    My issue has been severe depression. A month ago I started doing my hair, nails, feet and make up again. It's amazing how it lifts me up. I even clean my house now, I cook, I take the dog for walks. Just get out. I'm 60. It's cheaper than therapy.

Literally watching this 3 years after you posted and I can’t tell you how this has helped me and changed the whole experience from applying concealer to throughout the hours after wearing it!!! I have very drying under eyes which I take care of with creams etc but till now no other setting style has ever worked for me without giving me more creases!! So if you’re like me, very dry under eye, lots of creasing then seriously THIS WORKS!!!! Thank you so much for sharing! 🥳

      I understand your position! I "lost" my mid-40s thru my mid-50s, due to chronic pain, multiple surgeries, etc.. Although I'm no where near 100%, I have learned to live in my own "new normal". When I started wearing makeup (sometimes) again, my skin was 10 years older, and was a whole new experience in dealing with wrinkles, dry skin, facial hair, drooping eyelids, jowls, and all those other wonderful things that happen to our skin as we age (not counting those ladies who are rolling in extra $$$, and can afford all sorts of "extras" to combat the aging process!).
      It has been a challenge for me, and certainly some days are far better than others, but I have learned to accept and work around my personal "new normal", and I hope that you are able to do the same!

    I absolutely L❤VE, L❤VE, L❤VE this tip!!! It works!! I ran out to buy setting powder, which I didnt own because ANY powder on my face and the fine lines would multiply...not anymore! I used Farmasi's CC cream, Elf's setting spray and setting powder!! AMAZED me!! This is the best tip I have ever gotten. Im actually going to try this with foundation. I lived in Florida for Decades and foundation was a waste of time and money because it would melt away and make me look so much older. I have retired to a small cabin in the Kentucky mountains and I am learning to use makeup once again. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR TAKING YOUR TIME AND SHARING THIS!! Ok, I tried this and I am thrilled with the results! Concealing my under eye circles and bags has been the bane of my existence since I turned 40 three years ago. I recently gave up on makeup because I couldn’t figure out how to put on makeup without appearing older (which if you knew me, you’d know is so unlike me!). The results are flawless, I’m still in shock! I tried it with Pat McGrath concealer on one eye and NARS creamy concealer on the other. I used Morphe setting spray and Laura Mercier secret brightening powder and BOTH eyes came out so well! The best part is this is easier than any of the countless other techniques I’ve tried. The powder almost can’t be overdone because of the finish of the setting spray. My wrinkles are completely under control and I didn’t even hydrate before as a precaution. Even though the concealers have different consistencies, they both came out looking equally on point. THANK YOU LADIES, this may be the best in my bag of tricks yet! ❤️❤️❤️ Robyn

    Love this old-school trick. I have been doing this trick for 2 years now, I first heard about this trick from Mr. Wayne Goss's channel. This trick is also great for glasses wearer because it can prevent glasses from rubbing off makeup. If you do not want to use your finger, you can spray a beauty blender with setting spray to set the concealer before applying powder. If you have dry under-eye, you can plump the skin with a lot of eye cream, it also helps to prevent creasing.

    I’d like to let you know my experience with this “trick”, it absolutely works! I’ve tried every concealer brand/trick and it never ends well. But I’m here to say THIS absolutely works. Why didn’t I think of this. During the warmer and humid months, I use the same steps prior to using my foundation. Since I’m a firm believer in keeping a minimum amount of product to the under eye area, this makes perfect sense, stayed all day, no dry out caking and didn’t accentuate my fine lines.

    You are my new favorite go to when it comes to makeup tutorials! I just tried this along with your latest flawless foundation tutorial (the one where you dust on your setting powder before your foundation) and I can't believe the difference it's made in the way my makeup looks! I am in my early 40's and when I was younger I loved to wear makeup, and knew every trick to wearing it and how to accentuate your best features. Over the last couple of years though, I moved out to a house on the lake and all but stopped wearing makeup because I didn't really have any reason to. During that time, my skin has changed a lot, and I hadn't kept up with the new products so I have been pretty discouraged and overwhelmed whenever it came to buying new makeup and applying it. Everything I tried looked terrible on me and aged me a great deal. Many of the tutorials that I watched were for women younger than myself and while I thought the looks and techniques were beautiful, I felt ridiculous trying to pull them off on myself. I had just reached the point where I was ready to just throw in the towel when I came across one of your videos for how to do your eyeshadow and it immediately had me looking up your other tutorials. Is there any advice you can give on tricks and products to use for when your eyelids look crepey (is that a word? Lol!) after putting on eyeshadow?

  • @almaramirezify

    It works. That’s what I do. And if you use a cold jade roller on your face before applying your makeup it helps even more. Oh, and when washing your face use cold water to rinse (the colder the better) all this helps minimize pores and reduce the appearance of fine lines.

