When I loaned money for major house repairs to my close family member, I wrote up a loan agreement, charged a small amount of interest, used an amortization table, had it signed by that person and notarized.Gave that person a copy. Yup, I do the exact same thing with my best friend who “rents” a room in my house. Technically he lives with our family, we call him uncle to our kid, but the rental agreement makes it clear how much he contributes to the house

Raise your hand if you’ve been following Dave’s steps for months and still haven’t mastered the 'budgeting' part? 😂🙋 - All jokes aside, budgeting is hard but it's a must if you want to get to the next level - a lot of sacrifice on the way to the top.
I’m sitting here playing grand theft auto 5 on PlayStation and I hear this intro song kick on in the game and immediately thought “wait that’s the Dave Ramsey intro isn’t it?!” So here I am 😂😂
At 55, I'm from southeastern Ohio but have worked internationally for most of my career. With $500,000 in savings, I'm ready to retire, although I'm worried about the rising inflation. Is this enough to retire well, or should I seek professional money management?
I'd recommend money management just to be safe. You're only 55, and with the average life expectancy in the U.S. around 77.5 years, but many living into their 80s, that $500k needs to last you for a long time, including any unexpected expenses. It's a solid start though-well done!
I've been lucky to get an early start in personal finance. I began working at 19 and bought my first house at 28. When I was laid off at 36, right after the COVID outbreak, I immediately hired an advisor with determination to help me stay afloat. Today, my portfolio is up over 300%, worth $836k. Keep the motivation strong, friends!
I've partnered with Tracy Britt Cool Consulting as my CFA, and all the info you need is available online. Although some may feel like their goals are out of reach this year, I'm convinced it's still possible to reach six figures if you stay focused. I was initially reluctant to have someone else manage my finances, but I'm glad I made that choice.
I’m a mother in law and I babysit my grandchildren a couple of days a week. While I’m there I do dishes, toddler’s laundry, clean toilets, cook and other things. My son in law and daughter is very grateful for the help. I just happen to love helping and cleaning. I’ve done similar things for my son and daughter-in-law, but they live a little further away. I think it is different for a daughter-in-law, although she lives very close to her mother and father and they do many things for them. It doesn’t seem to bother my son. We are all very close, so it depends on each family dynamic. There might be more going on than we know about. I’m even very good friend’s with my son-in-law’s mother, which is very unusual. I’m grateful and they seem to be grateful for each other. ❤️
I don't think there's anything missing different dynamics..the caller's mother is doing this UNSOLICITED..She overstepped that boundary once she entered with her key after her son married. Your daughter and son in law welcome and need the assistance you're providing. You're not sneaking in the house without discussion

