Once it is done I will post on you tube the whole experience. The essential functions are there, but may not have some of the remote control functions
Make sure you do not have DSP! I’ve been hearing of people having issues when they have DSP because it needs a special head unit. The one I have is disconnected but the r49pro seems to be about the same.
I just installed the unit, love the wireless apple carplay. I noticed tho the sound quality has changed dramatically. Its almost as if there is no bass in the car, but the audio is very crisp and loud, is that why you fooled around with the EQ settings?
I didn’t notice a difference in bass, just way more clear. My factory subwoofer has always been broken so that could be the reason I didn’t hear a difference. Have you tried messing with the EQ?
I had to mess with the EQ because the factory speakers were distorting because there was actually too much bass. I put in an aftermarket subwoofer which was super easy and music sounds so much better.
i have similar aliexpress unit for my prelift E39 1998 for about 140$. Works great. All of them uses Zlink or similar. i have one problem connecting and it was my phone not the unit. I need to reboot my iphone to work again.

Hello Jack, after having this head unit for about 6 months, I have faced with another issue which has to do with using phone (Bluetooth). The problem is when I am talking with others I am told my voice heard on the other side cutting in and out. Do you have the same issue and more important do you know the solution with the setting to fix this?
@@jackbowescinema8002 Thank you for the reply. Interesting you would say that, I actually did try a different mic and got the same bad result. That tells me there is actually either something wrong with the microphone system of these head units, or perhaps there is a hidden setting needing to be adjusted and we don’t know about!
I just changed a setting in the “factory setting”, under “voice”, , as you probably know, using code 126, and it made a world of difference in the quality of microphone. I lowered the mic level to 5 and it seems like that did the trick and mic works great now. Hopefully it works for you too!

@@jackbowescinema8002 I have installed two microphones; one by the overhead dome light, by the home access module (I believe it was originally used by the factory, and one by the speedometer and gauges. I know it’s a pain to keep taking the unit out and switch the wire for each mic, but I go back and forth between the locations trying to decide which one gives me a better reception and of course statically nicer. Let me know if you want me to send you photos.

My phone Bluetooth phone shows “no connection” because CarPlay is active and I can not pair the obdII scanner to the headunit because of the CarPlay being active. I am wondering if you or anyone else has contacted EONON tech support whether there is setting that needs to be corrected or may be they just need to come up with a fix for the unit.
I believe that any carplay you are connected to doesn’t let you use Bluetooth at the same time. Im not positive but from what I have read online it’s an issue with everything.
@@jackbowescinema8002 Goog point, here is what I found on Google: “CarPlay uses Bluetooth to set up the connection between the phone and the vehicle and then it switches to use the WiFi for the actually functionality.”. It seems like both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi give way to CarPlay.
@@jackbowescinema8002 I don't believe the version of Android different matters to much for what it needs to do. The price in UK at moment is about £230...., Would that difference in screen Resolution be so noticeable? Got more Ram ...3gb...and I believe the octacore should be faster then the quadcore. What your opinion. Thank you
@@meguinness1116 I think side by side you may see a difference but not by itself. I don’t have any issues with it lagging because of too little ram. Having more may be nice if you are going to use it for TH-cam or Netflix.
took a look at the website to buy this unit and saw a bunch of angry amazon customers saying its a 50/50 chance at buying Chinese garbo i really want this one but i really dont like getting scammed
You said you have to turn your phone off completely or else it would connect to CarPlay and won’t let you connect to WiFi. Turn Bluetooth off so it won’t connect Also which unit did you get? You never added the link

I never ended up mounting in. I have seen plate bracket attachments though!
For the wifi issue - have you tried diasbling carplay on the iphone instead of switching it off?
I did try that but it kept turning back on in my phone. I’ll update my phone and see if it works! Thank you!

I think the mic is really bad. I’ve just been using my phone on speaker until I can try another mic.

Aye bro quick question, I just bought this head unit and I was wondering how u wired the sub to the head unit, any tips would help thanks!!
I just used the sub output from the harness you get! Then ran those wires to the trunk.
What type of sub did you use?

It looks like the pro has an older version of android. The non pro actually seems better because of newer android and a higher resolution display.

From what I’ve heard I think the issues come from people buying this and having the DSP system in their car.
