So basically Eggman gets betrayed by another one of his creations, except this time, instead of taking it like a bitch, he goes into "ow hell naw" mode and enters a fist fight with Emperor and Sonic for the gem.
Know your comments old, but it's the same thing I was thinking when I first got to this boss. Refreshing to actually see Robotnik really try for once. Got to love his makeshift Egg Mobile.

Steventhe2nd well Sonic was sucked to a portal from the reaction of the Chaos Emeralds and what I can assume to be a Time Stone from CD. It's pretty clear that portal is what leads him to be in Sonic Forces as Eggman states "you've got a lot of nerve for a pint sized Sonic from another dimension" from the Egg Dragoon fight he has from the Demo
That wasn't one of the Time Stones, but a new gem called the Phantom Ruby. And timeline wise, this takes place after Sonic & Knuckles.
The Hard Boiled Heavies and Eggman were both fighting for the Emerald for their own reasons. Sonic beats the shit out of both of them. The Phantom Ruby sucks Sonic through a portal. Sonic ends doing the exact same pose Classic Sonic does in Sonic Forces. Seems this game is a prequel to Sonic Forces.

I think I know how classic sonic got to the other sonics world because when classic sonic defeated the extra boss then sonic and the phantom ruby got transported in the other sonics world which was why sonic forces was added with classic sonic

The gem happens to be the power of Infinite. After defeating the final boss (with all Chaos Emeralds), (Classic) Sonic is then transported into Sonic Forces.
Possible, since the gem is related to Infinite and cause some kind of attraction to the Chaos Emeralds.

Nobody is going to praise and acknowledge how powerfully insane and OP super sonic is? He took on and defeated the phantom king and eggman who were both using the phantom ruby while time was being distorted around him and the phantom ruby is op and more powerful than the chaos emeralds with its insane hax on top of it. Super Sonic is a god tier transformation, that in itself deserves praise.

@@jadendafinger true but hyper sonic may come back in the future and it's still a canon transformation. Hyper Sonic would probably solo over 90% of fiction if he came back, he would be too broken and op beyond repair.
In hindsight, this is actually pretty hilariously sad. Classic Sonic goes through all of this trouble to fight off the Phantom Ruby, follows it through dimensions all to be thrown aside so that another version of himself and some random joe with a gun can finish the job for him.

(Was beat up so bad by a phantom ruby maniac to the point he was assumed dead and was literally tortured by Eggman. Then he was going to be basically executed.)

I like the fact that Heavy King can damage Super Sonic because it uses power blasts (like magic can be defeated only by magic) while Eggman cannot damage Sonic since he uses mechanisms
If you let Eggman push you back for too long he will charge at you using the ruby to damage you
Actually, not all of Eggman’s machines are worthless. Big arms in Sonic the hedgehog 3 is actually capable of hurting Super Sonic too, and he doesn’t even use any special power source.

You have to get all 7 chaos emeralds. You can find them in the bonus stages that you play when finding a big ring.
A level in a classic sonic game, where you can fly as super sonic, constantly lose rings, and two bosses in one, and it's not super easy. SEGA, you are applauded 👌
Here's how we know Sonic Mania is tied to Classic Sonic's appearance in Sonic Forces:
1. Classic Sonic and the Phantom Ruby went to a different dimension.
2. Only Classic Sonic went through the portal as stated that Classic Tails and Knuckles weren't confirmed to be in Sonic Forces.
3. The kick after Classic Sonic spins through the portal, which shares a relationship to that same kick in Sonic Forces when he saves Modern Sonic from a pile of rubble.
All these clues tie together the very reason how Classic Sonic is joining alongside Modern Sonic in Sonic Forces. Agreed?
Would had been nice if they try to connect it to Knuckles Chaotix as well for example instead of just Classic Sonic going through the dimension, Classic Tails should had gone with him to the Modern Sonic dimension too then all that's left is Classic Knuckles staying behind. Since Classic Sonic and Classic Tails aren't around to handle Classic Robotnik anymore, Classic Knuckles then joins with the Classic Chaotix and then the event in Knuckles Chaotix happen. Then after Knuckles Chaotix end, Classic Sonic and Classic Tails returns. Someone here on TH-cam also was trying to connect Sonic Forces to the Game Gear Sonic series as well through a theory that Infinite is Tails from Sonic 2 GG's bad ending. Even better if they also connect it to Tails Adventures, once Classic Sonic is gone, Classic Tails went to do his own adventures while Classic Knuckles joins Classic Mighty and the Classic Chaotix.

