      Lore wise, there are very few beings that can beat a Primarch in a 1 on 1 duel.
      The only beings I can think of that can beat a primarch in a straight up duel are the Emperor himself, the most powerful of Ork war bosses (like the Beast), and the most powerful of Custodes (like Constantine Valdor).

    This is the problem with retaining codices in a digital era. The codex rules will have been finalised a fair while ago, and will not take into account the discoveries made in play in that time. In this time of rule updates and easy feedback access, they will always be horribly outdated as soon as they come out.

    • @Bonesawisready926

      The codices should be collector's items now and made more for the lore and artwork. They should just release the rules via the app for 7 or 8 bucks per army. I play competitive so I'd be willing to shell out the money for every army's rules at that price point. But, it took GW how many years to update their store website? I don't expect them to update how they handle codices for a while.

    • @colinbielat8558
      @colinbielat8558 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      No this is an issue of they do not know how the game works and because they have a three year edition cycle they will not understand how the game works until the end of the edition. They need to stop the three year cycle and write and playtest in house good rules. They have the models to broadly test everything but they are to lazy to do that, easier to use tournament data to make the changes.

    • @Smilomaniac
      @Smilomaniac 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      No. It's incredible how people have complained and whined about this for decades now and it's as wrong now as it was well over twenty years ago. The game is cyclical, the codex' keep the game alive, fresh and interesting. If they do simultaneous launches the game stagnates after three months and then all you have for three years are balance updates and they'll push DLC books instead.
      10th is a bad edition, it's a mishmash of trying to appeal to both casuals and competitive players, failing at both, so GW noncommittally messes with things. I genuinely think they know they screwed the pooch and are just fucking around with it until 11th.
      Besides, whatever the downsides, this wasn't always an issue, it has only happened occasionally in the past that some faction gets a bad codex.

They make great models but I wouldn't touch their rules products with a barge pole now - working with one friend over the course of about four months I have managed to create a rules set that I am convinced is better than anything the GW team have come out with.

      How every single editions since 4th has been worse than the one that came before, a trend that increased A LOT since 8th.
      8th did untold damage to the game by starting its slow devolution into AoS GW is aiming for.
      9th was awful because it tried way too hard to make the stratagems a thing.
      10th is by far the worst edition the game has ever seen because it's the final step toward AoS, no wargear, fixed unit size, premade armies in the form of detachement.
