On 2/14, I received a call from another teacher telling me of yet another school shooting. School had just been dismissed and my son (a freshman) were waiting for the traffic to die down, so I looked up the news, and we watched on the Smartboard. Those kids, coming out of that building, less than an hour away from me, could have been my kids. That school could have been my school. Those teachers could have been my friends. Those Freshman could have been my son! I weep for MSD and Parkland. No child should witness such horror. And I am PROUD how they have stood up. I hope it translates in our government - not just in November, because it's not about who gets elected - but in January, when the new legislative session starts. I hope that government will do more than offer "thoughts and prayers".

This is something I will never ever forget.
It's October 2019 and not much has changed. It's a sad world we live in😢
Thank you for sharing this. It was well put together.

I feel for Anna, Marisol, Ramis, and everyone else who not only have been at the school, but who somehow found the strength to write about it

My junior year of high school during our finals week, me and my best friend were headed to choir class and in the hall the principal was telling everyone to hurry and get straight to our next class. As soon as we were in class and the bell rang... An announcement came over the speaker, "proceed with the lockdown process, this *IS NOT* a drill, I repeat, this is *NOT* a drill." It was TERRIFYING waiting in the classroom staying quiet waiting to hear gunshots or anything for hours, eventually the lockdown ended and we found out that someone had called in to our school and said that there was a bomb somewhere on campus