iv'e just noticed...
every time the purple gem is used in the Titanic Monarch fight, after using it it flashes and goes dark for a second and then back... Maybe the amount of negative energy that eggman poured into the gem manifested itself to either A: Distort the time-space continum, or B: Created Infinite's infinite power,(and maybe his edginess) and allowed forces eggman to use infinite to take over the world with.
I'm kinda leaning towards B... but if Infinite as a gem could in fact do that, then forces wouldn't exist because he could send sonic, classic, and your avatar to a dimension of... Water? idk, but that leaves the rest of the group vulnerable to attacks if sonic isn't out there doing things fast, plus, Infinite could as well teleport the entire group into the dimension, leaving the world to the bad guys...

Actually, the gem is called the Phantom Ruby. As for the flashing, that when its energy was being used as its capable of manipulating time and space. I think the ruby did once belong to Infinite, using it as a focus for his power. But sometime in his life, he was defeated and sealed into the ruby, much like what Tikal did to Chaos with the Master Emerald. The power the gem is said to have is actually Infinite himself, and he used the energy given off by the Chaos Emerlad's to strengthen his own until he escaped his prison, which also warped this Sonic into Sonic Forces.

Wait, so what's happening during this battle? I was a little confused when it first happened. Robotnik ended up using the Ruby when he lost in his Titanic Monarch form and then the Heavy King stole it so Robotnik and the Heavy King are fighting each other? Or are they just fighting Sonic? Or is Sonic just in the way? At first I thought they were just working together and tossing the gem to each other, but you can see Robotnik wrestling with the Heavy King at the beginning so?
Fun fact: Titanic Monarch = Heavy King
The final boss is not a Titanic Monarch form, it's the big robot thing he was inside that you saw explode at the end.
Eggman and Heavy King are fighting for the Phantom Ruby, and Sonic is fighting them both.

Eggman and Heavy King are fighting over the Phantom Ruby since Heavy King decided it was the right time to turn on the doc. Sonic, having all seven Chaos Emeralds, takes an opportunity to beat them both by going Super and tossing himself into the fight.
I'm pretty sure TMZ isn't Heavy King, they just look similar. Because.. TMZ is a giant mech so large it's its own zone, and Heavy King is a robot.
It would've been so cool if they made it so depending on the ending you got in Mania, it would depict whether Classic would appear or not.

So what evidence i found to what the portal took classic sonic to. The Portal took classic sonic to sonic forces to where he met Modern Sonic again and the gem that classic sonic teleported/warped with created the powerful one " *Infinite* ". Infinite got his speed,strength,And powers from that one gem. When classic sonic got pulled into that portal doesn't that sound familiar to you? I was avoiding spoilers till thusday when I get paid. I've been excited for months now since this was announced. I mean, Super Sonic not being in Forces kinda makes sense since we see here that the Phantom Ruby can disable Super Sonic, so why would they try that during the Final Battle?
@@RobinDJoker Because it's doubtful that Eggman would know that the Phantom Ruby can do that since at no point in Forces is it demonstrated.
In fact, the Phantom Ruby seems to behave completely differently in Mania to the point where I'm thinking that it's powers *actually* change depending on whenever it's in Modern verse or Classic verse. So for all we know, the Ruby has no anti-Emerald powers in Modern verse.

