Thank you for posting this. I just needed to change a headlight bulb. Before watching this video, I had a hard time pulling the bulb out, and broke some of the plastic on the plug. Didn't want to breaking it more by trying to remove it the wrong way. Seeing how you did it gave me the info I needed to pull it out, and the rest was easy.
I actually have to replace the front bumper cover on my '03, so this was pretty helpful to me, as the grill and headlight assemblies have to be removed to get to it. Thanks!
Spot on details! Thanks for the bit about the grill clips. They have always been an issue. Reversing the procedure is a pain but if you think like you were assembling the car to begin with, you realize that the clips would already be placed in the grills and snapped in. The headlight plugs took some major wiggling and a brief prying from a flathead to get the old ones out but everything went back on perfectly. Thanks!
Yes, those plugs seem to find a way of welding themselves onto the backs of the light bulbs. The very first time I took them off years ago I almost broke the bulb, the connector and the headlight housing. After that, and EVERY TIME I now fill the holes in the connector with "Connector Protector" or dielectric grease (grease that conducts electricity) and also smear some on the three prongs of the bulbs before I snap them back together. After you do that that, they come off with two fingers and will never get stuck again.
Yes. I changed both my headlamp bulbs only, but it was a bit of a task. There is a retainer clip that was a bear to remove and reinsert, but I managed to do the job with a minimum of profanities. LOL!
Are the grilles for the 02/03 still available? One of mine is cracked, currently held together by glue. Also, does any parts supplier sell replacement dashboards for my 02 Galant? Thanks for your video.
Sorry for the late reply. You unplug the electrical connector, then pull off the rubber seal, and then there is a wire retainer that holds the bulb in, which you just sorta unhook and it flips out of the way.
I need some help in replacing my wire harness. Got this car from a guy and the car only has 58th original miles..his neighbors little Mexicans used his car for shelter smoking blunts and dreaming about driving and they just destroyed the interior burning it damn nar to the ground....car was givin to me and I have replaced all the interior to org...and brand new...I was just about to have this nice ass car and guess what ..? they vandalized the car again....has anybody done any wire replacement on their car and how much ...? I tnk almost all of this cars wiring has to be replaced and I can do it that's no problem...so ?? I'm looking for some incentive...lol..and tips on doing this job... I'm pot committed already
Um, these are not Eagle Eyes. And I've had them on my car for almost 3 years now without any kind of problem. I also did not pay for them, they were sent to me for free by the company in exchange for this installation video.
You can but you need to also swap over the headlights, foglights and grill. The bumpers will not just exchange since the grill and such differs. Only 02 and 03 bumpers directly swap by themselves since they are the same.

I still have my 2002 Galant, 210k miles, cant let it go lol I have had it since high school 2007. Thinking about wrapping it and hooking it up

Yeah, you can get the 02-03 grilles on Ebay. Not sure on the dash.
