Just holding down (for a second or 2) on the Home button will take you to the settings!
That way you can assign your Netflix button to something else!
Exactly. Just wanted to say it.
Or you can just long press the home button to get the settings.
Also if you long press the TH-cam TV button you can repurpose that to access youtube, TH-cam music or TH-cam TV as well.

The google recommendations is one of the only flaws I have with the new Chromecast, I love it besides that. It sucks to hear that google essentially punishes you for enabling apps only mode
I simply mapped the Netflix buttong to open the native Google Movie library, called 'Google Play Movies'. But it is also possible to open it via voice assistent saying: "Open Google Play Movies". I find this view most efficient and allows easy to browser through genres etc.

Is Google Chromecast TV worth replacing the Firestick?
Which firestick are you referring to if first or second edition definitely yes...you'll notice huge difference. But if you have newer 4k Firestick I don't think it's necessary. It's a great device though I love it. But 4k firestick and new firestick light for 29.99 is also outstanding value.

❓ I have some little questions:
1. Can I connect my BT headphones to this Cromecast with Google TV?
1.1 If yes. Is it possible to connect 2 or more BT headphones to hear the audio through them at the same time? (Like on laptops, ...)
2. Is there an app to use Philips Hue-Sync like it's possible on the Android smartphone/tablet with e.g. EssentialHue?
3. Where can I see which Android apps are supported by it? Or are all Android apps (.apk) supported which I have on my smartphone?
4. How good can it be controlled by the Google Assistant from the Google Home? Can it start itself and the TV?
Hello thanks for visiting. I'm not able to answer all your questions, but hopefully someone reading will chime in.
1-yes 2-not sure, I will check and circle back once I get home if it does have in playstore 3-it uses playstore but it doesn't have all the same apps from mobile store since some are not configured for Google/Android tv interface. You can install 3rd party apps but Some apps require mouse toggle but you would need to pair different remote with pause play button like firestick remote to activate mouse toggle.
4- i don't have Google home to try this

Thank you for the great video! I've noticed that many apps have ads which can't be "x"ed out(most ads) while using the Google tv remote. Is there any workarounds to this?

I'm working on video but you can use firestick remote or other bluetooth remote with play/Pause & add which will help you activate mouse toggle.

is you only are using apps there is no need to go in to app only mode everything else is beneath the apps so you do't have to go down and you keep all the top menu and assistant too

Great video! I also wanted to know is there any way you can get a Nest Doorbell notification on the Chromecast Google TV? Like it shows on the Nest Home Hub, ie you can see the stream of the Doorbell as soon as someone rings the doorbell.

Great tips. Relative to your first tip where you can hide all other scrolling menus except for Your Apps, can I just hide a few that I don't like to show up on my Hone screen? Is there a way to do that?

@@streamandtechnow thank you so much 😊 there's this section that shows up that's tabbed as "Apps from my other devices" which shows apps that I've already deleted. I wonder why that shows up. Why on earth would Google want to remind me of what I already discarded?
Just use a launcher like wolf launcher etc . And use button mapper to remap the home button to the launcher. And then google assist still works ;)

Those launchers will help on my Android tv. I have had to go in app settings then show system apps to find some of my apps and that’s a pain.

Just download any launcher. This will save you going into app settings to view your side loaded apps

Hi. Is there anyway of doing that on a 4 k fire stick. And getting read of the stuff that we may never use.
On original firestick homescreen settings, they don't have apps only mode unfortunately... but you can change the launcher that will display your favorite apps.

Are they better than the boxes ?
Yes, only downfall is storage but can easily add more. I very rarely endorse a product I definitely would say this is my favorite device considering the price point, Google has home run with this. Nvidia shield is only other product I feel so strongly about. This is so buttery smooth and love the interface now. Highly recommend this. I like it more then TiVo Stream 4k & 4k firestick.

If you already have TiVo Stream 4k I wouldn't spend the money.. the TiVo is excellent no need to upgrade that but if you're in the market for another device & it's between those two I would go for new Chromecast.
How do I side load Tennis Channel?
There's several live tv apps that should have it I'll try & find one & circle back

A ton of ads on FireTV. Maybe Roku is better?
Is it an app that requires you to have Subscription or to log in using cable credentials if so I doubt there will be a modded app for that. Which app did you find it in so I look at others, have you tried ola, oreo or USA TV RADIO

About Tennis Channel .. It was on a website. It wasn’t an app. Just one of those pages that you use with your browser. I didn’t bother with it.