The main difference between how the Ruby is used in the two games is the fact that Infinite is using the Ruby in a way more similar to how Shadow uses the Chaos Emeralds in the 3D games pre-Unleashed, and the fact that the Ruby can be replicated,which can be attributed to Eggman's intellect. The Ruby's powers have been fairly consistent in both games: creating portals, creating illusions (Eggman uses the Ruby to create illusions of the Hardboiled Heavys during the fight before Egg Reverie and Heavy King). And another reason they didn't gather the Emeralds is because as far as they knew, Shadow was with Eggman,and Sonic was assumed dead, so they didn't have anyone who could use the Emeralds as well as those two (aside from Silver, but the only time he went super was in '06, which was retconned at the end of that game).

In Forces, the Ruby does *NOTHING* even remotely similar to the creation of the Hard Boiled Heavies.

if you say far from him, he starts using the Phantom Ruby to charge up at Super Sonic, once he's done charging up, Robotnik dashes up at full speed, it kind of makes it impossible to hit him

Point is, your argument was weakened because you used it in the wrong place. If you were to comment this on a "Final Boss - Splatoon 2" video (or something of the like), it would've been stronger. Which you've probably already done, but that leaves this comment.

Wait a minute... at 1:05 after defeating Eggman, +1000 points was added to his score, BUT WHEN THE SECRET BOSS APPEARED, his score has lost those points and its only 9300 points again! I mean, if high-scores doesn't even matter to this game, then why include at the first place? There is no reason to keep your rings at all, and without that effort, the whole concept of replaying a level for a better score breaks!

Thus, Sonic was taken away from his world by the power of the Phantom Ruby, but, it was for a good reason. That was because, during the fight, the evil Dr. Eggman held up the Phantom Ruby. We must remember that at this time, time and all the dimensions were under the total control of the Phantom Ruby. His plan was to transport his Badniks and evil devices and mechanisms of the present into the future world. Thus, he held up the Phantom Ruby in order to escape the fight and go to the future to assist his future counterpart in making their robots to conquer the world. He was also planning to inform his future counterpart about the Phantom Ruby and its powers, so that they could control time and space, but, what Sonic saw in the portal was an already distorted and destroyed world, which was so because of future Dr. Eggman. He also saw his future friends and future himself suffer and desperately calling out for help. He decided to finish the fight and go to the future world, but, lo and behold! Heavy King stole the Phantom Ruby from Dr. Eggman in order to go back in time and revive the Hard-Boiled Heavies. Sonic took quick action and slammed Heavy King in the head. He was badly hit due to Heavy King's electric barrier, but, he was in a good condition, thanks to the power of the Chaos Emeralds. Heavy King was destroyed, but, Dr. Eggman was left, and he had only 25 rings left! So, as a last chance and a final goodbye to his world, he charged towards Eggman and destroyed the machine. All that was left now was the Phantom Ruby and the Chaos Emeralds. Since the Phantom Ruby was pure evil, the Chaos Emeralds left and went away while Sonic was taken from the void that was Egg Reverie and transported to the future. Tails and Knuckles stood outside and watched Little Planet break free and explode, while Sonic travelled through time in the portal. What will become of Sonic and the future world? Will Sonic be able to save it, or will Dr. Eggman destroy it?

Best Super Sonic Boss fight!
This was the best 2d sonic game for me and I found it even more satisfying getting super sonic before seeing this scene

Since this is OBVIOUSLY connected to Forces and since Mania's emeralds were sucked into the modern universe too, that means there were 14 emeralds in the events of Sonic Forces that didn't get used...
*They could've brought back Hyper Sonic* (yes, I know 14 emeralds doesn't create the hyper state, but the super emeralds do. But Super Emeralds seem to be upgraded versions of single emeralds so there's nothing saying 14 emeralds wouldn't work as well)
The master emerald might be more powerful than 14 chaos emeralds

Hm...it seems that, even though the Phantom Ruby's distortion can affect Sonic even while under the protection of the Emeralds, it seems unable to affect the Emeralds themselves. (that thing at the end is how they used to work, splitting apart DBZ style)
There's actually one secret move from Eggman at the true final boss if you just stay in front of Eggman he will charged then attack you like he's going insane
