The song sparked a lot of controversy due to the original lyric containing direct references to the October 7, 2023 attack of Hamas on Israel and the following Israel-Hamas war.
The song is originally called "October Rain" and hence the words of Netanyahu of "Never Again" throughout the song.

I just wonder. As a European I have experienced heavy October Rain, but never a hurricane. Does that happen in Israel, just curious? Hurricane happen on the coast of the Atlantic, but I have hardly heard of it inland, except for mountain areas. Storms, yes.. Do hurricanes happen in Israel or is it just symbolic?

Thank you! I'm not even Israeli or Jewish but I have so much respect for Eurovision fans who focus on the aspect of music and leave out the politics. The dancers in white, they are the angels who were murdered at the party in Nova. First they wear white as on that holiday and then the clothing becomes black. The hole she has in her white shirt it is actually a bullet hole. The second shirt is wrapped around the neck like the 🎗️ yellow symbol for returning the Hostages. The upside tree symbols what happened on October 7th. She sings I am still broken from this hurricane, meanning for that day October 7th. I was thinking that the upside-down tree meant or represented the 2 nations living amongst each other with different roots and histories and both feeling uprooted and not taken care of properly. A tree wanting to grow but In soil thats not accepting. @@elisemink4571 in no way should Russia be allowed to participate in ESC. Russia invaded a sovereign nation, one of whom was an ESC participant no less. Israel was attacked by terrorists and kidnapped civilians, which as of today, Hamas saus are no longer alive. There’s a big difference.

By the way Oz means "courage" or "prowess" and it's also a name in Israel given for men. After the 7th of October, more babies than usual were given the name "Oz" in memory of the Kibbutzs "Nahal Oz" and "Nir Oz" where many people were murdered and kidnapped by Hamas.

Oz means strength or valor in Hebrew. Thank you for uploading your reaction, you have always been amongst my favorite reactors and I`m so happy that you liked this one as it`s very different from what we usually send. I can only speak for myself but I love both the song and the video as they capture the essence of our feelings in the past half year perfectly. The song almost always brings me to tears but in a very positive way that releases much of the pent up sadness that I`ve been holding since that horrible beginning on Oct 7th. I`m proud of what Eden and the team who wrote this song have managed to do and wish her well in the ESC in May.
Again, I and I`m sure, most of the other Israelis watching have nothing but love and respect for you and I thank you for your kind and positive reaction.

You have just received a new subscriber sir! I just about cried when I saw the jury vote and then saw vision of the reaction within the arena for Eden. As you stated Eurovision was created for the music, to bring Europe and the world together through music. Those people who booed and jeered Eden in the arena are not real Eurovision fans. I follow ESC Tom, from Ireland and in his video of the live performance he just stayed silent, which is the way a true Eurovision fan who did not want Israel there should have done. The song is a great song, Eden's staging was beautiful and her performance was flawless and for the juries to not vote for the performance but use their own beliefs of what was happening elsewhere as a reason to not vote for her should make them ashamed, and should make the EBU ban them from ever being jury voters ever again. Again I wanted to say I respect your reaction to a hauntingly beautiful song performed by an outstanding artist!

Oz im from israel and i appreciate how you handled your conflict and left politics out of eurovision. music purpose is to connect music and politics do the opposite. every person who dies is a waste of life. the world show return to sanity.
