Whenever WI loses, it is often asked/said "what next?" "Test cricketbis dead", etc. When New Zealanf lost three nil, no one ask or said that about them. When England got 4 nil in Australia, no one said Test Cricket is dying. England just got 4 to 1 against India. WI does not play half of the Test matches England play yet everyone expects them to be at their very best all the time. It was earlier this year they beat Australia in Australia.

Thanks Yas - this questioning of Woakes' spot is weird when not accompanied by the suggestion of a feasible alternative, let alone one that could better his home performances

Wait are you lots cutting out Jofra Archer in test? He can do just as good as Woakes only problem is injury

Was just about to comment this, certainly away from home a much better option with the ball, I assume this is the plan tbh but this podcast always seems to forget him… maybe I’ve missed something or they just don’t want to assume considering his injury record

Archer is nowhere near a No.8

@@davidhull2998 we know that but he’s an elite bowler, we don’t have an 8 that can bowl well in Australia, that’s the issue so the best option is your best bowler in those conditions and hope it works out.

Most T20 leagues globally lose money, as does the 100. Ultimately private investors need a return. Unless they can see a path to profitability private investment might prove difficult to obtain. This might be a stipud idea and reflect my age but might value in thinking about reviving the old Sunday League as a 20/20 competition? OK you could not get overseas players in same numbers, as it would be months long format but if marketed properly a 20/20 on Sky every Sunday afternoon in June/July/August (stop when premier league starts as you cannot complete with this) could get a decent audience.

The definition of madness is repeating yourself . This discussion has been going on for over 20 years . Pretty shameful that the cricket world hasn't rallied to help such a talented region. The great team of years ago was legendary

is Jordan Clark not England Qualified?? otherwise he should have a go at 9, this is the major problem now for Australia, Woakes cant go he avg 50+ overseas so and runs he scores with the bat are useless anyway.

If franchise calls most of these white ball players from the West Indies, they going to play white ball. When West Indies call these guys they turn it down for these weaker franchise no disrespect intended….
Shimron Hetmyer, Nicholas Pooran, are the two franchise money league players…. They won’t get to play first class… would any first class like the English county or Australian shell shield pull dem in and expose dem to proper red ball? Per haps even India?
King and Hope have turned down test against the best teams, but I bet if we call dem for Bangladesh Sri Lanka or weaker associations teams they just might take it who knows. But for me they should just walk back in until they play vs New Zealand South Africa India England Australia. If they continue turn down these calls just move on.
As for Mayers. Disappointed is a big understatement. Such a promising guy but what? Got a taste of franchise and then turn down a central contract so he can chase franchise money…..

Disagree that the Hundred has been all mediocre, have you been watching the women's matches, they have been on the whole excellent close affairs with the top world class players on show.
Perry won a game yesterday in a duel with NSB which was terrific entertainment.
The men's stuff I hardly even bother with now, and I'm not arguing its in a whole heap of trouble. Its laughable the women are on a fraction of their money. They have all the world's top players performing, I couldn't tell you who half the mens teams are.
Someone will purchase the two London franchises for sure, but who is going to pay tens of millions for 49% and no ultimate control of some of the other franchises.

The women hundred is good . but the mens should be scrapped. But im not a hundred fan and never will be
