(Deltarune Fan Animation) Noelle and Berdly Discover the Dark World

- It's finally done!! This is just a little 'what-if' on how the two fell in, and is roughly based on the concept of Kris or the Knight opening the fountain the prior night. Who knows what truly happened, though?
This was primarily slapped together in Adobe Premiere, and I edited/animated the sprites in Photoshop. Some modding was done to get the empty library background and voice audio. The falling screen was drawn by me!

This was my first attempt at a cutscene and it was super fun to make! I am looking forward to working with this stuff further.

The Berdly sprite when he's falling down looks almost completely like Temmie's style. I love it

Which one is that?
The ones where he is holding onto the edge (except the last two which are edited) are repurposed from the neutral ending!
Edit: Sorry, misremembered - only the first one is. The rest except for the edited ones are in the pacifist one iirc. I've seen so many sprites at this point since rewatching the endings, they all get mixed up LOL

Berdly is written so perfectly in this. Love that last "Uh oh" too.
And the best part is, the text sound thing genuinely sounds like somebody saying 'Uh oh.'

My guess is it's only not in the game because there's no logical place to put it. The circumstances seen in the game basically already tell us how they got there & there's never a time when any of the characters have a reason to question it or describe it in detail. Plus Chapter 2's already massive. Could be cool to see as a post online from Toby though.
Why do I want an entire fangame about Berdly and Noelle's side of the story now
Because it’s fun to imagine the parts of their adventure we didn’t see the first time. Like with the Specter and King campaigns of _Shovel Knight._
I always wondered how Noele and Berdly ended up there and now im happy someone answered that with a fanmade thing. This is great and VERY well made.
That was really good, very official-like, love it.
Even though this is fanmade it looks a thing toby would do so this is one of the best fan made things i have seen
I like how burghley says that bluebirds can see well in the dark, even though noelle points out its not true, showing how burghley is not actually smart but pretending. Its a nice detail!
Ok but what if?: Berdly is part owl (he can turn his head 180 degrees), which is where he actually gets it from.
Dint berdly study so much Because he won a spelling bee against Noelle? And felt the smart superpower coming out?
@@GreatLeYoa He would've been second place, but the last word was December. Which is Noelle's missing sister's name. So she couldn't say it and Berdly won.

Absolutely amazing fan cutscene. This really fits Chapter 2's narrative pretty well.
Something I just realized during the video which for some reason doesn't have to do with it much,
...Is that Berdly uses "Alas" often, alas in spanish means wings, so it would make sense since he's a bird

That seems like something Toby would’ve done two or three times by accident, then kept doing after the realization sank in.

And that day Berdly learned he,in fact,does not fly.
This makes more sense than those stupid theories about how the knight was hiding in the closet and created the fountain while Noelle and Berdly were studying not noticing it being made or the knight getting out, and then the knight doesn't get noticed while there's a traffic jam right outside, and Kris and Susie are right around the corner as well
all i could here when berdly was gonna fall was just wheatly from portal saying: "grab me grab me grab me grab- AA"

Not gonna lie, I wish this was real. Kris and Susie's falling sprites from Chapter 1 were fun.
If Deltarune gets a bunker chapter, I'd love it if there's a part where a door to darkness opens as usual so Kris & Susie eagerly sprint & jump in like usual. Only to fall 100 floors down an elevator shaft.
The fact that Berdly tried to flutter out of there but ultimately failed at the very thing his body was made for just works too well.
