Hi Goldin, my name Is Grayson. I just stumbled upon this video in my recommended videos on TH-cam. So I have my own VHS collection. I have over 500 vhs movies. So seeing this many in a collection is insane. I thought I had the most vhs movies. 😂🤣 My favorite thing to do is to go shopping for Vhs movies at Goodwill. They range from 49 cents to $2.00. It is a pretty good deal I think. Most of my Vhs movies are Disney movies. I love Disney! My mom goes crazy of how many VHS movies I have. If I had 17’000 she would go Balistic. I hope you see this comment and respond. It is pretty cool to see someone like vhs movies just like me probably even more than me. You inspire me to collect more vhs movies and get as many as you do even if my mom thinks I am a crazy person. 😅😂
Can I ask fella, do you all your vhs tapes still work perfectly? I've read online that vhs tapes begin to deteriorate somewhere between 10-15 years and will eventually in time become unplayable?
I am not sure about the Let It Be being pulled. I do know that during the VHS Machine sales of 1981 before the 1983-84 boom, that a free movie, One was The Muppet Movie, another was Let It Be, and I don't remember what the last one. Came with every purchase of the very expensive VCR. It was released in 1981 by Mag. Beatles somewhat broke up in 1969. I am a huge Beatles fan, and huge VHS Fan, I remember the promo. Being AMAZED that you could own a movie, and thought one day I will have my own library of maybe 5-6 movies. I started working in a mom and pop video store in 1984. But before VHS I owned RCA Selectavision Videodisc cause it was stereo, and had to watch Star Wars in stereo. A year later VHS became stereo. I love your VHS collection and as soon as I saw your special section I knew you were legit. I sold most of my VHS, but still have every format that came out VHS, CED, LASER, BLURAY, and some FILM, and 4K. The store I worked at started with 67 titles, and by the time I had left they were just coming up on 2,000. I remember every box cover, especially your special section with Jaws is a freaking classic. I remember the first VHS tape to have Macrovision. I worked one semester at a duplicating plant where we had the special job of making E.T. ready. And was on TV loading a skid during a news segmant for the release of the film. MCA came an installed special securiy cameras to be sure nothing would leak early. It had the green spools and we had new Hologram stickers of the Universal Logo that needed to be applied. This is the best collection I have ever seen. Thanks for sharing. Love it. - Toronto, Canada. PS: I am freaking out buddy, what a walk down memory lane. You know my dating profile was "Likes long romantic walks in Video Store." If you every get a chance to have a museum or give tours, I will be there. Depending on how things go, I may get a season pass. PPS: Oh man I was waiting for the NOTCH box of Star Wars where it would say VHS or BETA. I did not own that version. Byt I sold 90% of my VHS dukns slowly as I was purchasing Laser, but when DVD came out, even with it's compresses image quality that cause a lot of gradient on images that should be smooth, I knew it was game over for everything else, and speed up selling my VHS. I wished I kept Star Wars and a lot of my others. I still have a lot of the Video Store Demos they would give, especially from Paramount who had magazines basically on VHS almost every month. Warner did something similar. But by the time Jagged Edge, Return of the Jedi and Back To The Future were being released. Store screeners were replaced with actually showing and big events. I miss those days. Even the once a year big events they would have where you can get tones of SWAG from upcoming titles. I still have all our order magazines. And some of those events were so fun. You could get superimposed in the drivers seats beside Bruce Willis for Die Hard 3 trailer, or laying down on a blue box with a blue screen had you hanging from the ceiling like Tom Cruise in Mission Impossible. Your collection is bringing back a flood of memories. I hope to see more of your collection. I will take a look since I'm late to the game for this video. Sorry for the long comment.
I have little over a 1,000 VHS most horror. But my Holy Grail are movies from Venezuela they play fine on American VCRs. Wow 17,000! The most I had heard is 12,000 or so. Incredible VHS collection man it's unbelievable! Cool video!👍
I only have 1 VHS in my movie collection, that’s the McDonald’s version of the Land Before Time vhs with the Micky D’s sticker and sealed with Mca water marks.
When you get a VHS signed that is sealed, do you unwrap it so they autograph it directly on the sleeve or just have them sign the plastic? My fear with having them sign the plastic would be that it can easily tear or come off.
So basically the value is in the box artwork? Cause underneath the box is the same VHS that he has 20 copies of in his collection. I'll continue to buy my VHS at thrift stores and garage sales cause if I really wanat a specific movie I can easily buy it on dvd, Blu-ray or 4k.
Actually. Yes. Box, artwork and in some cases, label. I have an original Meatcleaver Massacre by Catalina. I’ve never seen another Catalina. I have Don’t Go Near The Park on Direct. That’s another I’ve never seen again. If you’re looking to start a collection the best genre to start with is horror as many movies came on super cheap labels that went defunct. I suggest snapping up things on the Paragon label as their “previews” were literally cut by the company by hand, it seems. Vestron, Lightning, Media, etc all have very distinct editions. I know vestron had 2 logos and bunches of variations over the years until like 1993ish. Essentially, this dude is collecting smart in that he’s got scarcity of commercial films.
Where is the other 16000?. You never stack slip covers like he did…it’s the worst possible way to store them as it puts too much pressure on the cardboard and causes bends on the spine.
