I decided to restart my ombre and I swear HB was whispering in my ear during my 10 vol bleach bath "sections...saturate....2 timers..." like a Jedi master. And the previous dye lifted beautifully while my coils are still intact and healthy. I love it here!! Best hair education channel 😍😍😍
People, people, people!!! By the time you go back to Sally's to get more stuff to fix this mess, you already spent more money, time and heartache, than going once to the hairdresser. Just treat yourself, it's totally worth it!!!
For about 15 years I colored my hair with box dye. Roughly 3.5yrs ago I started growing it out . . . Now I am happily my normal color and ALL THE GRAY! I'm 39 and cool with it. Hello from the US, love your videos!
Hi, Hair Buddha! A t-shirt featuring your classic phrase (and maybe a preppy little drawing of you on the upper left chest) would be perfect. Some other folks have classic phrases that always bring their voices to mind. For example, Judge Judy stating the obvious: "Reeeee-dick-u-lusss!" Carry on, and thanks for being you!
a member of staff at sally's once asked me why i was "only" buying 20vol developer for my naturally dark blonde hair 😖she insisted i needed at least 30 to get the effect i wanted (light enough to put purple over), fortunately i knew better, ignored her advice and stuck with 20vol... so called professionals out here telling people to burn their damn scalps off!!! edited for clarity!
Same!!! They tried to tell me my hair could take the 30 because it was so thick and most black people need at LEAST 30....the previous dye lifted with a 10vol bleach bath. The staff at Sally's are the absolute worst. I would've lost a year and a half of growth!!!
Sallys is notorious for giving bad advice. If they were successfull hair stylists why would they be working at sallys? You dont need to be a hairdresser to work there either.
So true! Never listen to the people at Sally’s. You don’t need a cosmetology license to work there. 90% of their staff don’t know what they’re talking about. Why do you think there are so many hair fails on TH-cam? So many fails start with the magic words “the lady at Sally’s told me to use this”. 🙄
I was, just once, tempted to do my own hair. I think the universe decided to protect me from my own adventurous side and I stumbled across this channel. I made an appointment and got it done professionally.
I had the problem you mentioned with the ash making my ends gray blue! Luckily, I was able to fix it with a white vinegar rinse followed by a clarifying shampoo.
When I heard you (forget which video🥺) exclaim that some have commented that you "talk too much". I rolled my eyes and screamed, "What?!" I find your commentary instructive and amusing. Bedankt voor je instructie.🤓
I’ve had a bad experience in a salon getting my hair bleached. I stopped going even for trims for 5 years. I found a stylist who has actually made my hair look fantastic even when doing a balayage now. When I first met her, she saw my hair after 5 years of no trims. It was to my butt. She said only 6 inches needed to come off. I told her take 8. People have said my my hair looks better than ever, even when I was seeing other stylists.
I have commented once before when I subscribed, but I just have to say it again. I am mesmerized by what I am seeing. I just can't look away. I am horrified for each of these people. I am not a hair dresser. Nor do I attempt radical things with my hair. I am to terrified that I would do what they have done.
I only get my hair done once a year since I do a cut and blonde/red highlights in my dark brown hair and it costs 200+. My boyfriend keeps insisting he can cut and color my hair for free. Hell to the no lol. It would cost more to fix his butchery 😂
Hey, hello to you too! That was so sweet- I thought you were plugging your own merch for a second (not trying to hate on people who do that though. You just see it everywhere now) but instead that turned out to be a lot more wholesome! Love your videos! Hope you and your family are doing well!
I've been cutting, bleaching and coloring my hair myself since forever and I'm telling you, you need a mirror in your back to do it and it works much better. I do this in a small room, I have a mirror cabinet with three movable mirror doors in front of me and a large mirror on the wall behind me. I also use additional light when I work on my hair. So I can see every part of my head perfectly. The only thing you have to learn is to work clean in a mirror image. But luckily our brains are very adaptable and the more you do it, the easier it becomes. Rear view mirror is really a must if you are doing something permanent to your hairstyle!
I can't really afford to go to a real salon 😔 but where I live there is a high school with a hairdressing track and the price there is like a third of what you pay at regular salons. It takes a bit longer but they do a good job 😀
How did she mess that up? I watched probably 4 shadow root videos on YT and did it myself. It's sooooo easy as long as you get each section and decide how low you want it to go
This can happen! He needs to take his logo and upload the .png file (no background) to Red Bubble. They offer TONS of merch options for designers to sell and water bottles are one of them. It’s a White metal bottle though. One of the few items they don’t offer a specific color as a designer. anyways, I do designs and use teepublic and now Red Bubble (as of yesterday 😀) and they have so many options. It’s easy for him to do but time consuming. Hope this helps him though.
I dicided to transition to more natural look for the Fall so did more low lights. And used dark blond for transition. And the ends too for less time. The result is way better than what I expected. Unfortunately my visits to professionals always and up really bad and I don't know is it my hair that's different or they are not really good professionals. Hair Buddha videos are entertaining and helpful with advices how that exact problem could be fixed. It's great.
I love your new bottle TFS I enjoyed this 😊😊😊 purple shampoo is not a toner your so funny. My god her hair a Horror movie that's funny 😂 a few mistakes um yes. At least went the hairdresser to fix her mistake now it looks good
Me desperately tries to never have my natural blonde show other people run their hair to get my shade?? I guess it goes to show we are never happy with what we are given.
Hi, a few months ago you gave me a wonderful link to an article on how to do bleach baths. I cannot remember where I saved it, but it was the best, so informative. Can you please supply it again. Thanx for all you do, Blessings!
Bleach/Platinum Blond hardly ever looks good on anyone. Especially if your hair is naturally dark. I dont know how anyone thinks this is a good idea. And her skin tone does not compliment fair hair color. Just like not anyone looks good with black hair.
Omg, finally someone who sees it! I’ve been wondering why everyone and their brother seems to equate “blonde” with platinum/grey. It’s such an unflattering trend and a next to no one looks good in it. Basically, only toddlers with natural platinum hair look good in it, imho. Also, people don’t seem to know that “blonde” comes in many shades and call anything warm or golden, medium or dark, but still fair “brown.” It’s really strange.
Doing your hair yourself is definitely difficult especially trying to reach behind your head but it does help to be ambidextrous like I am and have several long mirrors behind you and on sides so you can see what you're doing but having an extra set of hands to help you is recommended because even I screw up
I'm thinking about shadow dying my roots a pale peach color against very light blond, but have not had the guts to do it yet. I figure if it goes wrong it's an easy enough color to correct. Wondering if anyone has tried it out? Hair Buddha my daughter and I love watching your videos together... so addicting, with lots of laughs.

