- Bill shows you how to install a KYB AGX Adjustable Shock and Strut Kit on your 1994-2004 Mustang.
Purchase Product Here:
www.cjponyparts.com/kyb-shock...
If you're looking to upgrade the struts and shocks on your Mustang, we suggest this quality KYB adjustable shock and strut kit is for all 1994, 1995, 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003 or 2004 Mustangs. It includes two adjustable front struts and two adjustable rear shocks, and also allows you to dial in your car whether you are drag racing or auto-crossing with the spin of a knob.
For this installation, you'll want to remove the front wheel and lift the control arm in order to remove the original struts. Remove the strut from the spindle, but place the dust boot and rubber seal from that strut onto your new one before installation. Place your KYB strut into place on the car and secure. Make sure this process is complete on both sides.
For the shocks replacement, access the rear shocks and separate them from the rear housing. Place in the new KYB shocks and secure, making sure the lower bushing is coming up through the trunk floor. Total installation takes between 3 to 4 hours.

I got these shocks and struts a while back, and these ride like brand new on a 20 year old gem.
Thanks to all those who rolls with me for this informational inter view of reasonable mods bless up !!
One thing I noticed that the wheel is turned for easier access to the bolts. I'm mentioning this in case anyone didn't notice.
Can't wait to put new my shock and strut. With the strut bar and brake kit.
No more loose suspension
Great video. Ordered these shocks and struts with the upper and lower control arms for my 00 GT. Cause of you Bill I have the confidence to do this install myself. Thanks.
glad we could help Justin!
Me too Justin. Thanks Bill.
Sue K Glad we could help, tough to beat the AGX for the money!

Thanks for the great video, It was a lot of help.
The Cobra has Ford racing Shorty headers, Bossani Hi-Flow cat X pipe, And Pypes M-80 Mufflers welded into a Flowmaster cat-back system.
Wonderful video
They are similar sizes but I have not done one recently enough to say they are the same.
Hi Bill, I noticed on the retaining bracket you used a socket wrench to install it. A person shouldn't use a impact wrench? I know that with an impact wrench you have to be careful not to over tighten.
i noticed the quad shocks arent there...is that detremental to axle wrap? or can you adjust the agx shocks to help? thank you!
Do these raise the ride height at all? The old KYB used to raise the car a bit on the 65/66's
Will these struts/shocks feel better than the koni srt shocks? I have the konis with ford lowering springs and my 03 feels horrible when hitting bumps
So kyb agx are good shocks and struts if u plan on lowering your car
Are the same socket sizes used for a fox body?
I feel like getting a jack, 2 jack stands and just doing this myself, I wonder if the rear shocks on the F-Body are as accessible as on this SVT....
I have kyb in my e39 m5 they Fucking awesome bro
RAY///M316 Sup Ray !
Did your KYB's fit on factory springs or did you lower the car before ?
g00dl00kinb0i yeah the fit
g00dl00kinb0i KYB FIT ON MY E39 like OEM BRO
RAY///M316 I'm gonna order them today then, see how it works then get the Eibach or Koni 1"-lowering springs later :)
Hey guys could this work on my Pontiac??...... Sunbird....yes I said Sunbird... I'm tired of my front wheels and tires giving me a negative camber. If I cancel it out before driving then I'm just fine with that.
I installed these on my trans am. I was messing with them before the installation and noticed the the adjustment know will turn past the one and will also turn past the 8. Does anyone know if you kept turning it would it further adjust the stiffness or softness of the shock?
I meant knob not know
Are the kyb agx better than the koni str-t orange struts???
when you tighten down the strut bolt at the end of the installation do you need to hold onto anything so the strut shaft wont turn?
You can use a strut wrench if you have one, i hold it by hand and with the gun it typically doesn't turn much
Will these work with lowering springs?
what brand is the wheel/tire
Thanks for the video. So I bought a 94 cobra pace car made only 1000. I order struts all the way around from American muscle and change the fronts first fits good then I do the rear and the new ones I was gonna install were to damn short from the original ones. So I call American muscle and they said the rear cobra suspension is different from the GT. When I ordered it, it didn’t give me an option of GT or cobra, it just said v6 3.8 or 5.0 cobra and never said GT or cobra. So now I have to take the front ones back off and return the whole kit back because that’s the only way they will take the return back. So I take it that I have the independent rear suspension?
Give our sales staff a call at 1-800-888-6473 and we can get you fixed up. Cobras did not have IRS until 1999, before that the 94-98 GT and Cobra were the same suspension so someone if giving you false info. The Pace Car Replicas didn't have any suspension change so they are the same as the GT and regular Cobra.
CJ Pony Parts I already purchased the same struts KYB on this video. I received them today. my question is why doesn’t the rear struts have bottom bushing on each side of bottom struts where you install the bolt and nut? Is that normal? Or is it because it’s special adjustable struts 🤷🏽♂️ btw thanks for the reply bud
Where can i get that rubber lower seal?
What setting for daily use?
Hi , i recently changed my front struts on my 95 gt and my steering wheel is now crooked to the side when driving straight. Is there something i did wrong , i mean i put the shocks that were meant for the vehicle.Hope someone can give me their opinion.
You probably just need an alignment.
i has a Mazdaspeed 3, would aftermarket shocks give me better ride or the same?
Depends on modifications, condition of existing components, and which shocks you chose. There are shocks that will be firmer than stock and others that will ride like stock.
Is an alignment recommended after changing the struts?
Unless your original parts were terribly worn its not needed but also not a bad idea.
Bill Tumas how can i raise a 2006 Lexus es330 to fit 24inch rims..i have them on the car now with factory struts and a weld job on struts but struts only last 60 days before they start to leak from hitting bumps on the road..any ideas?
not sure why all r95 mustangs had 4x4 stance
No you should not need alignment
torque specs?????
ya, crap install technique. In addition to no torque spec, you are supposed to manually tighten using the flattened section to hold the inner piston from just turning in the shock/strut - lazy work.
