Our History
Fritz Aquatics is a specialty brand of aquarium products manufactured by Fritz Industries, which was founded in 1956 by C. Fredrick “Fritz” Weisend. In the early years, Fritz Industries emerged as a research leader in the development of products based on applied chemistry and unique manufacturing processes, leading to the establishment of the pet products division.
The Fritz Pet Products Division began in the early 1970s with the manufacturing of all-glass aquariums and processing aquarium gravel. Today, the specialty division manufactures hundreds of pet products with an emphasis on the aquatics market, developing innovative products such as FritzZyme 7 & 9, TurboStart and FritzGuard. The Fritz Aquatics line is marketed to major distributors and pet retailers throughout the U.S. and internationally.
Fritz Aquatics also manufactures products for large aquatic facilities, zoos and the largest public aquariums in the world. In 2014, Fritz Aquatics secured an exclusive royalty agreement with Sergeant’s Pet Care Products, Inc. for their Mardel and Aquarium Product lines.

This was so fun and it’s been a blast going to Nima’s store these past few weeks. The saltwater game is so freaking sweet. So, glad I started one. Thank you Nima & Fritz!
Welcome to the addiction my friend! Can't wait to see what you come up with!
congrats jimmy! I just started the salt hobby recently as well. Cycling the tank still, but all sorts of idea's for it already.
Love how excited you are for getting into a reef aquarium hobby.
I agree, Fiji Pink is the way to go! I use 0.5-1.2mm sand for all my tanks. GREAT tank Jimmy! Good luck 🙌
Wow, you’re a superstar! Can I get your autograph? - Jimmy
As noob, appreciate how you guys explained what every tool is. Many videos just briefly go throught it or don’t even go through it at all. It is intimidating. The first component to anything, is understanding why we need it
as someone who is trying to get back into the hobby. This was a great video for it. I can’t wait to see future episodes! Love you fritz
So many awesome coral in this video ❤️
These video's are really great, can't believe the Fritz channel doesn't have more subscribers. Congrats on your new tank Jimmy!
Thank you Simon. We’re just glad you’re here with us. :) Thanks for leaving us a comment and being supportive. - Jimmy
Ahh!! Nimas is my fav shop! hes got such great coral and livestock! best shop in Seattle area!!
What you need to start your first reef aquarium: $2,000 cash
I set mine up for $60 today. $18 2 gal brand new reef tank pump and lamp off eBay( this was what made this possible). $18 live sand, $15 bacteria. $8 for 4 gallons of precycled seawater from the shop. $59 total
Letting it cycle as it's all cloudy right now. Setup is small enough that the fluorescent light will get me up to temp in a day or 2. Gonna go get 3 or r soft corals when the water clears. Dope ass marine setup from scratch under $100. Soft coral frags are $10 a pop at my local shop.
I'm no expert, it's my first time doing marine and I could fail real bad, but it can be done cheap... ish xD. Oh yea another $20 for a 5w tank heater and salinity meter
How many gallons?
I got mine custom made for $3000 150 gallon. That's just a start though.
@@rajgill7576what fish are you putting a 2 gallon aquarium?

Not only was that super cool of Fritz to get him app the cool gear to get him started but yall supported an LFS in doing so. Bravo! 🔥👌
Really interesting you say that your frozen food is better in terms of nutrients to the tank than the dried. I’ve always been told that if you can get them on to dried, it’s packed with goodness and much better for the tank as a whole, with all the frozen ‘juice’ which melts and gets dispersed into the water system, rising your phosphates etc.
He is totally right. You could totally buy the tank stand and return pump. Next buy your rock and sand. Once you have that bought. Drop a piece of shrimp in the tank to start the cycle. It buys you a month to 2 months to get the rest of the equipment before the cycle is even done.
Nice tour of Nima’s store. I’ve been there a couple times and he has a nice variety of corals & dry goods. I’ve seen Jimmy on several videos with Aquarium co-op which he did a great job and I’m happy to see him switch over to the salt water side. Glad you gave Jimmy some good advice Shawn.
Always go with the Fiji pink although my current tank is a mix of Fiji and reef
It’s awesome. I’m glad he suggested it! - Jimmy
Great Video! Hopefully you guys are going to a video get him Jimmy's tank set up???? That would be awesome.
