  • GM Bruce Chiu of Arnis International shows the many ways one can trap and lock using a stick. The concept is interchangeable with empty hands as GM Chiu explains the concepts that translates to weapons. The late Professor Remy Presas was known for his locks as he and the late Professor Wally Jay (Small Circle Jujitsu) did many seminars together.

Wow. Great demo. That’s some high level stuff. But I guess once you understand leverage it becomes second nature.

True, once you get the concept of leverage and limited movements of the human anatomy, it just clicks. But then again, it's all in the training, experimenting and experience.

I’ve met Bruce Chiu and I loved training with him! Very talented martial artist and a very nice guy. Can’t wait to learn from him again

He's the type of person you want to learn from, not because you have to. His personality and the way he interacts with people is genuine.

Absolutely! I’ve only been training in modern arnis for a little over a year now but I’ve been in martial arts for over 10. I love modern Arnis and I love your channel :)

Indeed, GM Bruce said he nowhere near as good as Professor Presas, but he said he will continue on what Professor taught him to the best of his ability.

It's great to find gems like GM Chiu, really down to earth and skillful. He's the type we would like to learn from, and then hangout and have a beer afterwards :)

Same here, it's definitely something to train in explore when training. Too bad we couldn't train with much with GM Bruce and Guro Chris. We just hanged out and ate :)

@@FMAPulse he was one of my recommendations when you had a poll regarding visiting FL. :). The interview went well nonetheless. I like to hear about humble origins. Very few grew up swinging sticks. Good job!

@@MrGizmoto Thanks, it was weird because we ran into him and his son Chris at the GM Taboada seminar. We were like, "I didn't know you were gonna be here. LOL!" It's hardcore to drop out of college to pursue Arnis. That's dedication and passion.
