You’re less likely to get weepers on your 1st pass if you use short rather than long strokes because you are removing the most amount of beard and want to reduce it more slowly. You lather slowly but shave too quickly. Slow down and enjoy a rare glimpse of the sun in Scotland. You shave a mile a minute. Take your time laddy boy.

Great vid! B&M Diamond is a good scent! That Yaqi top cap and base plate reminds me of the old Gillette Goodwill razor. Same diamond thing. 😁👍🏼

The razor head is a lot like the Gillette Goodwill ca. 1930. I suspect the resemblence isn'tcoincidental. This baseball season is in its infancy, having begun in April; with the playoffs, it'll go all the way to Halloween. Best wishes to all.

Baseball goes from April to October. A whopping 162 games plus playoffs culminating in the World Series. Love that soap/aftershave but I’d say it’s definitely polarizing among opinions. I think it captures the essence of baseball nicely.
Tha cap of the razor reminds of the vintage Gillette Goodwill razors.

Nicely done Kevy🪒🪒 Weird scent but there are others. I have a strange razor that was sold by BullGoose years ago where the handle has a stud that passes through the bottom plate and screws into a hole in the top cap holding the razor together, nice and smooth when assembled. Enjoy the shave!

Barrister and Mann have this uncanny knack for creating the most out-of-left-field scents that just...work. Putting the Art back in Artisan.
Also, don't apologize for taking your time lathering. I've never timed it myself, but I'd bet I spend at least a good 5-7 minutes lathering. Maybe even more. It's just relaxing and enjoyable and pleasurable, and like I've told at least one viewer, if it's taking too long that's why God invented fast forwarding. 😅
There's an idea: Timing or measuring how long is making a lather. Just guessing on myself not having yet measured, I sense mine take maybe 7 to 10 minutes.

Hi Kevy. This is an interesting version of an original short comb Gillette Goodwill, with the Art Deco styling. The Goodwill is a little aggressive for me, so I wonder how this one will feel. Back to watching the video! Cheers.

Hi Kevy. In case nobody else has commented on the razor, I have seen a video where Mat from Razor Emporium a long time ago showed a Gillette Goodfellow razor with that same rhombus design in the head and base plate. From the 1920's or 30's. So perhaps Yaqi was inspired by that razor.
It certainly looks like they were inspired by the Goodwill razor. Kevy 😀

Great shave. I don’t have an open comb yet, but I would love to have it in my den in the future. I went to see a baseball game just once when I went with my family to see a White Sox game. It’s the only baseball experience I’ve had so far in my life. Have a good one!

Nice your showing the ingredients list on the label. Too many of the Barrister & Mann soaps according to the website show a strange ingredient for a skin care or soap product. This one does not show that strange ingredient. When I visit B&M site, I cannot find this Diamond soap.
They've maybe discontinued it for now. Sometimes they do seasonal releases so it might be back at some point in the future. Kevy 🙂
How is the noise from the razor while making the raze strokes? I learned to associate this sound with the likelihood of the razor giving many skin cuts.

Just copied as usual the Gillette Goodwill # 164 Razor. I have some Goodwills including the # 164.
That razor is a cheap copy of the Gillette Goodwill.....(as usual: COPY). The original is a very good razor......