What an intense collection. The obsession with variants runs deep. I resell books and media, including VHS tapes so I appreciated his depth of knowledge and passion. He also educated me about some VHS tapes I didn't know about. He must have a big house or pays for storage to maintain this collection. VHS tapes are a big part of American culture, so I can appreciate the interest in collecting, not to mention the plethora of cool art work. All you have to do is watch an episode of Friends, or any other older sitcom, and realize that VHS tapes were ubiquitous just 20 years ago.
I would say that probably 80% of the movies he has there CANNOT be streamed over the internet. Most of those movies would be in a conversation of, did you see that movie X ? Knowing more than likely that movie they are talking about cannot be streamed but having that physical copy is cool. Sadly most don't have VCR's anymore, few still run DVD/Bluray. They still make bluray till this day because i see the commercials (now on bluray) and i see them in the stores but i feel just like VHS has died off, that bluray at some point, maybe in the next ~5 yrs it will drop off. We have not purchased a bluray in ~17 yrs now ... I mean i still have about ~25 vhs tapes in my collection, mostly trilogy movies that will stand time, and i have 2 vcr's in my home, the last one i purchased in 2009 that was a vhs / dvd player with HDMI output. Still records and plays just fine. I think his collection is overkill but hey .... its nostalgia right
FYI !!! Brand new VHS titles are being released by smaller independent film companies that made Cherokee Creek , Jesus Christ -Vampire Hunter and other horror titles.
this channel is great comedy. i don't care about the other topics, but the vhs side... so much bullshit :D i mean, you can watch other vhs related channels and they present all those obscure tapes. movies that are literally only available on that format! and this dude holds harry potter and talks about PRETTY RARE releases :D
He doesn't seem to know a lot about VHS for someone with such a large collection. That isn't the first edition Halloween. The first pressing is on Meda, not Media. Most of the stuff this guy has is common junk

Meet the poser with a ton of commons. Wowwy.
Exactly
Post a video of your collection. Let's see what you got mate?
Yes, I agree, but he is doing a nice job of finding all those variants. 😁
I have little over a 1,000 VHS most horror. But my Holy Grail are movies from Venezuela they play fine on American VCRs. Wow 17,000! The most I had heard is 12,000 or so. Incredible VHS collection man it's unbelievable! Cool video!👍
17000 sealed commons
I only have 1 VHS in my movie collection, that’s the McDonald’s version of the Land Before Time vhs with the Micky D’s sticker and sealed with Mca water marks.
When you get a VHS signed that is sealed, do you unwrap it so they autograph it directly on the sleeve or just have them sign the plastic? My fear with having them sign the plastic would be that it can easily tear or come off.
Sealed by far for collectors, Goes the same for every collector items.
Very informative thank you a ton!
“You think other people hunt Gumbi VHS tapes?”
“No, probably not.”
Wow, you must have every single title on vhs under the sun!
Do you still get VHS?
I have two of the first star wars sealed. And also two of the empire strikes back sealed. Wonderful luck to have them sealed
Great collection amazing thanks for sharing this video
Oh my!
14:53
GREAT SCOTT
I have a VHS instructional movie of how to clean VCR heads
it’s extremely rare
Where is the other 16000?. You never stack slip covers like he did…it’s the worst possible way to store them as it puts too much pressure on the cardboard and causes bends on the spine.
I remember the good old days going to the video shop on a weekend to rent out a Film or a Wrestling Video those were the days
Great video!
Glad you enjoyed it
I will say I thought this was a great collection.......then you put it over the top as a Razorbacks fan.......good to see....Huge Hogs fan here myself
You're holding on to inventory if you don't get to use any of it. Open one of the seals and show us Jaws pop into the VCR
The sign stuff is cool..but will the price increase like certain golden age comics ? Wonder woman for example... Sensation comics # 2
Actually Cars was the Last VHS Ever Released back in Early 2007.
perfect collection
I remember the last VHS i bought was Collateral Damage and paid $35 for it at Walmart and thinking why the hell did I just do that lol
Last one I bought was an unopened Jurassic park one for the same price. Ain’t mad.
"This is a vhs of my conception and birth. Extremely rare."
This guy has 3 big toes and his head is one of them. Watermarks......lol
I think his collection is overkill but hey .... its nostalgia right
Awesome collection.
FYI !!! Brand new VHS titles are being released by smaller independent film companies that made Cherokee Creek , Jesus Christ -Vampire Hunter and other horror titles.
Looks like a Mom & Pop video store of the 1980's and 1990's.
Cool collection and some say I have too many movies on blu ray DVD and in 4K
how many times does this guy say: ''extremely rare to find'' but great collection by the way.
Amazing ❤
7:48 earlier than first edition? damn... sounds pretty rare.
this channel is great comedy. i don't care about the other topics, but the vhs side... so much bullshit :D
i mean, you can watch other vhs related channels and they present all those obscure tapes. movies that are literally only available on that format! and this dude holds harry potter and talks about PRETTY RARE releases :D
Fr
For a investor, it's quite depressing really 😂
Shoutout to my fellow Arkansan!
I wonder if he still has VHS movie nights going and what VCRs he owns.
My uncle was an extra in School Ties.
That isn't even a first edition Halloween. The first edition was under the Meda label, not Media.
Incredible!
Interesting facts!
I spit on your grave is a classic. Was lookin for the lord of the rings animated ones
I have clam shell 1986 Thorn EMI VHS tape of 1978 film "CONVOY" signed by C. W. McCall
He doesn't seem to know a lot about VHS for someone with such a large collection. That isn't the first edition Halloween. The first pressing is on Meda, not Media. Most of the stuff this guy has is common junk
After get old won't play anymore tapes gobbad
NICE!