Already in the works!! :)
Great video to watch as a new marine keeper in the uk im always looking for new videos to research before i dive into it
You guys should do a "watch along" video to Chasing Coral. It's such an inspiration for someone to want to start a SW tank.
Already watched it! - Jimmy
Please tell me you are doing the follow up video for this showing the setup start to finish ?
Of course! should be out in 2 weeks. ;) - Jimmy
Yes! I was hoping to see a video about Jimmy's new aquarium. And now I really want to visit Nima's store. Looking forward to an update on how the tank is turning out. The big question is...who was behind the camera??😂
Congratulations jimmy im so jealous ive always wanted a saltwater tank but just cant make myself do it.
Gaining the knowledge first will help you alot towards being successful with your first tank! Join some groups and just read the feeds. You'll get there, then just jump in!
This would be a dream come true!
Im going to buy exactly what you did for simplicity, kind of wish a buildlist was in the bio👍
I’ll put one in there! -Shawn
We'll be in to get our first fish next weekend!
Hey! Mention to Nima you saw the video! I’ll be back there to pick up some salt this week. - Jimmy
I’m about to start a salt water aquarium. Trying to get 120 gallon. Gonna need an all in one set cuz the sump and everything seems too confusing. Thanks for this video!
All in ones are great tanks! Sumps definitely add complexity and are 1000000% NOT REQUIRED to have a beautiful reef tank!
Fritz Dark Water is an amazing product❤ Nice tank bro!
Yall are hilarious😂
lol Shane’s a hoot 🦉 - Jimmy
You need rocks, sand and water. That's it. 😂
I lol'd so hard at that! lol
so lucky
I guess most people are intimidated because the salt water hobby is so expensive. thats why i havent started on the dark side of the hobby
People make it expensive. You can have a fish only with live rock tank that looks stunning and it will be as cheap and easy as freshwater tanks. It's when people start getting into buying corals and can't stop when it becomes expensive and more tricky to maintain. The more coral you buy, the more testing is required, the more gear you feel inclined to buy, etc. It's a veryyyy easy slippery slope to fall down after you buy your first couple frags lol.
Return the favor by getting Sean out on track for a drive ;) it’s easy
I dunno about that, I’ve seen him drive. 😂- Jimmy
damn dresms come true
Is there a coral equivalent to duckweed?? Something very hardy and forgiving? Been in freshwater for 7yrs, but thinking of trying a 20gal saltwater tank.
Pulsing Xenia has been blooming for me. Super hardy and grows way too fast. - Jimmy
Kenya tree, finger leather, toadstool leather, green star polyps, mushrooms, xenia, would be good choices.
I dunno, but now I want to watch Leon the professional…
My hermit crabs jump out of my 100gal all the time watchout....
Damet garm 🙏
yeah, as a want to be small salt water tank owner........totally confused
There is alot to learn for sure. What are you confused on most?
Where is the follow up videos?
It’ll be out next month. We’ve been busy with shows and traveling. Once I get home I’ll film the second part for this. - Jimmy
Nice! Jimmy is not behind the camera
Good to see you Shane :) - Jimmy
*Can I have an itemized list of items I will need? Are there any places I can get rimless tanks for cheap?* thank you! I want to dump 1k on it(not necessarily including fish). Would pay for setup2
Happy to help! Email me at shale@fritzind.com and I’ll find a store that we can get you set up with
no pods and plankton ?
I think he was just trying to upsell you....1 A360x is enough granted you're a beginner so softies/LPS. Consider a 55 lens for Beginner SPS
Kessil ended up sending me an ap9x to use. ;) - Jimmy
@@fritzaquaticsvideo great! I'm a kessil fan boy. Shimmer like no other.
Not widely available in the Uk, just over priced junk
I am sorry that we weren’t able to make it more relevant to the UK. I promise we have some UK videos from our trip to the Vitalis facility. We want to make the channel fun and educational and insure we are hearing more about the content you would see 😎
Bro what No RODI system? Hope he doesn't use sink water.
I bought an RO-Di :) - Jimmy
