This was a fun one. We brought out the Pentax 67 & Hasselblad X-Pan even though it didn't make the cut for this one. haha Shooting in a sounds stage is always fun but we had to get crazy with it. Beautiful lighting, Portra 800 & talented actors helped me bring the vision to life. I hope you all enjoy this one!

HEY GUYS! THE WINNER WILL BE ANNOUNCED IN MY NEXT VIDEO. WHOEVER CONTACTS YOU BEFORE THEN IS TRYING TO SCAM!
Thanks for clearing that up.
Wow....almost got scammed on that one....someone on Telegram who wants you to pay postage over PayPal.
nice work bro. What sound stage did you use? most sound stages don't have prebuilt sets. Do you have a website?
Thanks for the heads up.. I almost clicked on a telegram request..
@@2007rSix you have to be careful. Scammers are so sly nowadays
Your work is amazing, there’s no one out there representing our culture and black history in film and cinematography. Thank you
I truly appreciate you.
Which lenses are you using with the fx3 for video? @@MikeGrayFilm
This was truly a great great video! The winning shot is definitely the one with the lady looking out the back window. So much emotion in that shot and the vibe was incredible. The sets were like wow! That street corner with the Panthers was so cool and authentic. Bravo. This actually had me wishing this was a movie because that beginning with the Rodney King video playing in the background was perfect. Your acting skills was on point too! 😂👊🏾
Haha I appreciate you
Blackness! Beautiful! So Creative!
I personally don't see anyone Black in this particular field who isn't "famous" in Hollywood making THIS type of content with fusing activism with art much besides someone like me.
Keep it up my G! Ur making waves!
I appreciate you bro!
The photo of the Lady looking though the back window of the car is an absolute winner of a photograph.
🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
Stunning model, that rear screen shot was the winner for me. Keep up the great work, appreciate your hard work
Thanks Jason
I was born in 71 and I am not sure I can recreate that scene the way you did. Very well done!!!!
Thanks a lot Warren!
Mike impressed by your creative vision on this video. My favorite was the girl starring out the back window of the car.
The backseat window shot is my favourite. It looks like street photography, with perfect light conditions.
🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
That shot of the woman staring out the rear window straight 🔥🔥🔥
Such an incredible video and set of images... the scene, colors, lighting and emotion in all of them captured such a unique vibe. It really inspires me to take more time to create work with more intention and thought put into it. Hats off to you Mike, the man never misses. Thanks for the work you do.
Dude your creative vision you have to create this kind of shoots is admirable. Big fan of your work! Plus the quality of the content you have been uploading ties it all together. I recommend your channel to every friend that is getting into photography to inspire them!
WOW!!!! Loved this. Absolutely amazing. One thing I noticed, your married couple were from GA, the front tag on the car was Cali. Thanks for taking us behind the scene on this.
Dude, I'm amazed that someone as young as you is turning out content like this. I started on film in 1979 and you have rekindled that fire! Thank you!!
Love the use of colour for the first shoot and the black and white for the second. Really taking your photoshoots to another level by integrating a level of storytelling that many others wouldn't consider - but using your voice to keep it personal, which makes it all the better.
This whole concept was dope! Cant wait to see the rest of it.
Hey Mike, saw the first Video around one year ago and loved it, it was the Pentax vs. Hasselblad in the desert. Since then i‘ve started watching your vids. Every time you dropped a new banger i had to show it my friends and tell them about your work. And another thing, it’s crazy how you creat videos which i don’t just watch cause of the technical or art aspect no, also because of you as a person and your character. There aren‘t many creators wich achieve this kind of sympathy level! Keep up the good work Bro!
Dude, wonderful concept, production, and presentation. I am loving your concept work and I enjoying seeing you high new highs every time you produce your concepts. Definitely rocked with the entire concept, you took me back with the Rodney King footage, because I remember that being all we talked about back in my college days. You brought history forward with your concept.
Congratulations to you and your crew! And, you keep shooting as well! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
This photo/video special Mike Gray Edition came out really good 🎉
I hit a lot of roadblocks when it comes to studio shoots and just doing the same colored backdrop over and over. You've definitely inspired me to try creating my own movie sets in my own visions for shoots. Seeing the detail on that set was super cool. Usually its me getting kicked out of a lot of spots. Love the work.
Mike, This entire concept does an amazing job of making me feel as if I were actually in this era. From the lighting, story telling, acting and of course the photos, this is such a powerful and authentic piece of work! I’m not sure if I’ve seen many in this lane other than yourself representing for the culture. Keep it coming brother!
Thank you family!
You killed it with the theme! Brought me back!
I love your way to take a shot , everyday progressing !
Now that’s a great photo shoot; loved the concept where the future meets past and past meets future-simultaneously👌
Nice video, can't wait for part two!
Man, you never disappoint, everything about this video was absolute fire from the short film to both the shoots! Hard to pick a favorite between them all
Thanks Julian!
So creative. I thoroughly enjoyed this time well spent.
Especially love the b&w portrait with the 3 guys. Something about that framing, badass wardrobe and the lens choice that make it so interesting
Love this concept!! Flash back shoots shot on film are such a killer idea! Always stoked when you drop a new video, and of course crossing my fingers for that dope ass lens!
Always great watching a new drop on this channel. Definitely serve as a study guide for my photography
Are you kidding meeeeeeeee. My brother 🤝 the work is needed for the cultureeeee. Amazingly done Mike Gray 🎉
Thank you. Gotta let em' know!
Always love your shot on Pentax 67!!!❤
What an inspiring shoot! A total a dream state!
Lighting is on point. The videos you put out are very inspiring, it’s always wanting me to elevate my work.
you´re killing it brou, this is one of my favourite videos of you by far
The black and white shot of the couple looking at each other wins it for me! Awesome as always Mike!
Mike, every video, you bring a new flavor. I enjoy your work. the young lady in the back of the car picture is amazing. Let''s go!!!!
Love the rear window shot! Love the 105 2.4 too

