I’m have my eyes on one in Glasgow. There a bit of a chip out of the bottom of it which is kind of putting me off, but maybe I’ll turn my eye the other way and just ignore that 😅
I have three of these (seriously) ......love these guitars so much. I bought the last new SB2 ever sold - a direct mount. My fav config though is the miniHB single-coil "Keef" setup.
Very nice playing, good video. These are cool guitars. Got one just like this one, in a trade, also with the Taylor OHSC and leather strap. It fills my Gibson Les Paul Deluxe model niche (due to the mini-humbuckers). I have other LPs w/full size HBs for the fatter or warmer tones. This one is perfect for the LP Deluxe clearer and brighter tones, with a couple extra Fender-ish tones built in due to the five way pups selector. I think Taylor should have kept making these and did some better marketing until they caught on. They had something cool and different here. In my way of thinking, they are somewhat a Taylor version mash-up of a Fender Tele (the two in-between tones, 25.5" neck scale), the Gibson LP Special (simplified LP cosmetics and a one wood body) and the Gibson LP Deluxe (mini-humbuckers).
Was close to buying one of these just last week. Decided against it due to the neck. I think to anybody considering one, they should know the neck feels like you're playing an acoustic guitar. Alas, that was a deal breaker for me & I suspect the main reason why the guitar was not a good seller back in the day. Cheers.
Is it possible to change the pickups themselves - I think the noiseless type they use are not a open natural sound I’m used to - like the no caster demo sounds much better tone imo- but I like the idea of interchangeable pickguards.
Was gonna buy one of these til Ben at crimson guitars basically showed the frets were not great. BTW "don't know why" is a jazz standard and I'll fight anyone who says it isn't!
@@music_stable like not resonant... not sustaining. The guitars inherent tone... i just bought one myself and picking it up soon but noticed in the videos how it doesnt have a lot of harmonic presence
I’ve had mine a month and it is SUPERB, so happy. This video sealed the deal for me. Thank you
congratulations! i'm glad to help you

I rlly want one
Are the mini-humbuckers swappable for firebird pickups? I have a couple of humbucker guitars, but would like a guitar with firebird pickups...

Why does it sound kind of dead in all positions?
what do you mean "dead"?

@@douglasbroccone3144 I can't understudy how you hear it
@@music_stable ive had it for a while now and i love it, but the thin tone is due to the thin swamp ash body
