What the price on the 4230 I'd like to have it
Enough with. The hankies stuff i guess I talk a lot like you guys I love your show I have an old Ali’s chalmers my self love old tractors like you folks I am a northern hillbilly and I love who I am
😅 you guys are crazy but I really love your videos sometime I am coming down to visit you guys ok
Good thing Hank's head is attached he'd forget that also lmao
You're only grounding the solenoid. You have to put the ground wire in the frame or the starter bolt!
bypassing th solenoid!!!!!!
a direct short
That is correct a direct short
I couldn't bear to watch them short the solenoid so I just skipped to the end to see if they ever understood and got it started.
This is nice to listen to while I'm driving to Arizona.
Texting and driving? Turn yourself in, or i will.
@@Sundog0811he’s a listener while driving he’s not texting cause he’s not from Texas 😂
Hank and Wiley, for your information it's not a case International. It's International Harvester 1486. Case and Ih didn't emerged together until mid 80s by Tenneco company. Case lost their @$$ in the 70s and got bought out by Tenneco. Ih got bought out by Tenneco mid 80s.
George Benson sang “Turn Your Love Around”. Great video, Hank. Thanks for sharing!!
Hank and Wily's Will it Run Service......"We didn't start the fire, we start the TRACTOR!" 😂😅😅😅😅 Good job fellas!!
Watching yall work in the heat reminds me of the late John Pinette's family reunion comedy bit...."The ladies decided that Disneyworld in Florida is the best place to go. They say it's the happiest place on earth. I say nay nay. NOT IN AUGUST ITS NOT!!"
Vice Grip Garage isn't a Yankees lol I enjoy watching him maybe y'all should invite him down to Florida and do a calab video 🤣 😂
Whether Derek is a Yankee or not is immaterial. He doesn't speak Yankee. He speaks Derek. He's a unique individual and is quite entertaining, like Hank and Wiley.
So much will it start! I can't geet enough.
@ 31:30 you still are shortcircuting the battery-- the Battery Neg (-) goes to the frame, not to the output side on the solenoid- . The plus(+) goes to the top lug on the solenoid- and short it to the small lug to engage the solenoid and bindix
It's hard to watch sometimes, lmfao! I see Wiley hooking up the neg to the output of the solenoid at 26:30.
I wish that I could be there with you too. Calvin Dayton. Ohio.
Finally! The dynamic duo got it running
Great Channel, but I watch Hank and Wiley so much my wife is mad. Can't have that "happy wife is a happy life".
Hank I'm fond of a crescent wrench myself, however a vice grips (or locking pliers as some would call them) work a whole heck of a lot better as a clamp for a loose battery terminal, in my humble opinion.
Man I sent a lot of time in one of those back in the 80s farming. Thanks 👍 for sharing.
You two are a 🦉. I laugh EVERY TIME I watch a video!!!
46:00 dam that's a beastly sounding engine for a tractor
Abraço direto do Brasil🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷
Nothing Runs better than Nascar John Deere😂
Great video!
God Bless 🙌
Another AWESOME will it start Hank, Wily and Jacob, hope the next one goes just as smooth as that one 👍👍👍
Thanks for another great video hank and Wiley.
What a struggle on this one. But after a series of things and starter repairs it ran. Great. My compliments to you both you got it running.
Call it the struggle bus.
Good work gentlemen.
Thanks.
The Iowa Farm Boy. Steve.
It’s always a pleasure to watch you gentleman at work when I have had a stressful day in the studio. Keep up the good work! I would pay to watch you on a Tv show.
I believe the corrosion protection is called dielectric grease
we call it "contact grease" here in france , idk if translated it's not the same
Hank i have a comment .
Always finalize the power connections , then connect the battery with it , because at many time i saw you or wily making the same fault and got a shortcut...
Always when finishing , you can connect the batteries specially the + one 🤗
"It ain't got no gas in it."
😂😂😂😂😂
Really enjoyed these 2 videos, good stuff!!
Get it boys !!! Love the videos !!
Good job, Hank and Wiley you guy's are funny. I really appreciate you guys, and thanks for sharing 👍
Y'all did a great job!! Be blessed and keep having fun!!
Crazy but great job great video thanks Hank and Wylie
I'd love to have that tractor and the portable feed mill together
Great job Hank and Whilley thank you was great can't wait for next video .
love ur vids
That was cool
You guys have to much fun
Nice job and God bless y'all
Hey! Us Air Force Retired have used up our memories on TOs and AFRs. We got nuthin’ left.
Lol. True
If you took a picture with your camera before you took it off, it wouldn’t be as intertwining 😮 but it would help you put it back like it was.
Ole Wiley looks like the Good Lord just tickled him under the chin every time one starts, got to love it. Thanks for sharing fellas.
Great job God bless
The answer to where the wrench was "What Dash"?
Early morning 🌄 here in UK 🇬🇧 Saturday great 👍 watching again will john derre start now watching part 2 best vidio for a long time not really there all good plenty of jokes 👍 😀
Thanks!
Don't forget the duck tape and the wrench where the filters are
I’m sure if you took a still shot of the

You two just make my evenings thank you both for the fun!!!

