My husband drives a forklift, and we raised three children. His 401k, has done well even contributing 12%, and no catch ups. We won't be adding a wing at the local hospital, but should have a fairly secure retirement.
One of my sons is excellent with finances. He has his house payments but everything else he puts the brakes on. He makes excellent money but lives like a church mouse. So proud!
If money is tight, and you want to go out to eat, do this. Think about what meal you want when you go out. Let's say Chicken Parm. Now go to the grocery store, buy the things to make it, and cook it up yourself. No need to buy in bulk, unless you want to eat it multiple times. Regardless, you're going to be saving a lot of money per dish. Chicken parm dish at a restaurant, probably costs around $25-$35, depending where you live. If you cook it, I guarantee it will cost around 5 dollars.
Hey Team Ramsey Solutions - I need to tell you... I have struggled all my life to learn and know some of the concepts you talk about here. I grew up super poor (plss poor - low income housing) with parents who were deadbeats and didn't really know this stuff themselves, let alone, how to teach it to us kids and I always dreamed of someday digging out of that lifestyle and making something of myself while creating a life worth living. The problem was - I didn't know what I didn't know so then I didn't know the questions I should be asking, I didn't know the concepts I was missing, I didn't know all those things that successful people teach their kids that I very definitely missed out on so as much as I tried and as hard as I worked at it, I just seemed to always stay in the same spot - always spinning my wheels and never being able to dig out of that rut of poverty that I so dreamed of moving on from. Crazy enough, this life has followed me into my 40's and here I am, still struggling but I've been praying about it and working very hard to overcome my holdbacks. Wildly enough, the Lord answered a big prayer for me this December 2024 when I got laid off at a job I absolutely hated. Where some people would have lost their minds over it (former me would have done this too), I was able to get unemployment for 12 wks and because of that, I am choosing to make the best of it. I am recognizing this as my chance to sit down and dig into some good TH-cam videos and books and to really set sail on that journey toward becoming the person I've always wanted to be - including physically, mentally, financially, and everything in between. Yes, I've been watching a lot of financial freedom videos (mostly my favorite - David Greene Real Estate) but what I realized was that I was missing so much more than that financial aspect... I was missing the foundational life principles, processes, procedures - habits, systems, organizational skills. Nobody had ever even taken the time to teach me that and THAT is what I am realizing, I need first if I'm ever going to move beyond my current state of who I am as a person. I have watched a boat load of videos in my quest to learn these things and to help me work on my growth and development both personally and professionally but none of them have yet compared to the content you brought in this video. Thank you for sitting down and doing this and for keeping it on the middle shelf where most all of us can relate, understand the concepts, and then apply, and execute. I'd sure give the world for you to go back through and do a full video series that literally just takes us back to square one and teaches us those concepts that successful parents teach their kids that the rest of us are missing out on. Yes, we need the financial aspect and we'll get there - but at the moment, I desperately need the foundational basic concepts on just how to be a successful person as a whole in life, how to organize my time, how to set habits in motion... all those seemingly logical and "understood" concepts that not all of us got growing up. THIS is my chance to re-invent myself and who I am for the next 12wks while I' on unemployment. THIS is my chance to become the person I've always wanted to be but I need your help with a video series that just goes back to square one and teaches all those basics... (*** Disclaimer: I am working on getting my real estate agents license this next 12 weeks, as well as a Medical Risk Management certification (extremely hard course and test to pass) and then I am also doing a few other things so rest assured, I'm not sitting back or sitting still... this is just my chance that the Lord gave me to really dig in deep and re-invent myself life I've always wanted to). Thank you for putting this video together - out of all the content out there on this topic, this one is by far, the best one I've seen so far. Thank you soooo much!!
Serious question…does Rachel need more life insurance on her hubby from Zander? Does she need any life insurance at all? How much $$ will she need to survive? I believe she will be fine once pappa Dave moves on to his next life. That being said, I do believe it’s important for most people. Just not everyone.
Wilson is the one to take care of his own family (Rachel and kids), not Papa Dave! It is up to Wilson to make sure his income is appropriately replaced in case of his early demise. Rachel is not living off of her daddy, that would be quite hypocritical of her (and the whole Ramsey family for that matter)! I am sure if something happened to hubby prematurely, she would want to AT LEAST maintain her current lifestyle for her and the kids for as long as possible... Not just survive!!! lol
Thanks for the breakdown! Could you help me with something unrelated: My OKX wallet holds some USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). How can I transfer them to Binance?
If I choose to dabble in Government Legislation Approved P2P platform for SMEs using just 1% of my liquid assets would that be OK? I have no debts at all.
Here we go 14 minutes 26 seconds and you can make 25 bucks at target no you can’t you only gotta be working at 30 years if you work there 30 years maybe once you put in your 30 years you’ll be making 2025 but you’re starting out peanuts at the target at the Walmart and all these kinds of stores. How do I know I’ve been there I have boots on the ground. I’ve done my research. They absolutely don’t start anywhere near 20 bucks out.
And you get zero benifits and no vacation time off, no 401k. Its bullshit honestly. People should be getting atleast the bare minimum on benifets and rights
OK, I’m cool with that. I’m here in Texas. I never call you any names man you don’t need to call me a troll but if it makes you feel better go for it. It’s all good no worries.
Once again, Dave is wrong seven minutes and 59 seconds in absolutely wrong. I researched it and I keep in and I google does solar panels increase the value of one person’s home. The answer was yes by more than 4%. That is a fact sorry I was absolutely wrong once again. WRONG I recommend everyone who listens to these guys take all what they say and do and recommend with a grain of salt. Thank you you all out.
Not in my area. Solar panels don't increase the house's value. The only way they make sense is if you're young and pay cash. The solar panel guy gave us the run around for 30 minutes before he would give us a cash price. Plus at our age solar panels don't make sense.
I swear, The Hidden Path to Manifesting Financial Power is one of the best books I’ve read. It’s life-changing.
Manifesting! 😆 it contradicts Dave's message for this show...
Going out to eat is entertainment not nutrition. Thats a great quote.
dave i drove forklift for 45 years raised 4 daugthers bought 3 homes and retired at 58 on forklift pay
What state did you raise your kids in?
Congrats🎉 Great example of how good decisions and financial planning can work! 🎉