My dad died broke after living 82 years and was addicted to hunting despite earning a lot of money every month. Then his taxidermy was sold for pennies on the dollar.
I was glad when they mentioned Marie from Everybody Loves Raymond, in regards to Abigail's call. When i was listening thay was the first thing i thought with the whoke scenario.
Dave, you said gunfire on a Saturday in your neighborhood is very common. Is hickok45 one of your neighbors? He might be shooting more than on just Saturdays
Ok but in some states you have to pay for tags before you go out regardless if you get anything, and that can be so expensive and end up being a waste. Really really have to be careful with saying hunting saves money because it’s so expensive.
Again, in lawsuits, you just get your money back. However, they are long... drawn out... and the police investigate and approve them. Other than that when you demand money, the law is "extortion"
You can feel like you're having a crisis at any age is he going thru tougher things compared to you or other people maybe not but that doesn't mean that what he is feeling doesn't matter instead of bashing we should try to teach and motivate so we can all become a better country and society just my opinion.
@@Galactus23 His comment totally flew over your head didn't it? You should have paid more attention to the midlife part than the crisis part. Hopefully for his sake he's got another couple of decades before he reaches midlife.
I love john but his numbers are way off on processing and taxidermy are WAY off. I don't pay for processing or taxidermy but the butchers in my area start at 125 for basic and up from there and taxidermy is 495 and up.
@moni-b1t4u 100 bucks says a professional butcher isn't doing a job for less than $100. And your right I live in rural Missouri not Nashville 🤣🤣🤣 I'm sure it's definitely cheaper in a major Metropolitan area.
@zachsifferman5105 Probably right about that 😁 I remember in my childhood my dad was an avid hunter. We loved the deer meat he brought home until one year it was so horrible, we wouldn't eat it because he went to a cheaper place. He was so mad at us but we refused; same as when he tried to make us eat squirrel. City children don't play that.
There’s groups in our area and they will process the meat themselves. It’s like a whole weekend thing with about 20-30 people. Some can’t hunt, some can’t help dress, but there’s always enough helping to get it all done.
Correct me if I’m wrong but I think John relationship with Dave is more of a friend like relationship, and with George it’s more like a boos and employee relationship ?
Question of the day! Guys sometimes yall act a fool for entertainment reason I respect that, but yall do need to ask a few questions also. Does the wife really know the true stories? My brother “bought” a house prior to marriage using my parents money via a loan. They had arrangements on how the yard must be kept house up kept inside because of bugs and rodents possibilities. He always told everyone he bought the house he told girlfriends and wife even though parents bought it and he paying them back very very slow. He always asked my mother to help out at the house because him and wife worked to much he asked before marriage and durning. So I wouldn’t assume without more info if the wife really even knows what’s going on in the house she moved into with husband. Maybe wife is overbearing and he don’t want drama with her so he makes his momma the bad person. My brother worked 60-70 a week always tired his wife worked 30-40 always exhausted to do housework lol so brother asked mother for help. Couple years into marriage it hit the fan when his wife confronted my parents about them blocking all their ideas for the house even though it’s her house with her husband. Parents laughed thought she was playing a joke until she got more made at thanksgiving of course. Brother and few of the other guys went out for some supplies Kmart if you remember them. She tried calling out my parents infront of 40 friends and family and she got embarrassed because my parents nicely stated they liked the upgrade ideas for the house but they are living beyond their means something my brother told her many times before but she didn’t care to listen. She kept calling it our house and parents corrected her that they own the house son making payments to buy the house but since they got together they haven’t made a full payment in years because her bad spending habits and her husband asked for help keeping the house clean because he was working to much and when he was home wife needed constant attention cause she was lonely since he worked to much but she was tired to much to clean working 30-40 hours a week. Yes brother was to blame because he didn’t want to cause drama either way so he caused it both ways. Marriage counselor said wife comes first and since she is in a depression not to confront her about issues until she is better. Not saying the commenter was in similar situation but not always one sided.
She's not far off with those numbers! The last time I got a deer processed it was $169 and that's what kicked off me processing all my own animals! $1,000 is decent for a taxidermy!!
33:50 the hunting comment is wild. The $200 is nothing - I paid $212 to my butcher this year but calculated I received about $820 worth of meat when compared to the equivalent amount in beef. I do my deer mounts myself though and just did my deer for under $25. The guy should learn to do his himself too. More rewarding anyhow! EDIT: unfortunately Jon is wrong on the price though. $212 is the cheapest butcher around here. All depends on where you live
Sorry I’m not very picky like most women I’m not very picky at all as a matter fact I live in my car for almost 5 to 6 years and I’m doing fantastic. Finally got me a place but I was homeless and live in my car for almost 5 to 6 years no worries that don’t kill you make you strong. It’s all out of mindset and your attitude. God bless.
Dave Ramsey always goes at the men majority of the time and is not hard on the woman generally! It bothers me that he doesn’t keep the same energy towards the woman and waters shit down a lot more He generally blames the man for the financial mistakes made by the caller
Amazing video, A friend of mine referred me to a financial adviser sometime ago and we got talking about investment and money. I started investing with $120k and in the first 2 months , my portfolio was reading $274,800. Crazy right!, I decided to reinvest my profit and gets more interesting. For over a year we have been working together making consistent profit just bought my second home 2 weeks ago and care for my family.
I’ve been forced to find additional sources of income as I got retrenched. I barely have time to continue trading and watch my investments since I had my second daughter. Do you think I should take a break for a while from the market and focus on other things or return whenever I have free time or is it a continuous process? Thanks...
Quitting may not be the best approach if you ask me personally .When it comes to investment, diversification is key. That is why I have my interests set on key sectors based on performance and projected growth. They range from the EV sector, renewable energy, Tech and Health (AMD) alongside coins, and gold. I'm also working on an investment plan with my CFA that includes AI looking into Nvidia, MSFT, Alphabet stocks among others. I've been utilizing CATHERINE DIANE PELICAN advice for years and I've made over $1 000,000. I could leave you a lead if you need advice help...

I love john but his numbers are way off on processing and taxidermy are WAY off. I don't pay for processing or taxidermy but the butchers in my area start at 125 for basic and up from there and taxidermy is 495 and up.
100 bucks says ' your area ' isn't John's area
Amen to that!
There’s groups in our area and they will process the meat themselves. It’s like a whole weekend thing with about 20-30 people. Some can’t hunt, some can’t help dress, but there’s always enough helping to get it all done.
Unless it’s family land or something irreplaceable.
So what if people live in campers and cars.
Glad you mentioned Everybody Loves Raymond because that is exactly what I thought of.
Dave seems to be feeling slightly savage today.
55:10 If the husband is "a wuss" and "a child", then why'd she marry him? What does it say about her that she chose "a wuss" and "a child".
Then it’s gonna be a Thsnk you that’s why never let a family borrow money
Most men would be happy living in their cars. That's the truth.😂
Why are most men so clueless?
Sorry I’m not very picky like most women I’m not very picky at all as a matter fact I live in my car for almost 5 to 6 years and I’m doing fantastic. Finally got me a place but I was homeless and live in my car for almost 5 to 6 years no worries that don’t kill you make you strong. It’s all out of mindset and your attitude. God bless.
speak for yourself. My butt is living in a house.....a BIG house !!
If he wants to hunt but he does not have to mount it
You were way too kind to the mooch that has been squandering his parent’s wealth. What a punk!
I don't know where John lives, but I'm in MT which is DEER COUNTRY and you ain't gettin' a deer processed for $75...
Haven't paid less than $5 since 2020.
I'm pretty sure I married Hope's husbands brother!
First call is a joke, my god.
Dave Ramsey always goes at the men majority of the time and is not hard on the woman generally!
It bothers me that he doesn’t keep the same energy towards the woman and waters shit down a lot more
He generally blames the man for the financial mistakes made by the caller
Dave commenting about the sound of gunfire on a Saturday...LOL. Something tells me he has been known to fire a gun or two.
I don't think making hordes of keys to someone's apartment is a good practical joke :( what if someone keeps it
They weren’t real keys to her apartment.
You really that slow?
@@ricko2301I think they do not understand the the concept.
South Africans, let's mark the register!!
@@MontgomerysMaddens Oh please I’d love that. Thanks!
