One thing you shoul know about this band is that they are a real family, all the members were childhood friends from elementary-middle school (Except Johnny, he's a few years younger than the rest and joined in high school), they all grew up together playing music together, in their first album Matt's (lead vocalist) girlfriend did the backing female vocals and screaming, then became their manager and they got married, her sister is married to Syn (lead guitarist), and Syn's father sometimes plays the guitar in some of the songs. It wasn't until Rev's death in 2009 that they got a new member that wasn't basically family to them. I think this is the biggest reason why they're all so compatible and in sync together and can make these great songs in perfect harmony an coherence.

What I love about Avenged Sevenfold is with each and every album they give you their best. This is the best that they can do right now. They take what they know and make it better. And when they put out their next album, they’re gonna do the same.they take what they know and make it better. It’s the best that they can do. It only gets better from here.
I'm SO glad someone else has as much appreciation for Clairvoyant Disease as I do. It's so good I think my top 3 from this album are And All Things Will End, Clairvoyant Disease, and Radiant Eclipse.
Avenged Sevenfold has a story arc a lot like Deftones. This would be like jumping into Deftones between Adrenaline and Around the Fur, the further forward you go in their discography the more their sound changes (Although the hardcore kids were fucking PISSED about it back in the day).
I was one of the ones that was pissed 😂 first album came out in high school and were my favorite until they signed to wb and i threw their cd out my car window 😭 it took me til like 2012ish to try giving the newer shit a try
This reaction touched me man, rewatched it already now. Hoping for a future album reaction from their catalog, personally any of them I'd recommend, although I'm mostly a fan of Self-titled and City of Evil. (also the Desecrate through reverence ending is my favorite on this album, it's very melodic: "Don't waste your time, and don't waste mine.." And also the bassline in the early parts of I Won't see you tonight part 1 especially.)
The switch ups in songs from them are why they are one of my favorite bands ever, along with my favorite band ever System of a Down. Jimmy "The Rev" Sullivan was Avenged Sevenfolds drummer and he was a monster, sadly he passed away just before they released their Nightmare album. Also the guitarist Synyster Gates is one of the best shredders ever, they are so talented.