Kym
Adelaide
Thanks Guys for another great episode I really enjoy watching you both work together on the equipment Steve Milligan from Kentucky
Thanks 👍
Dang it driver, pot that ground to the frame!!
I knew you guys could do it
great entertainment from their video's.
I got my oil change at one of those valvolines quick changes a while back and they told me how they we concerned with the color of my oil so I acted all surprised and said you show me that dip stick and they were caught off guard but showed it to me and I said after running my finger over the stick saying "oh this thing is making oil" and they legit tried to explain to me I shouldn't let it run so low and I said "well if it making oil it's burning it!" with my daughter in the back seat. They were at a loss of words before I started laughing lol
Great video boys, we have a 3140 John Deere on our farm here in Ireland, can’t beat the Deere’s! Really enjoying your channel, first class! 👍👍
Hard to beat 3140...run 1every day here in nz
@@woodchopinbeekeeper929 oh aye, a great yoke, wouldn’t be without it! 👍
Are you using the red Kool-Aid for that tractor? Lol. Another great video fellows and alway's waiting for more, plus I watch Wileys channel as well. God Bless you both.
Be careful Hank, when starting old equipment standing in the kill zone at the front of the tractor. You guys are great
You guy's are a Jack of all trades and masters of none .
Sounded great once it fired up.
Good video.
So how much is it?
Can you imagine a Hamiltonville Farm/Vice Grip Garage collaboration?
Terminal grease
The red spray is, CRC 05046 Battery Terminal Protector
Hank needs a "NO: Hat lol
I thought in other vids he had one!?
LITTLE TRICKS OF THE TRADE. SMASH THAT THING!
I still want to see you crank the other one that had the oil coming out of the dipstick
That battery cable jumping like that means there is a lot of amps flowing straight to ground, and that funny looking wrench JDE80 is the special john deere wrench to take the back bolt off the starter. If the starter wasn't bad it is now
Lucky you didn't blow up the battery made a dead shot the way you tried to start with
That's A magnetic magnet extender stick for when you loose bolt's & 🔩 nuts.,or tools.,an parts while working on that equipment with. I'd just invest in one of those wooden yardsticks for your fuel gauge stick checker.
You guys are lucky you didn't blow up that battery, all you did was dead short the battery to itself just using the solenoid of the starter.
Excellent video Hank :) , Wiley :) also Oil Filters are all good as long person know difference between Conventional and Synthetic do on gas or desiel motor one's plus brands to out there! I know difference is and hope other people too plus guy too! Red stuff be Lock Tight or Anti Seize or Dielectric Grease Hank :) and that be asking what it ! Hank and Wiley John Deere is dependentable if moves and if don't move not Dependented!
35:28 finally connected correctly
The red stuff is vienner-slicker.
I hope you guys drain the water out of that 4030 let it dry fill it back up with used motor oil and cover the stacks. It may be salvageable. Love your show
Good Morning Gentleman, it is 6:39 am on 8/19/23 ! Hank on diesel tractors they will start better with a muffler on them .
You two are magnificent
Be well
would love to meet ya when at dolly wood next time
Hank, you need a COMPLETE set of tools. 1/4" 3/8", and at least 1/2" socket/ratchet sets.
The red stuff is dielectric grease
Try putting the ground wire to the motor and leave the positive to the top lug of the solenoid. You are grounding to the wrong spot!!!!
Não era este o trator da primeira parte 🤔🤔🤔🤔
That wrench y'all are trying to figure out what it is. It's called A distributor cure bar wrench for changing out.,an adjusting your distributor with on the farm out in the fields if you happen to break down in the middle of tilling.,or planting seeds.
Put the ground on the bolt what holds the starter on not the live from the solenoid
If I remember correct there should two batteries one on each side in that John Deere era.?
Derek would have had it started by now
Your ground goes to the frame not the starter solenoid
What kinda truck is behind the tractor? The white one, looks like a crane of some sort.
What are you going to do get to work
I like it
It is called Dialectic grease
Corrosion prevention - used on battery connectors and electric connectors to keep water out.
It's called copper grease
It's called corrosion prevention terminal protector spray.
Heyy ... br0 " z i also just noticed a 4~ wheeler , orr 2 inside hizz Barn & very much may need 0ne of those .. if either is for sell.. by chance
This is painful to watch after working on them for 15 yrs or more and seeing the starter hooked up incorrectly
You know.
There's one thing that every time I've seen. You guys go to work on these older machines and try to help these owners to get him running again and go and try to look for buyers for them when I see. These owners have so much equipment on their proper days. And so much old time stuff that I grew up with. It tugs on my heart strings honestly. Because these owners have collected so many things that I grew up with and I remember for my generation. And the thing is as it tugs on the heart strings. Because these owners it reminds me of so many people that I knew growing up that I've had a hard time parting because of so many memories that they've had with those things that they collect, so it always reminds me. That you know, these people, the reason why they've had a hard time parting with some of the stuff is because they grew up with it and had memories like we've had.
If the starter wasn't making contact inside, the key switch was probably fine. The external key switch was most likely put in because it wouldn't spin with the original one. Put the wires back on properly, watch 'er light up.
Am I right in thinking black smoke is diesel white smoke oil.?
