I live in downey, and my grandmother was born here in 1907 when there was hardly anything around. It's sad to see its demise, but like others have stated. There are 2 new shopping centers located nearby.

Had many birthdays at Farrells in the 70’s, ate many dinners with my family at Hollanders cafeteria in the 70’s/80’s and would ride my bike to the Hello Kitty store in the 80’s

I am a 90s kid and lived in Downey until my late teens does anyone remember the food court had like a gas station theme? There used to be fuel pumps I don't know if it's still like that but I remember going there for holiday shopping it was always hard during the holidays finding a parking spot. I think they had a DZ Discovery Zone at some point too. Good times.

These malls today with the 2000’s refreshes are almost too bright. I miss the dark interiors, dark finishes.

Another great video! I think the reason why Stonewood is declining is because there are 2 open-air shopping centers (Downey Landing and The Promenade) right down the street from Stonewood. Some of the stores that were at the mall moved to the newer Promenade shopping center.