Never ever will I use anything over 25.... And lastly, I stopped using purple shampoo so much and I find blue and purple masques to cancel out my brass ... The shampoo was breaking my hair some... The masque makes my hair soft instead of it being dry... Welp, better luck for her next time 😌😌 #Walmart and Amazon sell these cool 3 way mirrors that are great when dying your own hair... It gives you an extra pair of eyes.... ☺️☺️.
I think if she does some big bouncy curls it will look better. Unless the color is just fantastic, bone straight hair doesn’t look right. But beach waves with this color would look nice. But not a perm!
I have so much to learn .. 😌 What are shadow roots? I am starting to wonder if I even know what I want done with my hair or what will look right when I go for my first time ever to a professional to get my hair done in a few days... Lol
This was a mess … she’s too dark to go blonde . The dark roots weren’t blended down enough so it looked like a band . To me the after didn’t suit her colouring . To each his own … enjoy your reactions 💕🇨🇦
My hair is very healthy, I only go to a salon, and my hairdresser always comments how nice it is. But.. it’s very thick and if I sleep on it damp it never dries, it’s always done this and I don’t know why. If I leave it in a towel too long the same happens. If I rewash and blow dry or dry naturally in the air, it’s fine. I feel this happened with this lady too.

Wouldn’t it have been easier to get her friend back to bleach the bits she missed? I’ll stick to going to the hairdressers personally.
That was a big option
You’re a smart lady! If you want professional results, you go to a professional!
Was my 1st thought when she said she missed bits
I think the friend was a hairdresser in the first video.

I've found places like that are as good as people who work in pet shops should know things but have zero clue and recommend things that isn't great
Whenever someone says "trust the process," it almost never goes well.
Right? 😂
At this point "trust the process" just seems to mean "things are not going well"
