There are sooo many Super Mario World hacks out there that it suggests there is actually a whole lot of potential SNES indie/homebrew developers who could and indeed would likely make brand new games for the system in modern times if only there were some better tools for them to actually create new SNES games with. I hope the upcoming "SNESmaker" really helps there. But, man, it's so frustrating. Because I really think we could see some great new games on SNES if it were just easier for people to actually build them in modern times. The lack of great and easy to use SNES development tools is utterly infuriating, and right now I think the biggest thing stopping us from seeing a whole lot of cool new games for it.
