I think some Epica ballads are even better! Namely "Safeguard to Paradise" and "Trois Vierges". Wonderful melodies, orchestral arrangements and Simone's voice is just out of this world!

This is among the most beautiful songs I have ever heard. The vocals are so expressive and emotional that I imagine a stone could be moved to tears. It's wonder she can sing it without crying. I feel the same about The Loon by Aesma Daeva, which I would recommend if you like this.

This is a so underrated song :(
It's not underated - it's just that it hasn't been heard enough to be rated at all.Nobody plays it, no radio stations have aired it, western and U.S. outlets have ignored it or are ignorant of this amazing song, this amazing band and the stupendously talented Simone Simons. It's a bloody tragedy but who's fault is it.?
It's a corrupt, skewed and top down led, media manipulated music business and record industry that's who. You NEVER hear epica or simone simons played or mentioned on standard UK media outlets here such as BBC, ITV , Channel four or channel five. When they play live in this country, they perform to tiny audiences of perhaps a hundred or so at max (I saw them in Sheffield play to just such a pittance of people).
Ir's both a scandal and deeply insulting both to them, and their loyal Dutch/internarional audience base, and distorts completely the world wide music market..
Whilst the same few eletist and doctrinaire individuals are in charge of the BBC, ITV, Channel Four etc in UK (and in States) who don't reflect the tastes of other global audience bases such as those listening to Metal (thus ignoring bands of,the calibre of Epica, Within Temptation, Nightwish and artists of the quality of Anneke van Geersenbergen, Kari Rueslatten, Simone simons, Sharon den adel , Tarja Turunem, Floor Jansen and Nicoletta Roselleni (the world will be deprived of a monumental cohort of hyper talent and creative and physical beauty - and we will ALL be the poorer for it.
SO ..... Once it's properly recognised, promoted, properly aired and properly heard (by large numbers of people) then this marvellous music can be properly rated and appreciated for the sheer genius and musical richness that it represents.
Don't hold your breath though.
