As a boy I grew up in the honorable rabbi shalom rubashkins yeshiva, he paid for my tuition while my parents fought in a bloody divorce, shalom read the entire psalms cover to cover EVERY DAY (in Hebrew) when he started feeling the heat.... Worked hard, wished for moshiach, the entire community (700 non Jewish employees 300 jewish rabbis) was thriving off his back.
I think the word "Hashem" is the most frequently used word in Rabbi Rubashkin's vernacular! Just like Yosef Hatzadik. Such a beautiful and inspiring podcast, thank you!
I started to read his book a few weeks ago and I am completely hooked. It is the best book I have read. It has strengthened my Emuna in Hashem. Thank you R. Rubashkin for sharing your story.
I have listened to his speech from the Augda convention 8 times in 3 days. I just can't get over it!
His rock solid faith gives me so much faith and trust in G-d! He's a true role model of what a Jew should strive for, his strength blew me away!

I was there in the courtroom when his trial began. I could see right from the start, the judge, Linda Reed, was prejudiced against him, allowing witnesses to testify about the "man in the beany" had done whatever, and sustaining objections from the prosecution while denying those from the defense. Still, I was shocked to hear just how harsh his sentence was! G-d bless President Trump for pardoning him!
This was by far my favorite MPP episode-I didn’t want it to be over, I just wanted to hear more! Some points that were made in this episode really touched me:
-Not to ‘be frum after you pass the challenge’ but improve yourself IN the challenge
-Not to resign yourself to a Tzara and say “well maybe this is just what Hashem wants for me” b/c Hashem wants you to daven to get OUT of the Tzara
-“Living with Bitachon made you free EVERY single day”

I’ll admit I’m only 23 minutes in, but he wrote a huge book that tells you practically every detail of what happened. I think having a sit down with Rabbi Rubashkin should have been more geared towards deeper questions than having him just repeat what happened. As he answered, “read the book”

We are now two years after, and after 7/10 and all it entails, and i must say that now is the time his story is most needed with the hostages and all we are going through. I believe in emuna shlema that Ha-Shem is with us, directing everything for the benefit of the Jewish people and the world. Rebushkins' story strengthen me and it shloud give a big hizuck to all am Israel ❤🇮🇱 thank you 🙏

I just finished Reb Rubashkin’s book, the new updated version.
Two thoughts: 1. His faith under such circumstances is just amazing and inspiring.
2. The American judicial system is utterly evil! I’m horrified! The judge was totally evil, I can only say: Never despair of retribution. There is a special place in hell waiting for her, and the prosecutors. While Reb Rubashkin doesn’t name them, they are nevertheless well-known within their profession, and I hope they are vilified within their professional life in the here and now as well. But that’s not even the point. The system was evil at every level, at every appeal. I had no idea that the American judicial system was so stacked against a defendant. Evil, evil, evil!

I’ve listened to this Sholom Rubashkin podcast several times and each time I feel this is a good man, an honest man with an amazing faith in Hashem. What I can apply to my life is to trust in Hashem no matter what is going on in my life. President Trump did 2 important things for which I am grateful: Declaring Jerusalem the capital of Israel and commuting Sholom Rubashkin’s sentence.

32:00 It's not legal or morally acceptable to deny bail based on religion, national origin, etc. The US is made mostly of immigrants, who come from every nation in the world. Many of them CURRENTLY HAVE DUAL CITIZENSHIP. Most can return to wherever their families are from.

For further information, before judging, one might read the Jerusalem Post, June 3, 2018. If you feel someone has been treated as a hero after incarceration.
In a place call prison what’s the reason for that?
If I understand correctly, he referred to it like that to demonstrate to himself (and possibly to others) that while his body may be stuck in prison, his neshama (soul) was not.

i have respect for the choices people make: to choose religion is a choice. i think religious proselytizing almost always becomes pimping: listen to me, think as I think, I will tug at your heart strings, stroke your ego, fulfill your desire to be "higher." be committed to whatever you like; just never become pimps. pimping IS religion, as far as I can tell (all religions. i just thought judaism wasn't that manipulative. i found it the kiruv world demands manipulative mindsets....bummer. big bummer. )

False accusations which were disproved in court in spite of the prosecution's strong efforts

In the Torah meat was allowed to eat after the flood. Hashem was not pleased w the jewish people.

Love the show and the work of Nachi and Yaakov but I think this episode was out of bounds.
There was likely a miscarriage of justice against Rubashkin, but to paint him(self) as a tzadik and someone who did *nothing* wrong and that everyone was out to get him is severely biased and dangerous. This should not be the role model for us as adults, and certainly not for our children.

Again - not denying that there were likely issues in his sentences, but to only present the case that he did *nothing* wrong and painting him as a tzadik is frankly shameful.
Having the same thought (and I read his book as well as the legalities of the case). Thank you. I do think his emuna is tremendously admirable and that the justice system failed in many ways (as it has done countless times before, and will again) but that the narrative that he is a pure victim goes too far.

@@matthewjmiller07 give an example of what he did wrong? The media and courts were full of lies many of which came to light eventually. The only mistake he made was to inflate income to keep the loan going so that he can keep the company alive after it was destroyed by a government targeted attack for no reason. But though a mistake it was not necessarily wrong, the bank was aware of what was going on and they were fine with it, as the company was worth millions of dollars more than than the total loan ever was.
This man propped up this small town and then destroyed it. It began with documented workers from eastern Europe, and then he realized he was in the middle of nowhere and began hiring undocumented workers. Then the immigrant raid of 2009 decapitated the entire community. the effects are still being felt to this day. Mexican, Guatemalan, Eastern European, Somalian and Jewish people have made this small town what it is today. But Sholom Rubashkin had nothing but profits in mind from day one. Postville wants nothing to do with you
it destroyed hundreds of families. basically bankrupt an entire county. even sex trafficked the undocumented.

But his real crime was destroying the businesses of other Jews who played by the rules and were driven out of business by his undercutting their prices because his costs were reduced by ignoring minimum wage laws
I am jewish. Perhaps though there were reasons he was found guilty. And yes I am against meat. But that's not why I am saying this.
He had a fair trial, was found guilty, and sentenced fairly. He finagled his way out prision, and parades around as a victim of prejudice and spends bundles to buy the awe and respect of uninformed or fellow crooked schemers. Looks like he's pushed his PR campaign up a notch. Lowlife, you'll serve out your sentence. Don't know where these 2 nerds are coming from. But them out?
Sadly (for you), you are wrong. This widely beloved man, who would never express himself with the ugliness that you harbor inside you, did NOT serve out the the sentence. In fact, he did not serve a third of the sentence.. and is as free as a bird :) That's because people far more knowledgeable than you looked at the facts and determined that, in fact, he did not have a fair trial. Deal with it.

Fair trial? Why then did the judge who had deliberations with ICE to target Agri and throughout the trial colluded with the prosecutors (who actually had their main witness lie under oath) not recuse herself from the case?
@@izzy4reel A hero is someone who can go through a terrible injustice, be taken from his family, put into the lowest places on earth, and have 8 years of life as he knew it taken away- and come out of it with even more faith, trust, and love than he had before. He is a hero that we (those of us with understanding hearts and minds who believe in researching facts) strive to emulate.

Is that why 6 former attorney generals wrote a letter to the judge calling the sentencing a huge injustice?
