GREAT JOB on your manual anchor pole system Rick!!! I like the way ya did the mounting bracket. Cheaper & easier than my version. ( It never crossed my mind to use plexi glass or whatever that cutting board material is. ) But at least we were on the same page about bolting it through the plastic lip of the rod storage tray. Way to go! Speaking of the raised casting deck, back when I made my video about it, there was something else VERY important I forgot to mention and demonstrate in that video. So I'll go ahead and tell ya here: I DID mention in that video, that the casting deck totally clears the foot pedals, but like an idiot, I forgot to explain & demonstrate the following: If ya place your foot pedals to begin with, in that rear floor notch in the front floor board, you can STILL use the foot pedals just fine with the casting deck pushed all the way to the front. No need to do all that "placing it in the seat to move the foot peddles" like I was demonstrating in the video. The ONLY reason I was having to "place the deck in the seat to move the foot peddles" is because I like my foot peddles nearer the front of the boat, and ya can't operate the peddles that far forward with the casting deck pushed all the way to the front. You simply SLIDE the casting deck all the way forward and LEAVE IT UP THERE AT ALL TIMES, TO STAND ON. You can still store stuff in front of the peddles, ya simply slide the casting deck back just far enough to grab whatever ya need. ( No need to "push the casting deck back against the seat" either, the way I was doing in the video.) Ya may wanna try that first Rick, before going through all the trouble of making a bigger, more elaborate deck with a trap door. Keep in mind ( because that's what I originally planned on doing, the exact same way you described in this video, and with a trap door ) a trap door that's flush with the top of the deck means you'll have to build a frame UNDERNEATH the deck, as "a door jamb" to stop the trap door, right? That will DECREASE your vertical clearance for storage space PLUS it will no longer clear your foot peddles each time ya slide the deck back to use it as a work bench while sitting in your seat. (Seriously, I thought of all that stuff before I went with the one I made. ) I promise you, the very first time you land a big fish, OR, if ya need to rummage through a tackle box, etc.........and you just SLIDE the casting deck back to within reach, while you're sitting comfortably in the seat & use the deck as "a work station".......you'll wonder why in the heck ya haven't made yourself one sooner......LOL!!! It really does make life in the Twin Troller that much nicer. By the time you open a hatch.....you can just as easily slide the deck back enough to access what ya need down there, and slide it back forward. You'll love using it as "a work bench/station" while sitting in your seat just as much as standing on it to fish. The deck is bigger & safer than you may think. I've never even come close to "falling or accidentally stepping off of it". I've been kicking myself for not thinking of all the above back when I made my video. Again, the ONLY reason I placed the deck in my seat, was to move the peddles to that rear position, when I could've just placed my pedals in that rear position to start with. If you decide to try it as I'm suggesting & you really like it. ( I'll bet ya 12 dirty socks ya will.....ha ha ) .....then don't forget to glue rubber strips under each edge where it rides on the plastic boat rails. It won't budge at all, not even in choppy water while running the outboard. And of course carpet, SeaDek, or rubber matting to cover it, because the wood gets slippery when wet. Not trying to tell a fella what to do, just a mere suggestion buddy. And even if ya decide to go with the more elaborate design with a hatch, I look forward to seeing it.......you always come up with good stuff Rick.
Hi Steve, I have a video of my new pole anchor and casting deck but can't get the comp. to let it upload to yt.I have the deck set against the bow curve and peddles in last slot like you said I did add some weight to the pole and it works great only time it want hold is on hard bottom and strong current it is so easy to use.I hope to find out how to get my videos to upload soon I am not tech smart so maybe one day,it use to work fine now it want let me.
@@mrtilley66 Yeah I was late on catching this video, for some reason the automated notifications was turned off for your channel. I've had that happen to me with other channels. Did ya build a hatch in the deck too? Because if ya skipped the hatch, and it's setting all the way up where I think it is, you should still be able to slide the deck back really easy, right over the foot pedals, whenever ya need to use it as a work station. I tell ya, in addition to being a great little casting deck and entering & exiting the boat........that work station/bench is the bee's knees. Whenever I use my live well for wild shiners, I don't have enough room to use the casting deck too, and boy do I ever miss it. I love to stand and fish a lot. I also get to use the docks a lot easier, and that deck has me plum spoiled now. Sorry to hear about the uploading video problems. So how do ya like using the new deck? I look forward to the video.
@@mrtilley66 See my other response too Rick. I forgot to mention, if ya wind up buying the micro power pole, at least ya got yourself a good bracket to put it on......HA HA!!! Depending on the size of the power pole base, ya might only need to make your cutting board/platform a little bigger. But other than that, it'll work just fine. I thought about screwing plywood or 1 x 6 pressure treated to the metal L- bracket, but I said heck with wood, looks cheap and only thought of all the aluminum. That plexi glass or whatever that stuff is for the cutting boards was brilliant. It blows my idea away, hands down. And anyone can make your version!
I heard you mention the Home Depot in Murrells Inlet. THAT perked my ears up, since I live in Garden City (actually a part of Murrells Inlet, as you know). Do yo know if there is a Twin Troller owners' club in the greater Myrtle Beach area? As much as I enjoy using my new (pre-owned) Twin Troller, I do NOT enjoy going out alone. Would love to connect with others who enjoy this boat.
Hi Tim, I do not know of anyone else here, I fish the ML. marsh all the time I only use my TT now when I take my wife or friend out. I built a foam skiff that works better in the current ,but I still like my TT.
Go to the lawn and garden section of Lowe’s and get an 8’ stake for about $5. Good if not better than a fiber glass rod. They are green and have a point on them. They are made out of a strong resin.
Rick, that anchor system is an interesting addition. I will look forward to your setup for your casting deck. I have not yet built one but I may in the future. You were on my mind when I did my video about installing the sliders designed to let a boat move on and off a trailer easier. I thought they may make it easier for your application since your pontoons rest directly on the deck of the trailer. It looks cold up there! Gerry
HI Cody, it works real good if the bottom is real hard and you are in a strong current it will move some . I just got the fiberglass resin 3/4 in. rod from WW Granger for 45.00 $ and it is great.
Hello Rick , the vid on your anchor system was nice, But what im interested in is the type of reel handles you have on the rod with the blue oversized handles,Where you got them and if you know , wether they make them for Abu Garcia reels , please hit me back Wayne !

Hi Jerry , I went to Wal-Mart and got 6 cheep cutting boards put 3 on each side and it slides easy now.
What kind of floor is in your boat
I put a piece of thin plywood right where I stand I used a router to make a slot for the ply. then covered with cloth and painted.
Great idea!
How did it work?

@@MrBehnke1987 ,I will be going to the marsh this week and I will show it working and hopefully catch some reds.
