Sorry to hear the demise of Corsair 111 but at least the crew survived. The sea is a cruel mistress, nobodies immune from her might. Those stormy sea conditions are incredible. Thank you for the videos, I enjoy them immensely.
Well...exactly. Not sure how a tribute to a boat does anything for a crew that couldn't negotiate a reef that's been there since before Australia was discovered by Europeans.
Having navigated the rip many times. It is hard each time it's different and with the weather conditions and the time this happened would be horrifying. Even for the most experienced of captains. Glad everyone is safe.
Very fortunate lads. I watched a video from Sal this morning and he described it perfectly “ the water is great but it’s one purpose in life is to try and kill you, your job is to make it safe “
I wonder can they salvage anything and or rebuild it or just inspect it. It would have been scary out there. Glad they are safe. I'd be scared as all heck

So glad that everyone is safe and well. Unless there was a mechanical problem, does anybody else see the irony of a pilot boat running into a reef???

A case of poor judgement, human error?
Thanks Dave, thankfully all safe.
Thank you Daff.
We are so glad that the crew are safe.

A fitting tribute.
Reef was there for few hundred million years but he eventually found it.