The lighting was fire !!! Loved the colors
Mike, This video is all i love about, the vibe, the colors, and even the acting is really good, can't wait what to come next!
Damn that is such a great video. I love the way you can tell a story, plus the photos turned out great.
That photo through the rear windshield is absolutely KILLER! I would love to someday shoot on a soundstage like that. Such a fantastic feel to the photos
the shot out the back window is my absolute favorite. you have one of the best channels I've come across in a long time, keep it up !
Thank you!!!
Never know what to expect on your videos...thanks for mixing it up. Also a Pentax 6x7 user so I always enjoy seeing how you use yours.
Bro's intelligence and natural direction has improved a ton from when I first started watching on the Wyoming shoot video. Good work brotha!
Truly a day 1. Damn - thank you!
Seriously great video! I hope you have fun with the X-Pan, and digging the car and lighting in this episode! Can’t wait to see what you do in the future!
That's a cool af shoot, incredible lighting too
always love the creative story/act you put in these videos, the Earl Lloyd one was my favorite
Love these period pieces bro! Amazing work as always Mike ✊🏾
Really dope concept. Always killing it with the cinematic vibes. Keep doing your thing man.
Keep up the good work. Love the vibe and colours from both shoots
The set, with the lighting, costumes everything was great. And the film colors, softness - so satisfying! I absolutely can relate to the feeling of thinking additional shots when you go through the images after a photoshoot. But the time is never enough.
facts man!
Please do more of these type of shoots!
loved the colour shots, that wet floor really helped to bring another dimension to the pics
Loved the photos, vibe & lighting! ❤🔥
This was next level! I love the concept of blending a photoshoot with a movie quality scene. 10/10!
Thanks Nick!
Just waiting on my Pentax 67. Hopefully it arrives this week! That and your 105mm will be a perfect couple! 😊
Always awesome work on your conceptual shoots! When you said all you need is a few friends who trust the vision, man. Damn, right. More power to you and the channel!
Stellar work! The last photo in the first shoot was one of the best photos I've seen in a while!
Wow the space is fabulous and that rear window shot slays!!! Would love to hear the sort of shots you thought of afterwards.
Working with the homies on projects is the best! Love both sets, keep it up!
I love story telling and that you always do that in the videos you put together. Photography is telling a story and giving insight and this turned out A1
Thank you so much
This was amazing Mike, thanks so much for all the work you do! Can't wait to see the next video!
Thanks so much for watching.
Always been a fan, your work is inspirational and always makes me to want to create. Loved the concept, composition, emotion but the lighting was really killer.
Very inspiring. Really loved the idea and the execution of the ideas into photos. Keep rocking and inspiring!
loved the black panther xpan shot in the car, it's nice to see that camera used for something other than landscapes!!!
What an awesome video Mike, you are such a great inspiration, I am loving your vision, concept, creativity, you are killing it 🔥🔥🔥
Always great work and great locations
That’s big time! The b&w are so dope!
You are a talented man Mr Gray! I wish you every success.
The pictures are beautiful. Love how the environment adds to the storytelling elements
Dope work Mike as always. Keep getting after it and letting us be apart of the journey. Can’t wait for the next drop!
Appreciate it!!
Liked the video immediately after seeing just the first few photos, the vision, and the effort that went into it even before knowing what the giveaway is about. I'm normally a fan of natural lighting but this shoot just inspired me to consider studio shoots! Thank you Mike and please continue doing what you love to do!
Thank you.
Love your content! The concept for this photo shoot is dope.
The cinematic look of the shoot was very cool. The tertiary colors gave the shoot a unique look. Great job with the time-traveling couple.
🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
The concept of this is incredible! Brilliant work!!!
Thank you!
That's some beautiful work right there. I especially love the one with the woman looking out of the back window of the car. The B/W stuff had some kind of Gordon Parks quality to it. I don't know if you're familiar with his work, it's absolutely Stunning. How beautiful that a combination of a simple Camera plus a creative vision and some talent can become into an actual time machine itself and this even without the need of speeding up to 88mph. Cheers from Germany.
I love the concept, particularly the colour images. I find, personally speaking, that colour works so much better in conveying mood with night shoots.
Totally agree!
Being able to see Mike’s Channel and Vision grow since the channel started has been great! Keep going Mike!
Thanks so much bro
I just discovered your channel a couple of weeks ago and apart from the great photos you shoot it‘s just always so much fun to watch your videos. Thank you!

love the video and i have always liked your transition! i was really blown away from the colors when you got to 1992 and the black and whites from the black panther set were dope...thoroughly enjoyed your video and photos!!
Great work Mike you're always doing something amazing.
Thank you
My favorite was the shot of the model in the back window. Claiming that lens now, thank you.
