Hawk was a good friend of mine! Mike was his name and what a good guy, real soft spoken very respectful and man he had stories for days! I miss my friend wish he was still here ! My daughter was just a baby when he passed if saw her today he be just as proud of her as I am for making it to college to become a chemical engineer! Rip Hawk!

I use to tell Mike I remember being a lil kid like 5 yo and watching them on tbs, they always looked like they were 7 feet tall and could rip a guy in half! He use to laugh at me, he say that’s just the camera angle to make us look huge! He always tell story’s of going to Japan and wrestling, how the guys would beat him up in the ring cause they lacked the experience! He said it’s an awesome place to get book for a wrestling match cause they pay for everything and they treat you like a king! But Forsure missed no for his career but just cause he was a good ole boy and loved they people who were close to him!

I told him your career was just a bonus! His fiancé Dale was a character too, she was bubbly and full of life. It was sad after Mike passed she took it very very hard to the point I was concerned about her taking her own life. But we keep her from doing that, I sat out a many times and explain to her that Mike wouldn't have wanted you to do that, he loved her a lot she was his world. I've met Hogan big show Craig Nehammer Valentine Brian from the nasty boys. They've all come through our muffler shop in Clearwater Florida
The Road Warriors will always be their official name to me while their Legion of Doom moniker will be their nickname - as was the case in their JCP days and earlier.
LOD was a stable: Jake the Snake Roberts, The Spoiler, King Kong Bundy, and Road Warriors Hawk & Animal managed by Paul Ellering. Jake & Bundy left for WWF. The Spoiler went to Memphis and RR and Ellering stayed in that Georgia JCP area. But LOD stuck as a secondary name until WWF made it their Primary Name
Fun Fact - the guy who made the smoking skull belt actually made two versions - one in gold plate and one in silver plate, as Steve had asked for a silver plate, but the belt maker (I believe it was JMAR at the time since JMAR was doing all the WWF belts after taking over from Reggie Parks) brought both and Steve ended up choosing the gold plated one instead of the original version he wanted.
