    Hey all people think that Vietnamese or India are starving and have nothing to eat, please don't made fun of your self, it's because of the healthy diet, amazing food culture, maybe not rich but when we talk about food, belive me, the US is thousand years behind

    Saudi Arabia is no surprise when you consider just how many Western fast-food chains are there and how popular they are with the locals...of course, ties with the USA is the culprit. There was a BOOM in Western chains there and in Kuwait after the Gulf War
    It's like what happened to Hawaii. Canned foods (which were meant to be for military personnel) became extremely popular with the locals because Japanese-Hawaiians were banned from fishing during WWII and these canned products increased their weight. Similar situation in Guam and all those Pacific countries you mentioned like Marshall Islands and Nauru (pronounced Now-roo)

    I’m from the UK. My current BMI is about 21. My peak was 28.5, and the lowest was 19.9… I lost a lot of weight, too much, to be honest.

    You saying a country with low obesity is healthy is very stupid and naïve. By that logic Africa is the healthiest continent on the planet. Just because a country has low obesity rates doesn’t mean it’s healthy. Many of those people don’t have access to food of any kind. With the exception of Japan many of these countries have high poverty rates and a large percentage of their population malnourished and underweight.

    Not Obese is not the same as healthy or fit.
    It makes me a bit mad if you call super poor country's where the population starves fit and healthy just because they can't afford food.
    Please don't do that. Comes across as super naive that you haven't considered that as one of the Reasons.

    • @airakatsuru4127
      @airakatsuru4127 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thought the same thing while watching this video... China, India etc. don't have low obesity rates because everyone is healthy and fit, a large part of their populations can't afford to take care of their basic needs, let alone have enough food to become overweight. Seems like a very entitled thing to think.

      Don’t compare countries with dollars exchange rate . If you really want to check any country then check in PPP terms because in India person earning 2000$ in a month is called rich and they can afford much more things what an American can afford in 20000$.

    Just because a country isn’t obese doesn’t necessarily mean healthy or fit btw. Alot of the low obesity countries (India, China, Vietnam) is because a large portion of the population doesn’t have access to a lot of food.

    I’m half Tongan. 6’2” 240 LBS and run a sub 6:30 minute mile. Genetically, I put on weight and muscle very easily, I have very dense bones, and fast twitch muscle fibers so cardio is a bitch. According to my BMI I am obese. Look at my profile picture and make that conclusion yourself. All of the top 10 islands are pacific islands, and if you look into the history of these islands and how they came to be, it would make sense how they are at the top.

    I enjoyed your presentation. So thank you for your entertainment value. But what is it with you Americans and pronunciation of the names of any country that isn't in the US orbit so to speak. First Kiribati is pronounced Kiribas - Niue - Neway , Nauru, Nowru - you could do some geography and learn a little about the world apart from which is the fattest country. Oh yes, greetings from New Zealand. It sure is green here but almost everyone drives everywhere. Maybe that's a factor in the obesity rates here?

  • @realhuman5688

    Sure but china has FAR more people than Australia. 6.2% of china being obese means about 89.9 million people are obese. Nearlyy 3.5 times australia’s population. Also India being at 3.9% means 54.6 million obese people.
    While 30% of aussies being obese means only 7.8 million people are obese. Huge difference there

      People can be obese and malnourished at the same time. In 2019, only 6.9% of Vietnam’s population are undernourished, a little lower than 7.2% of Mexico’s population (according to Statista). And Mexico has high obesity rate.
      People can be obese and malnourished if they only eat food with low nutritional value like fast food. This also happens in the US. Plenty of children are malnourished because their parents don’t care about what they eat.
