I really enjoyed this, it reminds me of when my dad told me the truth about him as a safe blower in the early 40s and 50s in Scotland and down London, he kept it quiet until a year before he died at age 94 in 2017. He was a very wise but private man, but I just knew there was always something different about him growing up. He gave me some education through out my life that’s for sure ❤😂

I can't tell you just how made up I was to come across this 😊 I'm a huge fan of Charlies books, I bought them all when they were first released in paper back , brilliant reads , strangely enough, I ended up working in a barber shop opposite Charlies apartment in the village where he lived at that time, i used to see him often but never had the guts to say hi!! There's a TH-cam vid of him playing piano and singing "Blueberry Hill" that really surprised me , he's good! Hyenas is one gripping read , all of his books are brilliant 💙
My mum was a midwife in Liverpool during the war. She was forced into a shelter by the air raid warden on the way to deliver a premature baby … she later escaped and ran through incendiary bombs falling either side of the road, determined to get the baby; delivered it; wrapped it in blankets and put it next to the oven, like she did with the lambs back home on the farm. She got a real telling off by her superior… for leaving the shelter!
