      What would make it even MORE bad ass would be stroking it out to 4-5/8". If you can afford it I'd do it. You'd REALLY see that thing come alive

    I could watch 8 hours / day - everyday of Matt talking about engines and motorcycle history. Super interesting and informative. I can not wait and see how the Bikes n’ Beards project progresses. Hope to see more of these kind of videos from both channels. Incredible!

    As enthralled as I always was listening to Dale being excited about whatever he was doing a vid about and working on, I believe I am more so seeing Matt’s enthusiasm. “Wheels Through Time” ain’t going away to soon.

    It’s amazing to me the knowledge you have on these engines , and the fact that you’re so willing to share your knowledge with anybody that asks, my brothers and myself came by back in June and toured the museum and we were so proud when you took the time to speak with us and gave us the privilege of taking our picture with you.     Brilliant. Got me for every episode. Just like that stuff with the bearings,, that much detail is what I want. 2 / 10,000th, stuff like that, show me it all, all the mundane details. A lifetime of learning you have and it shows. Teach us.

    It was really cool to see you go over the bike with Sean and Craig when they came in. I can't wait to see that thing fire up for the first time when you're done with the engine. Nice of you to take a moment to show us how the bike should sound. It's pretty amazing that the 39 Harley started on the first kick...after ten years of sitting.

    A history lesson mixed with the soft touch of an expert rebuild. Dale didn't really need a mic to know how big those bearings were. So fun to watch.

    As always another great video that's informative and just fun I might not understand all this but he makes it so much easier to start understanding a lot of the stuff for these bikes. We all know is Dad Dale's looking down on them is a very very proud man.

    Wow, Matt, It looks to me like the only real damage to that beautiful, rare machine is the cracks in the cylinders and the broken valve springs. But as long as you're doing a full rebuild on her, it's best to replace the bearings that could be just beginning to become a little bit iffy. The Bikes and Beards guys have them selves a real treasure there. Thanks for an extremely informative video, God Bless and stay safe.

    i watched the bikes and beards guys pick this up and was upset the way they had no idea what they had or how to ride it, now i realise we all had to learn, hope they treat it with the same love you are putting into building the engine

    An old friend of mine rode Harley's for years and he always said his bike didn't leak oil it was only marking it's territory

    This is the most interest I have had in a video in a long time. My Dad put a 45 cu. inch harley together in 1964-65. It was an old bike at that time but do not remember what year it was. I loved the smell of that assembly .. gas and oil and grease.. Love it.. This is the best video...

    I bought a 1942 WLA civilian version in 1974 and road it for many years back and forth to my work in Amsterdam.
    I was tricked-out of it by a (former) friend, and still hate the day i was that stupid.

    Matt, I miss your dad, however since the beginning of the wheels through time museum I've been watching them on TV I always wondered what happened to him then I found out he passed away but at least he left it in good hands.

    Such a fun video to watch. Love that comment about the pan full of oil under the other bike; "if it's not letting oil out, there is no oil in." Perfect for the times. "Back in the day" everything with oil in it leaked, sooner or later.
    Great to watch so much expertise here on these Harley motors. Good luck on the rebuild guys.
