    That's my dream bike right there. Nothing different except I'd do it with an Enve wheel set... Absolutely brilliant build.

      Nothing wrong with those Hunts. I'm running them on a couple of bikes, and they work very well.

    that's an amazing steerer tube! it grows back after cutting it off then it disappears again!

    I say this in all seriousness and without exaggeration that this is the greatest video in the history of videos and you have the best job ever.

    Two questions: 1- is it a small and 2- when can I pick it up?

    What about frame or even rim protection?

    I noticed you didn't install a headset? does the frameset not need one? Im confused as other articles state that it has FSA No.69 SRS headset, even the manual is not as clear on this. Hopefully this gets answered. Thanks!

      Yes there is a headset. This build is using the 3D-0 configuration which was already installed. The FSA no.69 is on the newer version of the Dark Matter.

    Would having a 2x system affect the rear tyre clearance when adding a front derailleur?

    • @insquares
      @insquares 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      My understanding is it shouldn't unless it's eTap then you do lose some tire clearance due to the SRAM derailleur. I don't know if it applies specifically to the Dark Matter but I've seen this issue listed in specs with many gravel bikes and eTap front derailleurs.

      @@insquares Yep. Got the bike for a month now, fitted with GRX 2x and no problems with clearance

    • @Finx5008
      @Finx5008 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@mitchoi3581 GRD FD has 2.5 mm more outboard clearance than a SRAM ETAP/AXS FD (or a Shimano road groupset). Something to keep in mind. GRX was designed specifically for gravel bikes by moving the front chainrings/derailleur outboard 2.5mm.

    Why use stem spacers when you can simply use the bigger 3D top section (30mm). Argon 18 do not recommend putting spacers on top of the insert

    • @outputspeedlab6513
      @outputspeedlab6513  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Greg Fisher it’s not that spacers aren’t allowed, it’s that the 3D headset spacer simply provides more stiffness (in place of spacers). In this case we chose 20mm (and have since gone down to 10mm) of spacers to keep the aesthetics of the flat top tube. Argon 18 claims the 15mm 3D spacer provides 5% more stiffness so I suppose that is what we sacrificed.
