There's nothing like starting an inaugural draft for your new SMB4 league, and in this video, I'll explain my strategy to maximize chemistry, budget, and talent.
Norm is a cheat code. Though it's not listed, all two-way pitchers have high Arm ratings since they're, you know... pitchers. He's a natural at 3B, and basically gets you an extra roster spot. The tough part is that even if you intend to start him in the infield, the algorithm only sees him as a reliever and keeps throwing infielders at you. ETA: You had Kitty Kauffman at 8, and skipped her for Milo Stewart? Oof. Norm is literally the only player I'd ever take ahead of her, regardless of chemistry. And from a Platypi player no less! Shame.
As someone who loves this game and knows all about this game, I enjoyed your explanation of the game and the way the chemistry and traits work! Couple of things I noticed: I always pronounced Norm's last name like "phenomenal", but "phenomeno". I don't know, just thought I'd mention it. CPs will get a mojo drop if they come in earlier than the 8th inning. Really liked the content! I just found you and I'll be checking out more of your stuff!
I was getting the baseball itch again, and The Show this year looks terrible as far as aesthetics in the menus go. I know those white backgrounds and neon colors everywhere is just going to fry my eyes. Played my firsts SMB4 game last night with a drafted team, custom league. I scored 45 points, to 5 - took me about 4 innings to figure the game out. So, I need to obviously adjust difficulty settings - any advice on where to start? In The Show I played a little better than Allstar a little worse than the Max difficulty.
Good advice. For me, i hovered around 67-69 for a while. Once i got more patient at the plate and comfortable throwing more pitches out of the zone, i was able to move up. @@MikeLowe47

Try hitting around 60-70 to start.
