I love this video but to everyone who tries to paint pictures of their time being the happiest, yes the "Ignorance is Bliss" way of life truly was great I'm sure. I grew up in that era too. I'm sorry it takes more work to live in that view of the world. But if you want to bury your head in the sand and ignore reality, FYI that way of life is still partially possible by ignoring global news and any form of social media.
This is so wonderful, literally a time capsule of culture and entertainment. Feels so weird watching this as someone born multiple decades later, but feels nostalhic all at once.

49 years ago - graduated from college ready to join the new and exciting world of computers, just got engaged after being the maid of honor in a dozen weddings, watched all of the Christmas shows on TV, arrived a bit late at Midnight Mass but still got a front row seat, full of hope for the future. Oh, well. What a show! Cher proving to everyone that she can really sing and REALLY act! I knew that from the initial days of Sonny and Cher. Such beautiful costumes by Bob Mackie, great orchestra, singers who can actually sing in harmony, Redd Fox who made my dad laugh, wonderful arrangement and performance of "Silent Night". Thanks to all of the people involved in this celebration of the spirit of Christmas. And, may all of you watching this special performance have a happy and healthy new year!

Nobody gonna give some love to Red Foxx? The raunchiest and funniest comedian of his time till Lenny, George, Richard, and the rest carried on his humor, legacy, and courageous spirit! Cher was beautiful, this show was amazing, ahead of its time just like Red Foxx himself! If you haven’t looked up Red Foxx, he was a standup comedian saying things nobody dared to say, as a black man in racial times, and he laid the foundation for every comedian today! Look him up, and nice Xmas episode! Merry Christmas! Happy New Year!
Dec 1975, I got out of the Navy in June 1975 after Viet Nam war. Worked for $2.00 back in those days in private sector before Fed boy at State Dept and later Pentagon. Retired now nearly 9 years with grandchildren :) Cher did If I could turn back time, no we cannot Cher :) JWST shows galaxy redshifts out to 13 or so now. Space and time continue to expand, time marches on in an expanding universe :) Merry Christmas.
I was almost three weeks old living on a Coast Guard base in Kodiak, Alaska. My dad would be transferred about a month later to Oregon. Wouldn’t have mattered anyway, Kodiak didn’t get live tv in those days and I would have had to wait a couple weeks for the plane from Seattle carrying the tape to come up to see this show.
That is just bad ass. 🤘 so very nice to see a genuine happy sparkle in her eyes. I hope the middle eastern dreamer culture doesnt jump on the Rock and Roll wagon and carbon copy her now. Lord knows they get stuck in ancient doctrine and don't embrace blooming past their own past. Either way... prayer to you, Cher. You are always one of THE best!!!! ❤
