eonon is selling rebuilt units as brand new ones! If some component have failed inside and other customer has sent it back because of warranty, they fix it by amateur level soldering tactics and reselling that broken unit, as new one to another customer! I got such experience myself! Connected subwoofer and it didn't worked, then opened the unit and found out, they have resoldered wires inside and smd components (transistor) missing. So they have tried to get it working and sold the unit as brand new! So just bare in mind, when purchasing from Eonon!

The 5cd changer actually never worked in the car so I had taken it out. I didn’t connect the nav right away because I won’t use maps through the head unit, I’m always using maps from apple carplay.

Hey man just got this installed and was wondering if you had any audio problems? I cant get any audio to go through the only thing i can think of is a pin connector (like yours at 3:37) that just sits there connected to nothing.
You would have had to buy the head unit that came with wireless CarPlay. Some models are sold with wired only. See if you can go back and see which one you bought. I can explain how to connect it if you have a wireless one.
I just read about it online. It looks like the factory nav screen works between e38, e53 and e39. I would assume if the factory nav screen works then the harness is probably the same.
@@jackbowescinema8002 thank you for your reply. I thought the same too as the original units were interchangeable between those three vehicles. However, Eonon hasn’t mentioned the E38 anywhere else on their website and I wonder if it’s because of the unit frame they use and the way it connects to the side with their own mounting bracket could be the reason why. E38 doesn’t have a gap between the AC/HVAC unit and the audio system like the E39 does. I’ve sent them an email just in case.
Did you experience any sound issues when turning on the unit? I hooked up everything right, yet there is no sound and I have been going back and forth with Eonon support :(
@@jackbowescinema8002 Yes i do have DSP. I switched back to the Dynavin just to make sure the amp wasn’t blown and it works just fine. Eonon support has had me do several changes in the settings involving the CANBUS unit and factory reset of the unit, but still no sound.
@@SiMPLYStEEZ from what I’m seeing you have to keep the factory dsp unit wired in to get it to turn on. Most people are hooking the 3 wires up and keeping it in the back with the amp.

I installed the CarPlay first and then obdII scanner. The result was, it wouldn’t connect to the cpu no matter how much I tried. I then turned my phone, which is the source of Wi-Fi for the head unit off and after a few minutes, the obd paired and torque started connecting with the cpu. Is there the setting you know about, which would allow the scanner or torque app, connect to the CPU while you’re connected to the car play? I’d appreciate any information you can share about this.

Ive seen people use the same unit but had to remove the backseats and the carpet in order to run the wiring back to the trunk. Is this a different one ?

The ends of the wires on the 2003 cars are different from what I know. Connections will also be different if it’s a 540 or an m5, the wires have different ends

@@OhioBallKnower it doesn’t output wifi if that’s what you’re trying to do. Shut your phone off all the way and try to turn on WiFi. That is what I had to do. Or you can turn off carplay on your phone.
Is yours definitely a CarPlay head unit? I would first try wired CarPlay with the USB port that came labeled as CarPlay. The zlink app may be in the App Store. I can do some research and get back to you with more info.

I was looking for an application in the App Store but I did not find it; / I also have a problem with wifi when I share data transmissions on an android phone, the radio catches wifi but when i share it with an iphone it does not catch wifi. I do not know why it is like that ;/
It just went up to that here too. I’m not sure why. The r49 pro is still a good price though. I have not used that one but I’m guessing it’s very similar

For your 2nd question yes, you can play the radio and have apple maps open.
You should show us how to wire tap and install ambient lighting kits to clear those gaps
I actually moved the bracket around and got most of the gaps away. But yes the unit is plug and play.

I got the radio from your link. Is there something else I need to get for CarPlay and wireless CarPlay? Also the torque app?
You need to connect to Bluetooth and then also WiFi. Airplay is under the zlink app. The torque app needs a WiFi OBD2 reader.

It’s relatively close. I have people ask how I got carplay in the factory nav screen
They are rgb, so you can fine tune that yourself. You can also adjust the brightness. I got mine pretty damn close, you didn't notice it.

This plugged into the factory harness. I didn’t need to cut or wire anything besides run 3 wires for an aftermarket subwoofer.

I’m not sure. It’s a pretty straight forward job so any car audio shop would be good.

Yes you will need a new amp. They are cheap online and at pick and pull junk yards. Mine went out a couple weeks ago and got a new amp for $30

Yes, everything is wired up to the factory amp. I have a subwoofer added also that I have a separate amp for.

@@Jagonzo97 I would think it would bypass the dsp. The radio should output a signal regardless the dsp just doesn’t recognize it.
