@@JohnM... だった is the past form for だ or basically the equivalent of でした. よ is kinda like an extra emphasis of what you just said and ね is kinda like saying "you know" at the end of what you just said like "I buy food at the convenience store, you know". ah, yes the triple akane recommendation
you should review 夜のクラゲは泳げない [ Jellyfish Can't Swim in the Night ]
it's extremely good! it's slightly idol themed but that's not the main focus, it's just generally really good story, characters and animation and it's again from the same studio that made Oshi no Ko
I highly recommend it if you're looking for something fresh!

This is a very beautiful selection of 2023 anime ! ☺👏🏻 I discover a range of interesting anime that treat mainly about the societal topics of the everyday life relationships, which is hence a great opportunity to learn lots of useful vocabularies and expressions for everyday life.
Thanks to your thorough analysis, I've got a rich summary of the grammar that I already know, which has allowed me to rather understand each grammatical point. Also, I've been amazed to discover the classification of the keigo language style for the first time of my life.
I always love this kind of content as you mix wonderfully well pleasure and education by offering us the possibility to learn Japanese through anime, which is personally a very efficient learning method. 😃

One of the reasons I like BokuYabai so much is the way how the characters interact in Japanese, in most cases very naturally, with pauses inbetween to further emphasize the "read the room" aspect which is very important in everyday social interactions among japanese people.

I learned to speak by learning to write. I was told it would be hard to learn but it really isn't. It's just a lot to memorize compared to English. Anyways the books I have just teach the writing and the pronunciations of the alphabet in question. Like the hiragana book teaching you how to pronounce each one as well as the katakana. Then there is the kanji. The real difficulty to me is writing, dear god my terrible penmanship carries over to Japanese something fierce.
