- I revisited Kemble Cotswold Airport last week to film the current aircraft in storage and awaiting breakup. It has been more than a year since I was last here and it was noticeable how few aircraft there are now, compared to my first film that I took in July 2021 when we were still suffering the economic and travel effects of the 2020 Covid pandemic.
I've included in the film a flashback to July 2021 filmed from the same vantage point as today's film - what a difference!
As before, I've included details of the aircraft filmed - when they flew to Kemble (and what happened to them since my 2021 film).

I am surprised at the Saudi 747-400 only 21 years old.
That is not old,
I see older planes than that being flown by major carriers.
@ahbenjamin2889 Hi - yes it may well be just being stored for now. The engines are covered - there have been some that departed after a period of time... e.g. TF-AME and TF-AKD over the last couple of months....
it will probably return to service this summer, same happened to other saudia 747s

I cannot believe there was a plane just decommissioned that first flew in 66. Who were the daredevils flying that thing in his last few years
@CuriouslyBeautifulGospel-yw3jq Yes I agree. To be fair it has been in semi retirement for some time now - although I understand the APU is still in running order!!😮

@DavidJackson-pu1ws Hi David - yes me too. Lots of memories of going to LHR in the early 70s watching the Tridents; VC10s; 1-11s disappearing in clouds of black smoke. And the noise!! Wish I’d had access to decent camera in those days….all the best Steve
Was the Boeing 747-428 - reg. TF-AAK still stored there? This is the same ed force one 747.

Seen her a few times together with other Magmas climbing out of Ostend during the pandemic and took a few pics. After that they all returned to Liege as main hub. Sad to see her there.
