Maybe add a graphic in the vids post-filming to indicate streets/key spots. Some text just to spell out what you say like "the street of feet" that you highlighted and the restaurants you named....great vid though, cheers, mate.... 👍

Love Rome, and thanks for showing around the Trastevere district!
That shopkeeper at 6:31 was so cute. 🥰
And lol that couple walking behind you at 7:20, seems like they were following you for a while trying to get some screentime! Haha

Thanks for the video. We just got back from 🇮🇹 and stayed in Trestevere. We ate twice at Tonnarello and felt the food was very good. 👍🏻

I think the ancient tree you remarked on actually may be a wisteria vine. Spectacular when in bloom.

My favorite part of the video was the contrast between the noisy street and the silent church. Side by side, yet like you instantly entered another world. Beautiful.

Thank you so much… you are wonderful and so delightful to virtually walk around with. My daughter and I will be in Rome and staying in Trastevere the first week of December 2024. You have highlighted our area so well:)

Thanks so much for this! We’ve been going to Rome for many years and embarrassingly have never explored Trastevere! We’ll definitely fix that next time…always enjoy your wanderings and observations! Grazie!

The last time we visited Italy we stayed in a lovely Airbnb in Trastevere off Via dei Riari (not a lot of tourists in this section). It truly is an enchanted neighborhood in a truly special city. As a New Yorker I especially loved the trendy vibe and I actually find the visual contrast of all the newish graffiti against ancient architecture really interesting. Can’t wait to go back!

Great!!! I missed it on my visit to Rome years ago and now have a friend going there and mentioned this town that was on my radar for some reason. Rome is one of my favorite European cities and I am always drawn to the "grittier" parts of any city. Greetings from San Francisco and you're a terrific and highly watchable!🥰

0:00 The restaurant Cencio La Parolaccia (cencio bad word) is a typical traditional restaurant where people is heavily insulted ( just for joking) by the waiters but the food is really good. It is a known joke.

I’m going to Rome soon and our hotel will be near the Spanish steps so when we want to go out to trastevere for dinner that’s such a long walk there and back. What options are there to get to that side of town because the metro doesn’t go that way?

    • @ItalyGuy
      @ItalyGuy  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

Hey, there are some buses. Use google maps to check for the best bus route. But yes, public transportation to that side is a bit lame.
You can also take the metro station from Spanish steps to 'Pyramid' station and walk 15 minutes from there. It's a very cute walk. And the actual pyramid is amazing..

Great video. I don't think the Etruscans are exactly extinct as a people. They were just absorbed, and in many ways the Roman became Etruscans.

    Dude
The Graffiti is only a problem for american tourists
Rome has always been full of graffiti since the seventies
Back then it was political and calcio
Rome in the eighties was full of graffiti
    Calcio and political
And in the nineties N.Y. style graffiti came on top of that
    But rome is dirty
    Scruffy and weathered
And its been like that forever
There was graffiti in roman times I am sure
It s part of the charm
And no one gives a shit
    Just look around
Rome is dirty in every corner
    Get over it
Also tonnarelo is 80% international tourists and maybe 20% italian tourist
    Food is ok
    But romans dont go there
    Lines are too long
And you get the same or better quality in almost every Restaurant in the other neighboorhoods
    Trastevere has become a circus
Check out the the many neigbourhoods of the center
    Plenty to discover
    Otherwise
    Love your videos
I am not coming from a negative angle

Christian depitions will always show Jesus and Mary with crowns, in italian they call Maria "Madonna", "Regina"...
