"I'm just this messed up person, who doesn't talk to anyone, or connect with anyone, or contribute anything to the world except for lying there, on my bed, doing absolutely nothing." holyyyy shit
I really like how this show is touching on the theme of "usefulness" and how it ties to strength, capability, and the "right to remain alive" itself. Chiba tying her entire worth to the thing only she could do. Yanagi, pushing himself through the pain and discomfort to earn people's favour back. Hayashi working tirelessly, cooking for hours and taking the responsibility of escaping on herself, to protect people. Wada being punished for his lack of usefulness his whole life. Tsuno HAVING to help people. And Kamimura, for whom certain things will remain out of reach no matter how hard he tries. But the theme is tied to all of them, besides. Cause what is an "ultimate talent" if not a label that says exactly what makes you the most valuable to society? Value is not be-all and end-all, it didn't protect several people here, and even had a hand in their demise. But if you're useless to everyone, what are you even doing? What right do you have to participate in the first place? To keep participating? If you die, is it even a loss? Or is it just... nothing? I really liked Kamimura's talk. I feel for him. I really do. I'm glad he has Hasegawa by his side.
"...Hey, Ken?" "Yeah?" "I-I... n- nothing. Sorry." SAY IT. 3 WORDS, KAMI. 3 WORDS. Also this episode just emotionally ripped me to shreds... Ken breaking down too- UGGHHH MY HEART
Something tells me Ken's about to die and Kazutoshi will break down mid trial because of it, regretting the fact that he never confessed or something like that
OH IM SORRY I'M MEANT TO FUNCTION AFTER THAT??? IM MEANT TO DO ANYTHING BUT REWATCH THIS AND THINK ABOUT THIS AND SCREAM INTERNALLY ABOUT THIS??? MY HEART IS GOING SO FAST JESUS FUCK
Kazutoshi got a bit more relatable in this episode damn

"Why are we here... just to suffer."
He’s complaining about therapy when this is basically a therapy session.

Where has Watari been this chapter? She’s appeared like 3 times this chapter.
I feel like we might still get a murder tonight. Who knows
she kicked the bucket (joking! hopefully)
Nahhh, she appeared in like 13 videos. But in a lot, she barely had any lines and 13 isn't a lot out of 61 videos.
