What was funny for me, is I watched this episode with my kids. They couldn't figure out why dad was balling like a child. They couldn't figure out why that ship was so important to my childhood. Hell, I didn't know how important that ship was to me until this scene. Beautifully done.

This is how you plant a landing. They did here what they initially did in the first Star Trek movie with showing off Kirks Enterprise getting the refits. Showed that no matter what the Enterprise is a character of her own and she deserves the majesty that comes with it. To me this is where Discovery has floundered. This scene is a proper scene of a mother welcoming her children home and makes a promise that they and there family will be protected. The camera angles the music all of it hits all the right marks and you know full well Enterprise is going to make good the promise of protecting her crew.

My dad showed me Star Trek when i was a kid. I fell in love with. He passed away from cancer just before season 1 started so he never got to see Picard. TNG was his fave by a mile. When i watched i had tears in my eyes so many reasons. Just the fact the D was back and wishing my old man was here to watch it and see his reaction. Star Trek is a beautiful thing for its lessons it teaches and shows us. I only hope one day i can show my kids it and they can get the same joy my dad got from showing me.

I absolutely adore the subtle use of the Generations overture the moment they step on to the bridge.

This was so well done... hands down the writers, musicians, and the actors knew how to deliver to the fans yet make it all integral to the plot.

This is a moment of Television magic. The entire season of Picard had something that was truly lacking from Star Trek in the last few years... it had heart. So much nostalgia and so many emotions when I saw the Enterprise-D. I knew it was coming, too many hints to not have it show up... but when it did I got emotional. because TNG and the Enterprise-D where the show I truly grew up with.

Also, seeing her on screen again, after her crash on Veridian III, was like seeing the Ecto-1 revealed in the third act (not the initial reveal earlier in the film) of Ghost Busters Afterlife. Then Deanna saying she sensed great joy as the camera pans to Data was like Peter Vekmen asking Gozar, "Hey, Flat-top! Did you miss us?" We all know that was a 4th wall break directed at the fans.
Thank you, Terry Matalas for your generous gift to us.

I don't see 24th-century characters, I see present-day actors recalling, reminiscing, coming together in the spirit of, the best time together they ever had.

I think the best thing was that even though the D was destroyed we all knew what was coming but that didn’t take anything away from this truly beautiful moment, not just in universe but it was beautiful conceived, shot and acted to perfection. I can’t see anything ever topping it.