I really have to WATCH OUT, depending on which powder I try to use with which concealer!!! Either too powdery looking, cakey or makes me look like that part of my face is 30 years older! My 40s haven't been good to me. So much has happened to cause me great stress and anxiety which in turn has really impacted my health. But I'm fighting back and trying to regain my health and love for life. I actually finally broke down last month and started my own channel. It's not much yet but I thought maybe my journey to improve myself might help someone else too. I've wanted to do it for years but I'm one of those that always tell myself I will do it when I already feel like I've got things perfected. But perfect doesn't exist and I'm really hoping it can inspire someone else to take back their life with me.

Maybe that will also help you?

    • @aspenmontgomery409
      @aspenmontgomery409 4 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      I took a trick from Robert Welsh & Goss collectively & have finally stopped looking for that 'magic concealer' bc I can now use all of the ones I previously purchased 💞
      I apply just a bit of a highlighting concealer to inner corners of eye (working slightly down with tapping or blender) & to the outer corner working up toward temple... nothing directly under (something to do with light reflection 👈 Robert Welsh has entire video about it). This alone was all I needed but additionally (taken from Wayne Goss), after applying foundation (for me in this heat generally just a tinted moisturizer or BB) & concealer, I take a Kleenex, pull into individual ply, wrap it over damp beauty blender & tap around eye area (I do my entire face) & it may not seem like much of anything but there is some witchy sorcerer magic thing happening bc it makes a huge difference.
      The fact that I abandon most 'tricks' after a few days but do this every single day says it all!
      After that, I usually just dab a lil cream blush, might do eyes depending on plans & rarely wear powder anymore!

    • @KG9551
      @KG9551 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Risa, thank you for sharing this tip!!! It's an amazing result! I have tried a ton of concealers!! Tried many tips, or methods from other beauty gurus. I can never get the same results, every concealer gets in my fine lines under my eyes no mater how much I blend with a brush, finger tips, or sponge! The concealer blends in smoothly, doesn't cake in my fine lines & wrinkles. I was so surprised after the setting spray dried, thought it was going to remove the concealer & be tacky, not the case at all. I'm going to use this method every time I wear make up. Hey ladies with mature skin like me it does work! :))

    OMG! It worked! I have used all kind of concealers before, expensive/inexpensive and no matter what, when I bake my concealer under my eye, it would start cracking immediately! Then I followed Kendra's method- I used my best concealer, "Born This Way" Multi Use Sculpting Concealer, then Setting Spray, and "Airspun" Loose Powder and voila...perfectly smooth under eye finish! Thanks so much! Tip: I sprayed too much setting spray on my hand and it left finger prints under my eye. Just spray once, (thin layer) then dab on your under eye before the setting spray dries.

      I'm in my late 50's and tried them all... the best is smashbox. It keeps my makeup on for 10 hours.

    Thank you, Risa! This tip seems to have potential and I can't wait to try it the next time I wear makeup.

    I haven't worn conceler since my 20s (now 51) because I was tired of it making me look older and cracking. I also stopped putting powder directly under the eye. Then I stopped using powder altogether. I just apply some lotion, a little YBF anti redness cream on red spots and dark discolorations and my buff beige CoverGirl AquaSmooth all over face and that works. I know there will come a day (probably now lol) when I'll need more coverage and I'll try this nifty trick! Thanks. Looks great by the way!

    THIS WORKS!! I used ELF mist and set, No 7 lift and illuminate triple action finishing powder and elf putty primer under as 1st step and this is magical. Like the stuff dreams are made of!🙏🏼😪♥️

    Thanks for the tip! I like to spray my foundation brush or sponge with Mac’s Fix Plus to blend in my foundation. (I dot the foundation on my face) I find it smooths out the foundation nicely. My fav talc-free setting powder is Lawless Translucent Setting Powder!! It’s the best, and doesn’t bother my allergies. I have dehydrated, aging, sensitive skin. I always love your recommendations ❤️

      I used to live for that concealer but it is incredibly heavy coverage which, for me contributed to the issue. I went and bought an adored cult fave, Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer and never looked back 😊

      @@aspenmontgomery409 why is it an issue? Not trying to be rude, but I need heavy coverage

    I have been totally skipping any makeup lately since I've been self-isolating for a couple months, with no true end in sight, and no one sees me other than my Sweet Toy Poodle, Roxy, and she just assume I not wear makeup, because she loves to give me kisses, and she isn't allowed when I have my "face" on! I have been fighting with my under eye concealer for years, and often have skipped my concealer completely unless I was only going to be out for an hour or so! I am quite excited to try this new trick! Also, thank you for sharing her TH-cam site. It helps so much watching and learning from other "mature" women the best ways to actually still look BETTER when wearing makeup!!!
