I'd like to thank Fruity Plum for carrying my run. I got a great one right as I was about to give the whole thing up.
I got the synergy I got. I feel like brimstone made it a little too easy, but then that's what "better items" means.
At some point in the boss rush I made a mistake and lost track of where the Stain was, so I did what I did. I wouldn't say that was cheating, since I had to repeat one wave as a punishment, so I'd say it was a fair trade off.

At first I used it only when I ran out of time to kill the boss, but the more I played, the more annoyed I got if I didn't get at least somewhat good items on the first floor. At some point around the end almost all I did was hold r.
