These are truly hidden gems and sadly these didn't get the success they deserve. The innovations that Taylor did with these is the outstanding neck joint, bridge, pickups with "quick connectors" and the last but not least the outstanding building quality. I have one Standard just like yours and Classic with mini-humbuckers & maple neck. Both are great instruments!!!
Great job demonstrating this highly underrated guitar... there is not enough information about these instruments out on the web and you do a great job running it through its paces... Taylor pulled them off the market because they just did not sell enough... they were pricey and guitarists tend to stick to brands they trust... That's not to say the Taylor SB is a beautifully designed and flawlessly manufactured guitar... bargains can be had out in the used market if you can find them... last year I grabbed a SB custom Walnut which is a stunning looking guitar with mini-humbuckers... my only caution is that some of the older SB's suffer from twisted necks like the one I purchased... luckily for me Taylor replaced my neck, but I do not think they like to do it anymore... BTW, Taylor still produced the acoustic/electric hybrid T5 and the hollow bodied all electric T3, both of which are fantastic electric guitars! Nice job!
Beautiful guitar. I've always loved those Taylor electric guitars. Not sure why they never caught on. Tradition I guess. My main acoustic guitar is a Taylor GC8e. Wonderful instrument. I should have bought a Taylor electric when I had the chance. They're kind of tough to get now. Thanks for posting this video. Rock on brother. 🤘
I have the twin to that guitar ( naturally the grain pattern is different) ... But they are Great guitars...I also have ( in my collection) a T3 .. I truly believe these two guitars are very underrated... They play like butter craftsmanship is flawless, and sound is great...
I plan to get a laptop to use with Reaper and some VSTs next year. I will get a Scarlett or a MOTU interface. Thank you for sharing the names of the VSTs that you used for this demo. You sounded fantastic using each of them!
Also is it possible if you can do a review of the Line 6 Spider V 20 MkIi amplifier? I always wanted to hear a demo of the updated version of this amplifier that was released last year. Once again, keep making more guitar videos man! I love the content that you give us subscribers of yours!
I have sb1 classic w/the mini humbucker and want to know how you lowered the action? Im afraid to mess wjth the bridge hearing about the powdered aluminum cracking if you tighten the wrong screw.
What's up Chris! This is a fantastic review! I enjoy all of your guitar reviews! They keep me feeling inspired. They give me more ways to become a better guitarist overall. Is is possible if you can do a review/demo of a 7/8 scale guitar by Rogue? They have a guitar called the RR50, known as the Rogue Rocketeer50 guitar that has a 23.1/4 inch scale, and the guitar has a bass wood body, one volume knob, no tone knob, or pickup switch, and one humbucker pickup. Just wanted to ask if you could do a review of a short scale guitar, and let me know what your thoughts are on those types of instruments? By the way, the Rogue RR50 is a mini travel guitar too. The nice thing about these mini guitars is that they are a lot smaller, and fit in smaller spaces especially if someone lives in a place where he, or she doesn't have too much room to store full size guitars. If you are not able to do a review of the Rogue Rocketeer RR50, I completely understand, and I'm perfectly all right with it. Lol. Keep up the great work man! Timing... financial crisis and dip in all markets... for several years... not the best time to launch. They were inn from 2007 to 2013... Plus there are similar stories of guitars that didn't make it even tho they were fantastic, innovative and super high quality makers... there is also the contradiction of being the #1 or #2 acoustic maker, and then going electric. Just like Fender never really took off in acoustics... PRS too ... A good strategic choice to focus on acoustics 110%... Anyway, really great guitars! I have owned 5 different ones. Keeping 1 ...
Hey Chris, quick question about your warmoth telecaster build, where did you get the "cup cake knobs .? Sorry I know the question is relevant to this video but I didn't know how else to get in touch. Thanks Phil
I just bought this very guitar from you, I love it. Now, I got its twin SB2-S
I think I need one for my backup guitar...... my 13th backup guitar

Meravigliosa Chitarra! Anche io ne ho una identica del 2007 o 2008, ora non ricordo!

I just purchased a used Standard Solidbody on eBay. Your demo put me over the edge on that decision. Great playing and tone. Thanks!

Insane! I'd trade two Ibanaez for that beauty. Talk about a collector's item and beautiful beyond belief.
Just don't trade your Baby Blue Strandberg, har.

Slinky sounding.good for recording rythum tracks.would'nt be my go to shredder...
Sapeelee is how it's pronounced. Nice guitar
When you say “ blue Ibanez “ do you mean your 1070pbz?
Yes sir.
Chris Tompkins That Taylor must be a pretty sweet guitar! I’ve got a 1070 just like it and I’d have a HARD time trading it off.
Chris did you get rid of the red sg hp you had
Yes. It was traded a while back, for a super nice Mesa Boogie amp. It's rare that I hang on to anything for very long.
I’ll give you $500?
Looks like that very guitar is on ebay right now.
Not this one. But now I'm curious...
sadly clean demo was so quiet had to cancel you
