Welcome back to the one & only Accelerate Honda Civic EP3 Type R!
We have some more track prep modifications in this episode, as well as some science!
Intakes/induction kits are a vital part of any build, so it's important to get it right! The Civic currently has a Hybrid Racing intake (which is now for sale) but Kemny wanted to take it one step further, and see if we could better the setup for our needs.
Inspired by the Gears & Gasoline TH-cam channel; Kenny wanted to fit a D.I.Y alternative to many other intakes on the market. To make things even more interesting, we will be putting the Civic back on the dyno to see which intake is best, with proof!

Neither can we dude! We've heard more than one source say this is the best option, but you're right, a cold air feed is definitely needed!
Kenny wants a normal colair feed from the whole he cut in the bumper, then a spare headlight for with a cold air feed for track 👌

@@accelerateyoutube VTEC is the one 😁 I find the fn2 isn't as vocal as the ep3. Plus I have the tegiwa cai, but it's just a bigger carbon air box on the fn2 with a direct feed into it. Quiet VTEC noises for me 😪😂 keep it up guys. Loves it

Use a grommet for the IAT, fits like stock.

Good video I've just bought everything to do a similar thing for my ep3 but using 3.5" pipe and skunk 2 velocity stack
Do you have the link to the gears and gasoline video? Can't seem to find it
Couldn't you put the sensor in the silicone reducer? as it's flexible you should be able to push it in and it not come out?
I was thinking that but it's now close the the original position. I thought it would make more sense putting it in the pipe.

Could of used a rubber grommet to secure the sensor done it with my EK4 before when I made up an intake pipe

Just picked up an ep3 today. I dont like the ebay air intake probably making me lose power
They definitely need a cold feed and the correct map. I have switched back to the Hybrid Racing Intake as my map needed tweeking for the DIY one.