In my area a pool is a liability as well as solar panels. The caller wants to take the easy way out by selling her home.
What's you area?
Don’t think Targets paying $25 an hour Dave
It doesn’t lol I would quit teaching in a heartbeat.
Thank u AGREE
Thank you about the no $25!!!!
GREAT FACT THANK U
They are starting people at $17 in Los Angeles and Probably in the East coast or San Francisco yes paying more like $25 an hour.
Brenda went out to eat for every meal, that nervous laughter and talk lol
Please make Every Dollar available in Jamaica

I thought the backbone was in the sporting goods section at Walmart.
Yeah, that first gal ain't changing any part of her lifestyle.
At all
15:16 when dave clicks on that girl 😂😂😂🙏
So I am curious supposed someone wants to talk to them how do they do it ?
Sell the Denali to pay on the credit cards and downsize the house.
The amount of commercials on this one
I was about to type this! They’ve really ramped up the ads.
Managed out??
Thanks for the breakdown! Could you help me with something unrelated: My OKX wallet holds some USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). How can I transfer them to Binance?
Is this Newspeak?
DAVE, are you of the melungeon race ?
He don't read the comments 🤨
If I choose to dabble in Government Legislation Approved P2P platform for SMEs using just 1% of my liquid assets would that be OK? I have no debts at all.
Heck yes. Dabble in the ol' GLAP2PP4SMEs with your LAs. It's tried and true!
❤
Sorry for any of my typos
hi
Jacob, do a 30 year mortgage and do the deal now
I tend to agree with this. Just put extra money toward the mortgage every month and you will pay it off significantly sooner.
I'm doing that now, bought my first house in September.
I don’t have a dad. Dave is my dad from past year😇
Here we go 14 minutes 26 seconds and you can make 25 bucks at target no you can’t you only gotta be working at 30 years if you work there 30 years maybe once you put in your 30 years you’ll be making 2025 but you’re starting out peanuts at the target at the Walmart and all these kinds of stores. The target in my city pays $20. Close enough troll
@@moni-b1t4u how do you know? You work there ?
OK, I’m cool with that. I’m here in Texas. I never call you any names man you don’t need to call me a troll but if it makes you feel better go for it. It’s all good no worries.

Funny how you also said ' I' so bye troll
I guess you don’t know what hyperbole is
You use Google as your source of information!?🤣🤣🤣🫵🤡
